Awesome chapter. Oda-sensei pulls another freakin' ODA on us!!! Looks like all that bitching about it is moot now :D BTW people keep going on about chibi Luffy being a problem. You guys do remember that Luffy stays in chibi form equal to how long he used Gear third. He couldn't have been more than 10 seconds as a chibi so the crew isn't gonna have a long time to take in his cuteness.
Chapter 480 "Counterattack" Discussion

Moria was laying in Odz's stomach, white eyed. Doesnt that mean he's KO? that of course means being defeated in One Piece
A lot of fighters get eyed before the fight ends. Look at Crocodile, his first punch from Luffy left him white eyed.
Really, there is no sure way to tell when someone is defeated in One Piece, Oda kind of cheats by having character constantly get up after unbelievable injuries. However, in Luffy's case there are a few strong hints.
A flashback, a powerful dialouge that sums up both fighters argument, and the enemy unleashing an "ultimate" attack (rokugan, Enel's god mode, and even Spring Hopper). Until we get that, no matter what powerful attacks we see people take, odds are Moria isn't out yet. Luffy's enemies, despite all logic (Logia uses having immense endurance depite never taking hits, and Foxy's ability to…not get OHKO'd) have unbelievable stamina. Look at Moria, odds are he's going to get up after taking part of an attack that floored Odz.
I hope hes out of the way, he's my least favorite SHichibukai
Booooooooo.
-
Moria's bound to take advantage of the crew next chapter, especially with a chibi Luffy around.
Since his time as a runt is proportional to his time in Gear 3rd, I don't think that's going to be a big issue this time.
-
Chibi Luffy can run inside Moria, beat the shit out of him from his innards to force him to release the shadows.
Or as Chibi Luffy, he goes in his mouth and reveals that his body is just a costume, which I've hoped for all along. The scar just makes no sense, and no one can look like that, even in OP.
-
Please no.
Unless he's actually a midget who looks exactly like Moria, please no.
-
Man am I glad some of you don't write One Piece.

Pregnant Robin and Pregnant Nami would be the first thing on my agenda.
And Mr. All-Sunday, he could be someone a lot less lame-looking underneath and for the rest of the series, is just a regularly sized, bad-ass looking guy who uses shadows more interestingly than just making zombies fight for him.
-
That's lovely.
So, rest of the arc could be interesting.
-
Underneath, Moria's true form is that of a small, red headed bishonen that fights with puppets. Stated in canon

What is this madness
Pregnant Robin and Masoria? That's just awful

impel me down, through the ground
sweety baby
impel me down, through a story with pregnant nami

Think about what you just said, while keeping the following character into consideration:
Wanze, who's eves protrude out of his skull. Also, he was born with his nosehairs tied into a net.
Enel, who's nose has ridges on it. Also, Robins nose.
Kuma, who's lower body is the size of a toddler, and that might not even be a mistake in perspective.
Kaku, who's entire body is squared.
And Gaimon, who's body grew to accomodate a box he got stuck in.
With Moria, all you need is a really skinny albino who sat on the couch too long eating potato ships, and bam, you have a man shaped like a leak. Then put some hair spray to make that point hair effect, cut his forehead on both sides, and their you go. Oh…and the horns, well....think of Wanze. The point is, is Moria really that out there?
-
Yeah in a series with women with giant blue afros and bludgeon arms a GIANT SCAR isn't very unbelievable.
Not even taking into consideration the rubber man punching things with fists the size of buildings.
-
i was wondering, if Moria doesn't have his shadow does that mean that he is subject to the "you'll burn up in sunlight" rule?
-
moria would probly burn up… but why would he lose his own shadow?
i wonder how long this chapter takes in real time, like 30 seconds?
-
Well, when Odr stands up, you can see clearly Moria left the cockpit, so a possible scenario is that he asked Kuma to take him somewhere, and Kuma will ask his question, to which Luffy will answer (obviously): "To wherever the hell that leek went!"
Barring that, the other option would be to purify every zombie manually. It's not like they have anything else to do, considering:
1. They're WAYYYYY off course.
2. If Moria ran away, besides Kuma (unless he's long gone), there's no threat on the island.
3. They gotta get their shadows back somehow, or they can't leave. -
I'm really curious how they are going to wake up Moria. And if he's already awake I'm looking forward to 'convincing' him to give up shadows.
If Robin woke up hearing "A HUGE PONEGLYPH WITH THE LOST HISTORY AND A FLOWER PATCH ON TOP JUST FELL OUT OF THE SKY!!!", I want to see it :(

She just woke up naturally, sorry. When Moria was knocked out, Doppleganger dropped her shadow and it returned to her.

