In my Opinion Togashi's drawing skills are not really that super that we can say he is one of the greatest mangake… although even Takehiko Inouea has his fair bit of problem in this issu..
He's not a great mangaka because of his art, it's the quality of the manga as a whole.

Togashi is a good mangake that is true but I do not think he can be called great for the record. YY became famous due to its anime and hunter despite it being popular and good, I wont call him a great mangake till he finishs HXH.
no matter how good a popular manga is, VERY few people have created more than a single popular manga. The one's that do are great, hands down and that includes Togashi.

Damn, wasn't expecting Net to still have something badass in him after withering away after that epic laser/flip off spread last week. Kinda expecting the King will live but really weakened to where it could go either way with his defeat: physical or psychological. Basically if this is as badass as it sounds, the King should be like Royal Guard level or lower, i.e. defeatable by a strong character. The question is whether Togashi's going that route or if the sacrifice is meant to lead us that way but really shows the King the willpower of humans a little more, leading the King closer to being turned. I'm not so sure of my theory any more lol
I'm fairly sure Netaro is going to die now, but Togashi will let Netaro go in style. My question is, who is going to become the next chairman after Netaro, and have we met them yet?
No, but we have heard of him this arc. There was a point earlier when Morau was complaining that the Hunter's organization was not following his recommendations as to what hunters to send to help clean up the lesser ants. At the time, he mentioned the VP of the hunter's organization was overriding his recommendation and giving the jobs to hunter's based on money. He also (I think) makes a speculation that the VP might be purposefully trying to botch the situation and use it as an excuse to move against Netero. I think we may see something about that later, with a new president taking over the changing the hunter's organization in ways that pisses people off.

It sounds like a great chapter, and if the king is dead (which I doubt) then the royal guards are going to be harder to kill. I'm not sure I like how it happened though. After he said last chapter, "I'm not alone" I was hoping for something different then just, I have a bomb in me too. I thought maybe that he could do some trick based on all the people he had defeated over the years. Oh, and PLEASE let the guy who put the bomb in be leorio!

Wow, this chapter totally kicked ass. Getting something like this on OP's off week is as much as I could ask for.
It's hard to predict what happened to the king since Togashi always seems to get me off balance with unexpected developments. My best guess is that he's heavily wounded, but I'm unsure even of that. At the very least, I'm hoping he'll have Netero's sacrifice be well worth it.
I like how Oda and Togashi have both recently killed off important characters while Kubo and Kishi have just stood around with thier thumbs up thier asses saying "deerp"

Good chapter. Think I may have to give it repeated reads before it becomes "great" though. I think it's impossible for me to view it as great yet just because I'm so anxious to see the outcome of the next chapter.

Or at least, this is what goes through my mind after too many years of anime. Lots of smoke usually leads to a reveal that the villain is fine afterwards. But… this IS Togashi. He just might have actually killed the king right then, and is letting the other ants all go berserk, which is actually even more unpredictable and interesting than just having a main leader to deal with.
Though if the king survives, I'm sure he'll be suitably impressed and decide "Humans aren't to be fucked with. He could have done that in the compund and gotten all of us. Or they could have man more such things."

If this is gonna kill him, I think he'd have a final send-off as he's dying in the arms of his soldiers next chapter. Wish Netero had that>.>…You know, a couple of flash-back panels as he's being incinerated? Netero was a high-level character introduced early on and I would have liked his character to have a tad more resolution no matter how cool and bad-ass that send-off was.
On another note, this chapter made me realize perfectly the exact importance of proper execution. Netero, if you strip everything to its barest, just did a suicide bomb move that you find in countless other series (including Naruto) and can be potentially quite lame. But the way it was handled with the badass puncturing your own heart move and the double-page explanation of the bomb and the point on how humans shouldn't be underestimated and the wake-upcall it provided for the King if he's not dead yet, yep perfect execution, awesome way to finish off the King if he died.
Seems like if the king is dead than the royal guards are going to de-evolve mentally into being loyal ants again. Which yes they are loyal since there the royal guards but what i'm saying is that there brains will work like a common insect, that evolution to becoming more and more "human like" is surely dwindling away and this will prove as a positive for the protagonists and not a negative.

It looks like the king's helmet came off in the last panel.
The spoilers recently have been done by someone who doesn't seem to read HXH and leaves out all the nuances and just talks about plot related stuff. And that "blank double page spread" was a fake one that took parts from real ones to make it seem real.
Plus what they're talking about in the spoilers can be tricky, too, because they're usually sentence fragments and you can't tell who's talking or what's being talked about.
Wow, that had to be one of the most badass deaths that I have ever seen! Tearing at your own heart and then exploding? Awesome…..just awesome. I think that Jairo is going to get a hold of the remaining Rose bombs somehow. Togashi gave way too much of an explanation on it just for it to be a throwaway plot device.
Well, I don't think Jairo will round them all up but it won't be too hard.. Togashi made it sound like those things were still around in big supply stored away and it won't be hard to get one. Also, I know now why Novu was so confident. He commented at one point that once Netero had cornered the king that it was over, as if the fight wasn't the point. It remains to be seen that the kind is dead, but I think some of them (Morau and Novu knew what was up). Honestly I have no clue what will happen. I'll be disappointed if the king is alive, Netero is about the toughest thing that they can throw at the king, it doesn't sound likely that the ants will grant any of the new respect towards humans now, and if the king is gone, then they still have the issue of the royal guards, who are still stronger than anyone else at the palace. That giant blank panel (lol) is one of the better shots in this arc. I wonder what Pitou will do once she/he hears about it. I will assume Pitou would finish fixing Komugi, or maybe she will just lunge at Gon in an instant. For some reason I'm convinced that the event we have just seen will null any deal she made with Gon and Kaito is finally screwed.
Good chapter I really felt the despair and panic of the ants.
As for what next I really can't tell:
A- The King is still alive and well and like I said earlier he'd be a new world force to be reckoned with.
B- The King is still alive but he suffered some bizarre damage, (like memory loss or something)…
C- The King is dead and the royal guards will wreak havoc....
Or D- ............ (whatever you might think bro)
I also can't see the King turn into a "good"-guy like some of you suggest - He already made a huge evolution: humans were just cattle, good to eat; then you had some humans who were worthy of living.
First he didn't know for what purpose he was living and now he knows that he who has the genes of almost all species must stand on top of this world to regulate things for every species (whereas humans just regulate things for themselves).
It was said that almost 250 states still have MR bombs in their arsenal. So to get them all - you have to what, conquer the world?

That's mostly the issue with text summaries. Without the appropriate detail they sound uneventful, boring, dumb etc. However the chapter itself often proves the assumptions wrong. For example, almost every spoiler of Impel Down seemed to be dissapointing at first for me - only to turn much better afterwards.

He's the leader of NGL who uses the state's environmental values as a cover for drug smuggling and production. He was turned into an ant but had such a strong will that he became completely independent and went somewhere to do God knows what. There was a chapter or two that was pretty much a quick look at his life. Hell if I could remember which one was it though. In short, he's one of the world's most notorious crime lords. Also, he may or may not match the King in terms of strength.
