Maybe I'm a little too anti-APForumsHakiRetard but I don't think Luffy was sent to Amazon Lily in order to learn Haki. I just think Kuma sent him there so he could saved, though still avoid that Luffy returns to Grand Line (the Calm Belt is hard to escape from).

And Kuma asked Rayleigh to trust him because of his loyality to the government. Rayleigh probably normally wouldn't believe that Kuma wanted to help the Straw Hats.

Only because Luffy is somewhat familiar with Boa's secret mark, does not necessarily mean they have a deeper relation than is apparent. Why is it so hard to understand?

I am not saying thatit is impossible for Boa to be related to Luffy. All I am saying is that we should not jump to that conclusion based on Luffy's familiarity with the mark alone.

That's just the starting point. It obviously isn't going to be something comepletely unimportant, so the connection already estabished, however obscure it could be in theroy, becomes something of atleast moderate significance.

I'm reluctant to think Boa is related to Luffy, mainly becuase she's a merciless bitch with hardly any compassion for others especially her comrades. Which is a total opposite of Luffy and his family (what we've see so far).

I for one after reading this thread believe that she could in fact be Luffy and Ace's mother, but by doing nothing in the fight against the Whitebeard pirates is actually her way of helping her son by giving the advantage to the Whitebeard pirates by the lack of her presence in the battle.

She cannot actively go against the WG either, and if she did then not only would she loose her status as a warlord but also warrant Amazon Lily to be destroyed, not just made a target again for anyone crazy or strong enough to take them on.

But she's a TOTAL bitch, I don't see the connection at all, at least not yet. We need to see more chapters to be fair.

Well considering Kuma whispered something to Rayleigh and Rayliegh replied with a offhand why should I trust you remark. Kuma was obviously up to something.

Of course we're going to be left hanging on what exactly they talked about until Rayleigh appears again in the story.

I think this connection or "relationship" would have to be distant but strong & possibly emotional, like Boa bieng Rodger's girlfriend, or Olivia's friend, etc..

Also the king Haki could be an aspect of the "Will of D." implying it's Boa D. Hancock.

But then again I might be wrong, i.e predicting Oda like catching air in your fists.

Hmm, why indeed? Perhaps he felt, as others have suggested before, that he would be imprisoned and/or killed for his actions in sending them out of Kizaru's grasp. There is also the possibility that Vagapunk will remove whatever is left of Kuma's humanity and make him a robotic slave of the WG. Or maybe he's going to get a couple of XXXXXL suits and team up with Urouge to tour the Grand Line as the Blues Brothers. I have no idea.

I also think that luffy and hancock have or will have a connection.
Either she is really his mother or in some kind of connection to Dragon or she will become his fiance. I totally know that all this is only speculation until more details are given.

First of Luffy has to impress Boa Hancock so that he can return with their ship.
Second Luffy has to have a final influence in Hancocks desicion to join or neglect the Whitebeard fight. I think the most probably way is that she becomes friend with luffy and then starts to give up her Shishibukai rank and becomes a normal pirate again.
She seems to have high ambitions, she lets herself call pirate empress, she looks so much down on others and now she has the same haki like luffy, the king haki. So after hearing Luffys name und Luffys ambition I can see her making a deal with him of becoming his wife after he becomes Pirateking to be PirateQueen. It is not bad, that her later husband cannot be turned in stone by her and does not fall that easy in love to her like the other men or women. Reasons Oda will give, either way, if she is his mother or will become his wife or Oda finds another way.

ok its been a few days but it suddenly hit me
luffy's pain was endured because his will and determination allowed him to do so.
People pass out when pain gets far too much yet luffy continued battling through until his enemies defeat

Zoro with both a simular will and goal, also fights pushing through the limits of pain to achieve strength the only way to do so is to have the will power to do so

Now luffy has a rubber body so the will needed to contain that damage isn't great, but with gears Luffy is physically pushed past any normal human being limits

now Zoro took the pain of a person who was made of rubber (mean luffy could take alot more damage and pain) yet he still survived the pain, staying awake for sanji to find him and waking up 2 days later (faster than luffy normally takes to recover)
Zoro was also overcoming the pain he contained himself through will power as he fought kuma.

My theory is that the only reason why Zoro survived luffy and his own pain through will power is because he has the same will/haki as luffy

i don't think it's the same colour but i think its both king haki

I think Zoro has a demonic version of the king haki same as silver

I think if he didn't have the will/haki of the same type of luffy then he would have died from taking the pain, i believe kuma knew this and Zoro figured this out and thats why he thanked him, i believe Zoro realises the change he's going through in terms of will power and i think we maybe seeing a mini story for Zoro straight after luffys to show this and prove my theory right.