Doppelman
DOPPELMAN
Its Doppelman.
-
Well, since it´s a german influenced term it should be Doppelmann.^^
-
I love the teamwork.
-
That was a very satisfying finish.
Now time to see where Moria's at!

Touchy. Was a typo, sheesh. Still the same concept.

Her sprouted feet are shadowless (as far as i can see) though…

Man, the last chapter was awesome, and this one was even more so! I loved having "Santoryuu ougi….. San! Zen! Sekai!!" in there. Just a favorite move, at least from watching a Grand Battle 3 compilation vid many, many times. Moria definitely isn't out for the count yet. I'd expect at least 3 more chapters before we move on.
-
So whats up with Moria? is dude done for or not?
Im taking in bets.

Since he is not in the belly from the panel when Oggy stood up I think it's safe to assume he is not done for.
-
I got Gorlom for "he is not done for."
-
Since he is not in the belly from the panel when Oggy stood up
Actually there's a small triangular protrusion seen in the cockpit when Odz stands up. That could be one of two things.
1. Moria
2. Oda drawing something that could arguably be Moria but not clear enough to throw us off.
Either way, since just beating down Moria won't return everyone's shadows to normal while he may not fight, he certainly must be awake. And….well....since he's a dirty bastard, he probably won't give in unless he knows what's good for him...as most villains tend not to.
I'm still reeling from my ground on the SH's efforts on the arm being useful and Odz not being KO'd.
-
I got Greg for keeping an open mind.
-
So exactly what will I win when it's shown he's not done for? =S
(And how exactly do you win when you are put down for "keeping an open mind"? is that a free win?)
-
its a secret….......only way to find out is to win.
Im not put down, I was just making fun of Greg.:p
-
Moira is:
- A lazy bum
- A giant leek
- A trickster bastard
- A proud shichibukai
How do you make something with those characteristics do something that they don't want to?
Maybe he'll keep his word and return the SH shadows? yea yea trickster…
-
Im not put down, I was just making fun of Greg.:p
How is that making fun of me? Furthermore, why would you want to do that in the first place?
-

Because that's how he roles!
sorry had to put that in
I'm a big OZxNAMI fan!!!:wub::wub::wub:

My guess is either, Luffy will win Moria's respect as another person striving to be pirate king.
or, Usopp pulls a wacky trick with his sound dials. Just getting that out there.
-

Don't take it too serious, I was not trying to flame, I just thought it was funny because your the guy who talked about keeping an open mind in the last chapter thread right? So if you where to take place in this bet, I put you down as "Keeping an Open Mind."
-
Now that I've reread this chapter a few times, I kinda like it. I like how Brook was apart of the attack on Odz. I'm not 100% certain he will join.
-

? And that's exactly what I've said in this thread. ^_^; Did I conflict with anything I mentioned earlier? I don't mean to sound monotone but I'm just trying to see what was funny.
-
This chapter did a good job of nullifying that sense of "Well, that was useless" that Nightmare Luffy's rampage left in the air.
-
Wow, that was awesome. I especially loved Zoro's walk down the isle of zombies towards Oz. But I did feel sorry for Oz when his spine broke… ;___;
Oz for Nakama!! D=
-

No, you didn't conflict with anything mentioned earlier, & Im not trying to say your contradicting yourself of anything. I just thought it would be funny to add you into the whole Bet thing, but instead of you picking a side, I chose to put down your Keeping an Open mind. Because that was your main point, you where expressing in the last Chapter thread.
-
@Cap'n:

not only nightmare luffy but basically everything that happened in the group fight as well
-
Something unexpected needs to happen next (involving old characters)… Like Thriller Bark suddenly sinks... into FISHMAN Island. Maybe they run into Gin there or something...
-
I totally take back anything I said before about this arc being boring and badly paced and uninteresting – this chapter was freaking awesome. <333
I wonder how the hell they're going to convince Moria to release the shadows? >_>;
-
Convince Moria? No problem, Robin is master of conviction (Franky..;).
-
Shadow Suit.
