Brook has another thing going for him that all the Strawhats with Devil Fruits have(or had when they first appeared). A hat. Luffy has a hat. Chopper has a hat. Robin had a hat. Brook was seen with his hat when he first appeared. There for he will join.

That was the Captain of the Lumba Pirates. Brooke was not the Captain of his ship. And all we saw was a vague shadow in a cowboy hat shaking hands with Crocus, anyway.

Brook wasn't the owner, he just happened to be on the crew that Laboon traveled with. Besides, Oda himself said that he had Brook in mind when he did the Laboon arc. That wasnt a guess made by the person you quoted, it's fact.

Plus they clearly showed him in the anime without the hat on. He was just some average bushi pirate man with short blond hair.

Having the idea for Brook doesn't mean Thriller Bark. Oda said, I believe, that he imagined a skeleton. Not the whole arc.

Oda said he had a "Skeleton Musician" idea to use since Laboon for Laboon, but he didn't have the design entirely worked out. The Afro wasn't there yet.

It goes without saying now that Oda was a fan of NBC and Brook is obviously inspired by Jack– "musical skeleton", geddit? Maybe he did have that idea in mind the whole time but didn't finalize his design until a while after.
I'm certain he's thought about what the entire complete crew will look like for a long time now and that they've changed in small (or large) ways over time.
So yeah, I'm sure he has had the idea since Laboon or earlier.

I think brook wuz solidified as a strawhat the moment he threw luffy off the mast at oz, lol, you can't join in a combined attack with the entire strawhat crew and toss the captain off a biulding without becoming a strawhat yourself.

Well, it's a good thing your not Oda, cause that wouldnt fit with the story. Brook said that Laboon loved his afro, that's why he wants to protect it. The crew left Laboon at the mountain, so if he grew it afterwards then he wouldnt kno about it.

Well, the one thing that sets Brook apart from Vivi, he has a dream that he must fufill. Sure Vivi wanted to be a pirate, but her main goal was to save her people, and she did. Brook (and the rest of his dead crew) promised to return to Laboon after they traveled the Grand Line, and as the only surviving member Brook must carry on**.** Plus, this will stop Luffy whinning about a musican. Oda originally planned the series to last 5 years, so he may have already planned most of the crew (hence the saying he had a Musical Skeleton planned). Yet, he could join, or could not join. We will never know. Oh, and even though Brook is a skeleton, there is also a human/raindeer and a speed-o wearing cyborg traveling along with them. Plus most people may think Brook is in a costume (until provin other wise).

Actually he would be #11, if you count Carue as well.
I really didn't care for him too much until he was animated. But now Brook's amazing, and I definitely hope that he permanently joins.
