Possible connections between luffy, Kuma, Rayleigh, & Boa
I was going to post this in "Theories that don't deserve their own thread" but seeing the number of posts,I decided to create a new thread. & sorry, if this has already been suggested somewhere please point me to it.
The questions are
- Why did Kuma (a shichibukai) send Luffy to Amazon Island, away from the threat of Kizaru (a marine Admiral), in effect saving Luffy's life?
- Why did Kuma ask Rayleigh (a crew of the former pirate king) to trust him in this decision?
I think the answer lies in Haoushoku (king's disposition), using Haki/Spirit/Aura to magnify a commanding voice.
I believe Kuma wants luffy to become stronger by learning how to control Haki from the Amazon Islanders. -

Me and my sister were discussing this just recently. Ever since the end of Enies Lobby, we thought Ussop's development did not really disappear. While he was back in the crew I felt as if he was thinking about the things he had to make up for. In other words, he's currently stiving for a bigger position in the crew to make up for his mistakes.
For some reason, even though he may be the weakest, he's a perfect candidate for Luffy's right hand man. After looking at though the chapters, he seems to be a bit more competive to reach Zoro's trust level(not power). I may be reading into things too deeply, but it's fun to predict Oda.
I did not feel like making a topic for this since I'm only a newbie on this site, and new topics aren't taken lightly.

I would put Teach in WB's league, when you're saying"someone else on Ace's level or higher as well as Ace" who do you mean?
I meant someone else as strong as Ace was, and I can't put Blackbeard anywhere on a strength list except Shichibukai. Other than that, I can't say he can beat Whitebeard until he actually does or at least is in a fight with him and we can see how it's going.

I don't agree. Sure, Blackbeard could beat Ace pretty badly but I don't think that he could take his whole crew. Until I see more of what he can do against other strong opponents then I don't see anything that really supports this.
It just mean that Teach has the ability to kill Shanks.
When Shanks came to see WB he didn't know that Teach eated the Yami Yami no Mi and still he knew that even without DF Teach would defeat Ace who got more strenght than Luffy and is an Fire Logia(in my opinion the greatest Logia Fruit after Thunder and Ice). I am not saying that Shanks is afraid of Teach but he will surely never chase him, he even when to the extent of fighting WB because he wouldn't call Ace back. That's why I think WB is the only one stronger than Teach.Kill? Maybe, but like I said, I haven't seen the evidence that would prove to me that he can kill Shanks who is one of the most powerful pirates in the One Piece world. And Ace was strong, but still not the strongest. Now, regards to Shanks not chasing him…well think about it. He's a Yonkou. He is the leader of a large number of pirates that are competing with three other very powerful pirate crews as well as staving off the World Government. Someone of Shanks' level couldn't be bother to just go after one man by himself. Not only would he possibly lose his place as a Yonkou because someone might try to take his position while he's gone but the government would probably be on his tail.
I agree with Amfrbl with the part that he was trying to change Whitebeard's mind because he knows how he is. If something would happen to Ace then he would go crazy and that's just what happened. Now, Blackbeard will have his shot at toppling Whitebeard and everything will fall into chaos.

well sorry about that, i just consider it a possibility, (ed:) of course i shouldve kept writing it all as possibilities.
She probably would know that she got a second son if she know about the first, but remember that Luffy is still a newcomer, while Ace has been quite famous for a while. . I don't think he needs to have been sent there on purpose, but OP is still filled with a lot of convenient coincidences. About hancock hating men, that should go for the entire population of Amazon Lily, though they still need to reproduce, regardless of their emotions. Still, a lot might have changed since the birth of Luffy, maybe she wasn't that filled with the hatred towards men at the time, and she probably wasn't yet the leader of the Kuja pirates.I know these theories are getting quite lame, but there's a pretty big probability that luffys mother will be revealed at some point in the series. Not saying that this is some kind of perfect occasion for that, and not that it would be hancock for certain. But by the current looks of it, Luffy won't get onto a ship by just asking for it, and to think Luffy would wipe out another shichibukai is surely possible, but not that likely, considering the authority Oda have given them. So id say a turning point should be coming up. But then again, seeing Hancock as such an ass, it would be quite hard for Luffy to accept her as his mother.

Okay, I hope I phrase this properly - one would be immune to one's mother's charms only if he knew that she was his mother, and vice versa. Luffy is just to emotional for friends to sway to female charms.

One in a million is really not that big a deal. If One Piece world reflects real wold in size (and we have seen OP world to be vast), then there may be hundreds of millions of people in the OP world. Going by that, one in million out of hundred million would mean roughly 100 people. That "one in a million" thing is more a figure of speech. Two peopl having same Haki does not mean they have to be related. If so was the case then the Kujas (who know quite a lot about Haki) would have instantly realized there was some relation between Luffy and Boa. More importantly, Boa's own sisters dont have King Haki. Chances are that we will see more people with King Haki.

Its a risk, even if Boa was Luffy's mother. Let's face it, Boa's a bitch (pardon the slang). She has no mercy, and too full of herself. And, Luffy does not actually hang a "Dragon's my dad" sign round his neck. Kuma would have had no way of knowing that Boa (if she was Lufffy's mother) would recognize her son. They might just end up killing each other, without having a chance to introduce themselves.

LOL I guess you don't know what a connection is then. His statement stands it could be anything and it wouldn't mean those two are directly connected. His example was actually perfect you could interchange the POTC with almost anything else.

My flaming for POTC was a sidenote, the main point was we had a connection in that we both were rabid fans of POTC.

That argument is unfounded as the Amazon Lily pirates and islanders have to go off the island and have sex with a man to even get their daughters to continue the population of the island regardless of their hatred of men. The same would go for Boa Hancock.
I for one after reading this thread believe that she could in fact be Luffy and Ace's mother, but by doing nothing in the fight against the Whitebeard pirates is actually her way of helping her son by giving the advantage to the Whitebeard pirates by the lack of her presence in the battle.
She cannot actively go against the WG either, and if she did then not only would she loose her status as a warlord but also warrant Amazon Lily to be destroyed, not just made a target again for anyone crazy or strong enough to take them on.

Nope. Nobody flamed you for flaming PotC. Like Zik says, replace PotC with anything else, and my argument stands. I don't need to be a rabid fan of PotC. All I would need to vaguely recognize a Jack Sparrow tatoo is watching the trailers a couple of times.
What it means is that whatever Boa has on her back, Luffy had come across it somewhere else. We don't know where, how or when. But, at this point we cannot jump to conclusions and say that the mark on Boa's back make Boa and Luffy related.
Let's say, what Boa has on her back is something Luffy had seen in Skypiea. That doesn't mean anything, except that Boa probably had been to Skypeia at some point of time.
"Connection" is a vague thing. You and me are "connected" by that we are fans of OP. Beyond that, we don't care much for each other. We don't know each other, and surely won't miss each other if we stop visiting these forums. Such "connection" mean absolutely nothing.
