No, it's not. Not one bit.
It's just an accurate, and I mean, a very accurate presentation about Niggas.

It's not all that racist. While centered on stereotypes of black America, it also pulls a few punches at the image of whites being seen or considered as high and mighty in society. It's not all that accurate as it tends to exaggerate certian topics or people, but that's the charm. Even behind all this, there's still alot of fun episodes. Kung fu, gun fights, a tint of supernatural activity, and some exaggerated sports? Yeah, that stuff is here.

Well my mate himself is actually black, so I guess that must say something about the quality of the show in that it doesn't even offend him. I'll have to check it out some time.
OK episode. Ha, Robert certainly screwed himself over this time, didn't he. Granted, I'd be amazed too if a beautiful & intelligent woman showed interest in me if I happened to look like Granddad, but a man his age should have the sense not to question when a good thing happens to fall into your lap. LOL @ the boys arming themselves when Robert informed them of his new date: "Grab the gun." "Got it! You get the sword!"
And as usual, Ruckus' dialog cracked me up: "Hello there, chimpan….er, monk....er, I mean, Negro female." There should be more episodes dedicated to Ruckus.
I love how Ms. Brown just summed up Uncle Ruckus's character completely. That cracked me up.
This was a really qaultiy episode for Granddad. Much better than the last few episodes. I really felt for him when he said that he was afraid he may not have much episodes left… Speaking of that, it felt like him and Ms.Brown were breaking the forth wall in the sublime way too. Uncle Ruckus got some layers too.
Favorite qoute from Ruckus. "I'm not jogging with you niggas! Police might shot me by mistake."

it's not racist at all.
the boondocks is what's known as a 'satire'.
often the use of racial pejoratives is meant to spoof the people who
overuse them. and the overuse of the n-word is pretty much the only thing
i can see in the show that could be misconstrued as racist.
the white characters are over the top, but so are the black leading cast - and just
about every single character in the show.
this was the best episode in a long time. really, really heartfelt. totally didn't expect that from an episode centering around granddad.
Bringing back the thread for the newest episode.
I felt the marijuana and this episode about the flu were similar in that it wasn't really focused on laughs but instead on dated issues, but I liked tonight's episode a lot more.
Tonight's episode had all the old cast and even Huey and Jasmine interacting again. It was a nice chemistry. Not just the characters either. It had a great mix of satire, action, and Boondocks seriousness along with laughs, but not on a Riley-centric episode comedy level.
And surprisingly
! No jokes about fried chicken and black people. I was at least expecting some comment from Uncle Ruckus. I thought that was pretty cool.
And one more thing. Next week's episode has Uncle Ruckus' family. I have high hopes for the episode on many different levels.
Good show this week. I didn't really care much for the previous (marijuana-centered) episode, but I thought tonight was a bit of a return to the "classic" Boondocks charm of the first season, with Huey's paranoia and Jazmine, Riley, & Co. all working to undermine his careful planning. Although this was primarily a Huey episode, most of the other characters had their moment in the spotlight, so it felt pretty well-balanced overall. Leonard's mix-up with the food was amusing: "I swear I didn't get any chicken, I just got the buffalo." :p

! I guess there really didn't need to be any additional comment, considering that most of the people who were attacking the restaurants were predominately black.
Can't wait to see next week's episode. Ruckus and his relatives, that should be great.
My favorite part about the chicken episode is the fact it satires virus breakouts in America. The Swine flu threat seemed so exaggerated on the news.

That's because it was.
Seriously… the Swine Flu is JUST another Flu.
In fact the regular Flu takes MORE victims than the Swine Flu ever did.... you just don't hear about it cuz it's so standard.
America loves terrorism: FACT.
I thought Thugnificent's fight against Ms. Van Houten at the end was the greatest thing, almost inspiring. Plus, his season 3 autotune music blaring when he showed up… it was GOLD.
EDIT: Yeah, Hiroy, I meant Thugnificent, not Gangstalicious. Cannot believe I confused the two.
You mean Thugnificent? Or is that another name?
You mean Thugnificent? Or is that another name?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he meant Thugnificent, when he crashed his car into the bus, which was, indeed, epic.
I thought the whole chase sequence was epic. Especially Rukus in a getup that made him look like an antagonist.
Its always fun to watch Huey's well laid plans go awry thanks to the people he's trying to help

Wait.
He's not?
16 niggas
Damn everytime i see a show with kfc on it, i wish we had it over here. It looks damn delicious.
Just recently gotten into the show can anyone confirm if this season is the final season?
There's no way to prove either or.
Adult Swim is the ONLY party that has mentioned it being the last season, and that was in their Promos only.
Damn AS gonna eat a dick if they get cancelled! I just found this! Uncle Ruckus is the best!
Well, that partially explains why Ruckus is the way he is. Darryl and his other brother Darrel didn't come out of it so badly though.

They ran a promo for the last episode of the season during tonight's episode; if it were a series finale rather than just a season finale, you'd think that they'd bring that up.
The callback to Ruckus' "no relation comment" was golden. I'm a sucker for double enendres. So great.
The ending was pretty touching but it was still classic Ruckus. A nice blend of heartwarming and funny with Ruckus staying in character.
Wow… I did NOT expect actual character development.
No wonder he hates niggas o_o
Even with the flashback, I'm unsure if he was actually born white, or if it was his mother's lies and he really is just a blackie.

If only Kubo can learn from this episode.

Remember that in the Uncle Ruckus reality show episode the doctor's DNA test said he was 100% black. I'm pretty sure his mom is lying.
It was really nice seeing Ruckus's family. I really have to commend the writing in this episode. Even though the father was a dick, I felt as if there was some reason he acted the way he did. Especially considering the grandmother.
One more episode left.

