I really don't have a good feeling about this. Aesthetic logic points me to horny, though. He's properly sized and his face has remained hidden to this point. Give him a logia fruit and take his mask off and the transition works out just fine. But it still seems unlikely without any sort of character development. None of them have impressed enough, and most of them haven't shown what they can do yet. Swords aren't really a deterrent for me, since Aokiji and Kizaru have both used swords of their own.

I guess the only solution is for the 3 admirals to remain and for Spandam to rise to the ranks of fleet admiral. :ninja:

I think it's too early for that. Two years are long, yes, and many things could happen, but Coby is still too young. He can't be older than 20, not even after the timeskip.

And Akainu's personality would be wasted on the FA position. He should roam the new world and kick asses. The nw-pirates had it way too comfortable up until now and he is exactly what the Marine base located there needs. I'm not sure if he could do that as a FA as much as he wants too, a higher rank also means more responsibility (and excessive bureaucracy seems to be present in OP as well, see Sengoku's goat-shredder)

Akainu is in my book just as well a plausible candidate, but what makes me slightely tend to Aokiji is that Sengokus recommendation shouldnt be just overheard by the authorities. To follow up on my question earlier I went back and read the chapters where everyone is introduced. It doesn't give their ages, so it's just assumed Luffy is 19 now since 2 years have passed? Could it be possible that he's older due to traveling time or is it not a factor?

Yeah it's just assumed Luffy is 19. And anyway, the amount of time that passes in OP is hard to measure. At best we could give rough estimates.

I agree, about Onigumo he would be awesome to see fight Zoro in the next pirate-marine war or what ever. I also think that by the time that happens Smoker will become an admiral and Luffy will have to fight him near the end of the grand line. Not sure about him getting others to help him fight the other SH's I honestly don't think he's cares about the others. The only reasons he wants to catch Luffy so much is because he got away from him the last time.

Isn't their traveling time estimated to be less than 11 months? I remember that according to that timeline thread it was around 7 months and the early arcs can't be calculated, but I doubt it was more than two months.

I don't think that if Akainu is the new FA he will just sit in his comfortable chair and give orders. Even though that's probably what a FA should do, he would just probably go ahead and do the exact opposite.
However, it can be that Aokiji has became the FA and Akainu will just "not hear" his orders and will do whatever he wants.
I can even imagine that the Marines have split in two: The Moral and the Absolute Justice. One half led by Aokiji, and the other by Akainu. But this is just a stupid speculation, please ignore it, I have nothing to prove anything about this.

I agree with you on Onigumo. His df is too interesting (even though I'm afraid of spiders) to be wasted. I can't wait for him to kick some ass with his eight swords.

Mhh, Smoker isnt exactly the ego-character who would do everything alone to get Luffy. He also travels with Tashigi and helps her get stronger where he can. He sure knows that he is one of the few who is actually capable of defeating Luffy, but i dont think that he wouldnt cooperate with others. About Akainu,IF he is the new FA it''s not a "requirement" that he might be the same as Sengoku was.He could easily "sitting" in his desk and going out for "hunting pirates" so it's not a problem.Also the fact that the new HQ is now at the NW sounds more like Akainu and not something that Aokiji could have done,but we can't say for sure atm.

It's true that it's not a "must" to have 3 Admirals, but now, being a marine is harder than ever. WB made sure more pirates will set sail before he died, the marines suffered great losses in the war…
Maybe two Admirals aren't enough. Plus it'd make people feel a little more comfortable knowing that there are still many powerful marines out there, like: "Have you heard? Vice-Admiral "insert name here" got promoted to an Admiral! He/she must be really powerful! I'm glad he/she's on our side!"

We know that VAs can be in charge of bases (Komir- G-2; Momonga- G-1), but I'm not sure about the Admirals. Sure if they want they can order hundreds of people around, but I don't think they're the ones fully responsible for all those marines. "Taking care" of that many people is not that easy.

Maybe it's like as you said it,but i am talking about us,the readers.At least for me it would be strange after so many years of "hyping" the Admirals and so many years of the VA being nothing more than just a "rank" suddenly one of them becoming Admiral.I mean if the VA,even 2-3 of them,were such a big deal the shichibukai would not be needed.My point is if PRE TS Luffy managed to take down 2 of the Shichib,and knowing that the VA are nowhere near their strenght it would be strange,for me,to see any of them as a new Admiral.

I would prefer to be 2 Admirals rather a VA getting promotion or a completely new char.But maybe Oda will come with something like,"a really strong character stays always in the NW to keep an eye,and that's why he didn't show until now in the series,in the war etc etc…Afterall who would have thought that someone like Magellan would "pop out" out of nowhere?

Well, I was hoping Oda will introduce the previous Chief Warden. He was kept off panel together with Kong in chapter 0, and since then Oda's already introduced Kong, so perhaps he will introduce the previous Chief Warden as well. If he was as strong as Magellan or even above him, what happened to him? I don't think he was killed, that's unlikely. Died of old ages? Don't think so, either. So either he decided to quit or something but became a marine, or simply left.

I understand your point, however, I disagree with you about comparing the warlords to the VAs.
First of all, you said it yourself, VAs haven't done anything really big. That's true, for now. We don't know their abilities, what they're capable of. We can't really judge them yet. I admit some of them look nothing special but there are a few who might have something up in their sleeves.
Also, the VAs can be strong even though we have the warlords. Their tasks are different. What a Warlord can do, a VA may not and so on. It's like both apples and peaches are fruits and are tasty, but one of them doesn't contain the same vitamins as the other.

Besides, I can't really understand how can somebody get promoted to an Admiral when he/she's not a Vice-Admiral. I understand if you meant a VA who's yet to be introduced.

When the chapter came out, certain people mentioned the guy trainng with the rock was Sabo, after noticing that Dragon brought someone onboard his ship with injuries (which I'm guessing is Sabo), the guy with the rock cannot be Sabo, and it kind of makes sense that he is Zoro since Dragon mentions that a local dojo lent them food and stock, being Zoros home town dojo.

Is it true buggy and shanks are brothers? I read the WB War arc last year and it never mentioned it but when I was reading vol.56 of the manga they say buggy is shanks blood brother is it a mis-type or something?