1. Basically Zoro is a tough guy.

2. Human will pass out (shut down) to protect ourself when they can't bear the pain.

3. When Luffy give Moria his last shot, he thought he already get his job done, so he deserve a rest… Luffy don't even know the exist of Kuma in Thriller Bark. Zoro have to safe guide his nakama when his captain is down. He stay conscious is a sign of worrying that Kuma and others threat will come back to them...

4. We also don't expect Pell stay alive after the bomb blasted..

Well, about Zoro being able to handle it….I guess it's just because he's a very strong person all around(meaning emotionally, mentally and physically). Because Luffy's body is made out of rubber, then the damage he takes from physical hits is far less than a normal person. So really, the hits that he took don't feel nearly as painful as they would if a normal person felt it.

If that was kind of fuzzy, let me put it like this.

Let us say that an attack on a normal person would do 100 points of damage. Well, since Luffy is rubber, then his natural defense would automatically subtract 90 points away from the total damage points, thus meaning he would only receive 10 points of damage. So the pain that Luffy takes is dramatically less than the pain that a normal person would take.

So basicly, Zoro was able to take it because 1) He already has a high pain tolerance and has a lot of endurance as well as 2) the damage he took was actually less than what the attacks would have been on a normal person because we all know he couldn't survive a punch from Asgard Moria.

I was going to post this in "Theories that don't deserve their own thread" but seeing the number of posts,I decided to create a new thread. & sorry, if this has already been suggested somewhere please point me to it.

The questions are

Why did Kuma (a shichibukai) send Luffy to Amazon Island, away from the threat of Kizaru (a marine Admiral), in effect saving Luffy's life?

Why did Kuma ask Rayleigh (a crew of the former pirate king) to trust him in this decision?

You actually bring up some(1) very good point, the Kings disposition!

I think the answer lies in Haoushoku (king's disposition), using Haki/Spirit/Aura to magnify a commanding voice.
I believe Kuma wants luffy to become stronger by learning how to control Haki from the Amazon Islanders.

What if Gol. D. Roger had the Kings Disposition?
What if Kuma knew about this and knows that Luffy is destined to be the Pirate King because of this latent and quite ambiguous ability?
What if Kuma while knowing the stated above, knew that if Luffy continued in the battle he more than likely would have been killed, and it is detrimental to the world that Luffy become the next Pirate King?

So many unanswered questions, One Piece is really going to be very interesting these next upcoming chapters!

It makes sense when the theory isn't good enough to merit it's own thread. If it weren't for this thread there'd be 20-40 miscellaneous/random/theory threads that's wouldn't generate much discussion.

If you don't like it, tough. It'll happen again and keep happening if you keep making theory threads that aren't good enough or better yet deserve to have their own threads.

As for what's good enough I guess it would depend on how much discussion it brings coupled with the support you bring along with the theory.

On a side note nobody really gives a fuck how Zoro was able to survive taking Luffy's pain, it most likely won't be explained anyway. The fact is he did and it never raised thousands of questions of how he was able to other than he's badass, he's strong, and he probably has a high threshold for pain. Something as trivial as that wouldn't need it's own thread.

As for the mod moving it here and it being rude, so what. This is not Lambchop's play along…..........

Yea it's all part of Roger's grand plan for a 2nd life since he got screwed with that incurable disease.

I think that the "luffy takes less pain cause he has a rubber body" idea is now over. We will now see a lot of people able to use haki (yes stop whining about it) and therefor luffy will take much more pain if he fight them.

Ummm…Ace has the WB Pirate insignia on his back. And, even if Boa was a former WB pirate, there seems to be no rule requiring all WB pirates to flaunt a WB tatoo.

Other than that, Boa getting spurned by Ace would be funny, in a way. Not many people can resist her charm.

But if a thread was created for every one of these theories, there would be wayy too many topics coming up and going down. Better to stick with one thread for those theories that aren't groundbreaking, and discuss them to death there. It's not like they won't get discussed.

I understand that part, but like I said it'd make more sense if they linked the theories they moved in the original post, or even if they just sticky the thread so everyone knows they're supposed to use it, and instead of calling it theories that don't deserve their own thread, just theories thread, because I'm sure everyone who comes up with a theory thinks they deserve a thread.
It'd save work for the mods I think.

Meh don't know what the big deal is. If anyone has modded at other forums before. Thread consolidation is standard practice. If you have a big theory thread and other smaller theory threads pop up then they just merged into the bigger thread. A mod doesn't have to send you a PM everytime they do something like that.

Something I realized in this arc is that everytime Luffy says : " Oh if Franky was here …" " Oh Chopper could do that " , " Sanji , Food !" etc ...

I think he was sent there to see that he alone cannot become king , however , Luffy already knows that .
So maybe there's something more , well ... We'll klnow in a few weeks , at least I hope. :D
