I (and pretty much everyone else connected to the 'scene') have noticed a general trend with comic book movie trilogies(and some from other genre's aswell). They almost, always have terrible final films. Heres my take on it;
First movie is pretty much setting the scene, introducing the characters, possible future villians, etc. The action only really happens in the last 30-40 minutes. It's a decent sucess, and most likely ends with a cliffhanger into the second.
The second, because of the sucess of the first now has a chance to really 'up the anti', probably has a bigger buget to work with, and gets excellent reviews all around.
Now, this leaves the third with alot of expectations to out-do the first and second. I think this is why movies such as Spiderman 3 failed, trying to work with three villians and falling flat on its face.
So, with this in mind, should there be a 'Batman 3'?
