Sogeking and Mr. Prince. The Sentai team of Epic. >: 3
This is something that never would happen.
sanji learning rankyaku(i forgot how its spelled) would be advantageous for him since his attacks too can fly,, same with zoro,, having such powerful kicks he'll be owning enemies and might be able to cut a warship with it,, lol…
ussop should have some improvements such as using real bullets for gods sake,, he's in the GL he should use bullets though,, his attack will improve 1 step...
for chopper its better if he will be able to maximize the use of his rumble balls lengthening the time of use to more than an hour and be able to mix several point such as jump and arm point at the same time without going insane and loosing control,, its better that way since he wont be taken lightly by enemies...
to franky having some major improvements to his body making his back fullmetal with the help of ussop to improve his attaks using dials with the addition of impact and reject dial to him would definitely make him strong...
and nami to learn suru or some combination techniques will improve her attacks...
to robin learning shigan like what you guys said,, damn... shes gonna be strong... having many arms doing shigan its like a guttling gun,, lol...
zoro,, might learn how to use suru since a swordsman needs incredible speed to make a swift attack,, it would be difficult for the enemy to counter his attacks if he would strike them before the could figure out...
luffy mastering gear 2nd,, where in he doesnt get tired using it and he can use it for as long as he want,, and flying attacks like shigan would do...
to our newest member brooke,, i dont think i could add anything to him since we dont know anything of his fighting style...
i hope franky would add some awesome weapon to sunny like a cannon area at the mast that spins 360 deg horizontally and controlled by ussop... the hark sub must have some torpedoes too it doesnt look good when the penguins in lovely land chase them like cowards... its good if the would also fight back...
all are simply my speculations,, lol...
sanji learning rankyaku(i forgot how its spelled) would be advantageous for him since his attacks too can fly,, same with zoro,, having such powerful kicks he'll be owning enemies and might be able to cut a warship with it,, lol…
I agree with you that Sanji needs some long-range moves… but please just a simple copy of Rankyaku... He could spam it more than CP9 did it.
usopp useing bullets would be a step backwards. that would mean that he cant use all the different kinds of ammonution he is useing now. even if he could make them all in bullet form (which i find unlikely) his reloading time would increase quite a bit. that shuriken attack he did against Luffy would be completly impossible (or was that anime only?)
and how exactly would the dials work with a gun?
A mistaken assumption that since Usopp's bounty is equal to what Luffy's was when he beat Arlong, Usopp could also beat Arlong.
No. No, no, no. Sogeking got his bounty for burning the flag. Hell, Nami at least beat up Kalifa and only got 16.
Just look at how Arlong fought and I really believe that the only members that COULDN'T beat Arlong now are Robin and Brooke.
SERIOUSLY.
I think Robin could take Arlong out in a matter of seconds.
@AWB:
I think Robin could take Arlong out in a matter of seconds.
Doubtful. She had trouble holding the fat guy from skypiea with at least a dozen arms. Arlong could effortlessly lift a house. There's quite a difference in strength. If she tried to strangle him like Moria he'd rip off the limbs holding him or simply bite through them. And remember that injuries her extra limbs sustain also affect her real body.
Nami seems like a more likely character to get development in the coming arc, but Sanji also could.
As mentioned by some, this arc could result in him finding out some information about the location of All Blue, if nothing else.
whos really "shined" other than luffy in most arcs?
TB- zoro
W7- ussop
maybe it is time for sanji… or nami. chronologically speaking. i dont see chopper coming out to shine...
And remember that injuries her extra limbs sustain also affect her real body.
I think only the pain transfers, not the actual damage
how would a broken arm feel if the pain is transferred to you? wouldn´t it be the exact same pain as if you really broke it?
how would a dozen broken arms at once feel?
think you get where i´m going.
I think only the pain transfers, not the actual damage
Well here we can see Robin's hand bleeding a bit. We don't see how her sprouted arm was injured but it does prove physical damage is transferred along with pain.
i cant even see the logic of being a hit man like ussop if your enemy wont die after hitting them with your weapon!!!
being a sniper,, he should kill his enemy from long ranged attacks using such attacks his enemy dies even before they would reach him…
if he cant kill his F***ing enemy with his ranged attacks he wont improve since he would be killed somehow if it reaches him...
if he could inflict severe damage to the enemy with his ranged attacks then its impossible for the enemy to lay hands on our sniper...
whats the use of a sniper in a crew if he doesnt reduce the amount of enemy in the first place,, but instead he just slows them with some weak attacks and somehow make the enemy dizzy or so... in the old ages archers serves as front liner to reduce the amount of enemy of the opposite plank,, this is to help the ground soldiers in their fight... in that way,, they reduce the amount of enemy not by doing tricks like what ussop is doing but by hitting the enemy with fatal attacks on critical parts,, by this they support the back of the plank...
if ussop doesnt kill his enemy same as in a quickdraw he wont improve for me... like yassops fight with daddy yassop shot daddy and hit him with a bullet,, a slingshot in the GL will not slow the enemy...
like in the lovely land part ussop kept on hitting the figure skater guy with his attacks but only makes the enemy dizzy for sometime and continues to attack them,, this is what i ment by just slowing the enemy and doesnt stop them... its his major weak point he's incapable of doing fatal blows by using tricks thats what makes him weak he's afraid of reality,, he thinks its just a game and to think that he cant kill and cant manage to inflict severe damage made him dependent on his nakama in times of trouble,, wherein most of the time he should do things on his own since they might not be around in such moments.
@lil:
i dont see chopper coming out to shine…
He actually shined in Thriller Bark Arc, by confronting Hogback.
Reading the last ten responses…
Are some of you forgetting that Bounties are a threat level and not a power level again? :wassat:
Angel emfrbl: No, no one is forgetting that. Imitorar thought Skarlath did, but that was not the case.
Jakalox: Then my friend you will most likely be VERY disappointed with the future of OP. Because if you had paid any attention so far you would have noticed that the strawhats very rarely kill anybody. the only thing i can think of is Zoro being acused of killing the bounty hunters of whiskey peak, and I consider that kind of questionable. Every other villain has been left knocked out.
Usopp had a golden opourtunity to do whatever he wanted with Perona (I'm talking about killing or crippeling people not about rapeing her… SHAME on you!) But he left her like that after he scared her so bad she fainted.
Usopp is VERY unlikely to ever kill anyone in the series.
And I have no idea about the events in your examples as I suspect those were anime only.
In regards to Jakalox-san's reply, I think he can be fairly classed as someone who wants the series of "One Piece" to be more 'kick-ass!112' like "Naruto" (or as I like to call it, now, "Sasuke pwnz everyone!2121lol").
After all, ranting that Usopp doesn't kill people, and that equating to his lack of survivability in the Grand Line is fairly immature. (Don't flame me on this, I do have my reasons, as I'm going to explain, no nya.)
Usopp is minded fairly like Luffy. And as one can see, Luffy is not one to kill his enemy. Oh, yes, he may feel like killing the enemy, because they anger him that much, but he won't do it.
The view that Usopp should be killing his opponents left right and centre with bullets is, in my opinion (again, merely my opinion, don't flame me, and take it as me stating it as fact, please), a view that goes hand in hand with that of death being the worst punishment.
I won't go into detail on my personal reasoning about death not being the ultimate punishment, but instead I will take it from the Oda-Luffy view: Death is a cop-out, an easy way out. There is no sense of suffering or punishment, when they are dead,. Because one can't ever really know what happens after death, whether that is it and nothing more, or whether they go to Heaven or become reincarnated (whatever your personal preference of belief may be). No matter what you believe happens next, you yourself can't know what happens next, without dying.
Since you can't know what happens to yourself in death, there is absolutely no way to know what happens to someone else, and so you can't know whether they are suffering, or being punished in death.
Therefore, Luffy's view of leaving the opponent alive allows for a punishment that they can know about to take place (i.e. seeing their dreams get crushed). A similar view can be taken by Usopp.
Usopp is a person who takes pride as a matter of great seriousness, like Zoro and Sanji. He takes it as a great offence if he is doubted in this area, in his status as a "man". What better punishment for Usopp to inflict on an opponent (most likely one who would throw doubt on his pride/skills) than to preserve their life and destroy any chance of their pride?
Usopp, as we have seen in various moments of his humility, is a negative person, who is very critical of himself, after all. He has a lack of self-esteem, and this can be used against the opponent, along with his belief in pride.
"Ahh, you said I had no pride as a man? But you've been defeated by a man who is probably weaker than you by far! Where can your pride be?" That sort of angle.
Anyways, I'm starting to ramble, and it's best not to spend my first post on the forum on a non-stop rant/ramble, so I'd best wrap this up. In short:
Anyways, that's my "little" first post over and done with. Hope I haven't bored people senseless. ^_^;; No nya.
Ussops Kabuto is better than a gun anyway. This is proven in Enies Lobby…
you might be right but in enies lobby spandam stood up after being hit 2x or 3x if im not mistaken!!! that is why i would like to see a ussop using some "kick ass" weapon that can make the enemy sleep for sometime and not regaining consciousness during the fight,, its boring to see people being hit head shot and still standing strong,, its impossible!
…. most things that happen in this manga are impossible =P
Look what happened to Usopp dureing Arabasta.
Hmm, fair enough Jakalox. Can definitely see where you're coming from, but I doubt it'll happen