Right, I keep forgetting about that episode, since along with the Hunger Strike ep, it was not shown by Adult Swim. Uncle Ruckus will always be 102% black with a 2% margin of error. greatness.
But what confused me was both sides of the story work well, and we've seen messed up DNA tests (Lando episode) for the sake of the story. In the end, Ruckus is Ruckus, whether or not he is a white man trapped in a black man's body.

The shades of The Color Purple made me lol but the unique lil spin on it helped :D
Mistah Mistah LOL
The season finale was kick ass!!
DO YOU WANT ME TO KICK YOU IN THE NUTS!!?
Ummm..no.
DO YOU WANT ME TO KICK YOU IN THE NUTS!!?
No.:wassat:
Season finale was awesome. Time to wait another 2 years for a new season!
"Stomp'em in the Nuts, Ima Stomp'em in the Nuts."
" Stomp'em in the Nuts, Ima Stomp'em in the Nuts."
Holy shit….Was that a cliffhanger at the end. Next season isnt gonna be in Woodcrest? Hahaha sign me up.
I was SO convinced that the Jack Bauer character (lol) was voiced by David Hayter doing his usual Solid Snake voice…
Come to find out it wasn't.
Someone out there does a GREAT Solid Snake O_o;
They ran a promo for the last episode of the season during tonight's episode; if it were a series finale rather than just a season finale, you'd think that they'd bring that up.
The way popular animated series end and then often get picked up again 2 years later, most animated shows don't advertise their "series" finale, unless they're incredibly certain its the end. Kim Possible, Futurama, Family Guy, Reboot, etc.
Even most live action shows don't commit to advertising their series finale unless its a long running major series and its an event that its ending.
They directly addressed the issue in one of the bumpers; namely that they don't know if it's the last season or not, but hope that it isn't. So they want more episodes. The high ratings show that fans are perfectly happy to continue watching it. Sony is apparently happy with the series and wants it to continue as well.
About the only person who seems to want it to end is Aaron McGruder, but that's not really surprising since he apparently got tired of the series a long time ago judging by the fate of the comic.

Happened with Chappelle too, but he grew disillusioned with his audience. Apparently it took him several years to realize his fans couldn't distinguish between the subtleties of parody and reality.
Interesting for you to bring up Chappelle. I remember reading a couple of comments he made on his Twitter about this being the final season and namedropping the guy, although apparently he deleted his Twitter or something (they were short so I remember them word for word).
"People often ask if I'll "pull a Chappelle" like retiring filthy rich is a bad thing.
Believe me, I wish I could "pull a Chappelle"…"
He said this not long after the trailer leaked, probably March or April.
I remember that. He said Sony was mad because he kept referring to season 3 as the last season.
I remember that. He said Sony was mad because he kept referring to season 3 as the last season.
I really hope it's not the last season. The Boondocks is the only non-anime show I watch on AS.
I remember that. He said Sony was mad because he kept referring to season 3 as the last season.
Yeah, and he also said that the show ending is no one's fault except for his, and that he promises to explain later. Now that the season's over I really hope he can elaborate on that very soon…Or at least on the DVD set.
Since the season is over, did you guys think it lived up to Season 1? After watching thought it on DVD, I think it does. It's just a bit depressing Huey lost his motivations to help people that won't listen anyway.
My favorite episodes this season are
-The Thugnificient episode (still the best one for me)
-The Funraiser (overall great episode. I could watch this one many times)
-The Hateocracy (the best style over substance episode)
The worst episode to me was the Red Ball(and maybe the 1st episode, and the "nigger hater" singer episode). The rest were awesome, but not my favorites.
Was Red Ball the one about Dodgeball or Kickballs or whatever?
Cuz that episode was pure visual genius.
Storywise it was weak as hell yes…
The "Nigger Hater" was funny cuz it's true :V
I loved Red Ball. Flashy but cool as hell. That final clash was epic. And that bit when the Chinese kids were insulting Huey and revealing their trick in Chinese without realizing he could understand them and then Huey retaliates by speaking back to them in Chinese and then beating the shit out of them has to be one of my favorite moments in the series.
While it was funny, I didn't like how it wrapped up. That and it's probably one for the more boring episodes. That's not saying it sucks. Just comparing it to the wealth of other episodes this season.
Red Ball had alot of awesome scenes, but had terrible "filler scenes" to take up time time. Instead of repeating over the crowd still shots many times, that time could have been spent fleshing out the members of Huey's team…(they were just there....) even a little bit could have made the weak story all the more exiting.
I didn't watch this season after the uncle ruckus country song episode. I still have to watch the rest but I felt like the soul of boondocks was gone. And really if the creator wants to stop then I am not really interested in what he's gonna produce with that mindset.
I guess he stumbled across the same problems as Chappelle.
Didn't feel like stopping since the MLK ep in season 1? Well, according the the commentary atleast. I wasn't really sure if he was joking but that particular one was pretty depressing to listen too.
I'm sure he still has the heart for it.
i liked this season better than season 2, but still not as much as the first season, which was pretty much all hits after the 'garden party' episode. i don't mind the boondocks stopping here.
mcgruder's situation is nothing like chapelle's. he isn't losing his heart for it, he literally just finds the workload to heavy. he mentioned on the commentary how hard it was for him to write an entire season worth of episodes. he said he always wanted to do seasonal hour long specials like with the peanuts, but since tv is different now, he has to write full seasons worth and it's tough for him to do.
i think a boondocks movie or something might be more up aaron's alley.
Hold onto your butts.
Boondocks is coming BACK, baby!