dude… people get hit with "kick ass" weapons all the time 2 or 3 times and still stand up strong. Look at Paulie throughout water 7, he got shot a few times and then stabbed. He's FINE. Don't get me started on Soddam and Gamorah either.
Besides Usopp was fighting people on the Bridge of Hesitation and I'm pretty sure they went down. Kabuto is just as/if not more powerful than about any long range weapon we've seen so far.
Furthermore, incredible stamina, shown after instances like getting hit with "kick-ass weapons" (and because of the constant quotation marks showing up now, I can't help but think that I've started the use of it as a pejorative term…) is commonplace in the shounen genre, just like near impossible figures on girls and other things that escape my head just now. So why that's a point to be used in the argument that Usopp needs to forsake creativity and potential for a little more power is beyond me, no nya.
Plus, seeing people just falling to sleep or whatever you want to happen all the time would be just as boring, no nya.
Aaaaaaanyways, moving back onto topic somewhat...
I think Gyojin Island might be a nice place to develop Sanji's character some more. Not so much as in just giving him more screentime, but helping his character some more. e.g. Zoro wasn't getting any more screentime than the other Straw Hats, but he got a heck of a lot more development, in Thriller Bark.
Although the one character who needs the most out of Gyojin Island is obviously Nami, due to two reasons:
What I'm most interested in Nami is seeing her dealing with friendly Fishmen.
She'll obviously be apprehensive towards any of them given her past experiences, so it would be a good place for development to see her dealing with some Fishmen who are nothing like Arlong at all.
I guess I'm the only one willing to bet that Nami's smart enough to not expect all Mermen to be exactly like Arloing
If she does, then she's racist.
._.
If anything, I think Nami's more worried about "Arlong's buddies" finding out about what the strawhats did to him.
But I hope the fishmen who knew Arlong are smart enough to not get mad for something they knew was going to happen someday after Arlong and Jimbei left the island to become pirates. They getting mad would be like WoopSlap declaring War to the WG if Luffy got captured and sent to Impel Down.

I don't expect Nami to be racist.
However, from a very young age she was put in a position where all the Fishmen she saw were evil. She saw her mother killed by them, and was then forced through a very hard life.
I'm not saying she'll instantly assume all of them are evil, but there's a lot of emotional baggage she'll have to deal with, because of all the connections she'll have in her mind.
There will be some reaction from Nami about the Fishmen, we just don't know what type of reaction we will get.
All I know is Jinbei will be the highlight of the entire arc.
I just know that something fun and unexpected is going to happend at Fishmen island - like Smoker fighting Jimbei or something like that.

No one cares about Arlong…
No one cares about Arlong…
I say they will not find fishmen at Fishman Island.
Now, nobody would see that one coming from Oda.
All the Strawhats get a decent amount of attention in each arc. Someone already pointed out that Sanji's usefulness seems to be "sneak attacks" because of his lack of recognition. He'll probably continue to sneak up and around the enemy when the other Strawhats are in a tough situation to help them out of it and even the odds.
Just the same as Robin's always been the intellectual crewmember that informs the crew of various things about their surroundings.
Chopper's been the goofy sidekick like character that finds fighting hard, but also wants to prove his bravery.
Usopp's usefulness is in his lack of courage until a very critical moment- he holds off opponents with his antics and then if he really can't take them, someone else will step in and help him out with a powerboost for needing to protect him.
Nami's the one who should really get some spotlight, if anyone, but even she has the whole "love interest" thing going for her. And her ability to avoid fighting without outright running from an opponent- if navigating wasn't enough.
I think people went a little overboard with Zoro after the whole deal with Kuma in the first place. Yes, that was an insanely awesome show of his character, but it's just a flashier version of what he's been about from the beginning- he's ALWAYS been the one to stand strong with his Captain and he'd take a bullet for him in a heartbeat. That's not to say the others wouldn't but, well, he's stronger than they are (although I was kind of annoyed by the fact that Sanji was KO'd so easily- seriously Oda? I know he was weak, but one strike from Zoro's hilt and he's just knocked out?). Zoro's display of loyalty beats his previous ones, but I don't really think Thriller Bark, as a whole, gave any character too much more spotlight than others- heck, even Luffy had less really cool stuff in this arc as compared to his fight with Lucci and his yell to Robin in Enies Lobby.
Nami get some spotlight? You saw her in Enes Lobby, Skypiea and Arabasta… she was like the second most important SH in each one. In Thriller Bark Oda did the right thing by focusing attention off her a bit, but not a lot, as you remember she's the one who was concious along with Luffy whilst the other SHs weren't.
Nami gets too much spotlight, if anything. I'm glad Zoro finally got spotlight outside his fight.
She was important in Skypiea, but I wouldn't say Enies Lobby and Alabasta really spotlighted her. The only reason she was important in Skypiea was because of her navigational skills leading to her innate ability to drive the waver perfectly. In EL, all she did was run from Califa, pretty much. Even Usopp did much more in that arc than her.
Skypiea sucked…No one cares about that adventure.

Disproven by the fact that I liked it.

Skypiea gave us a break from all that soppy nakama wailing, and gave us hardcore action. Great arc… my favorite main arc.
After having re-read the EL/W7 arc recently, Skypiea HAD to happen. It would be way to fast after alabasta.
Skypiea provided a fun excursion, and it gave us some good development. Robin got developed well, we found out about Roger's crew and the Poneglyphs. I also really liked most of the characters created for that arc.

^I can do both. Because I'm a multi tasker
Sky Piea was good. I liked it.. It had nice "war" scenes. Everything hit off when Wiper invaded with his homies.
It wasn't as good as Arabasta though. Arabasta was freakin' sexy
Anyway, I hope that the Fishmen Arch is.. Sanji's time to FAIL
Then we can all point at the little Sanji-kuns and go "HAHA"
