I doubt it would go to Japan… unless I'm vastly uneducated in knowledge regarding Japanese architecture.
General Assassin's Creed thread

Well, I can't remember if Assassin's Creed is a trilogy….so modern times?
-
Brotherhood was a spin-off, but it actually works like AC 2: Part 2.
But yes, it's a trilogy. And all the games take place in modern times, by potential locations and shit I mean Desmond's ancestor in the next game.. Hell, there might be a modern female assassin, as hinted by Minerva at the end of Brotherhood.
Theories: Desmond's eagle vision is the sixth sense which only the "gods" (those who came before) had. It's clear Desmond is a descendant of these so-called gods, but the Pieces of Eden… Garden of Eden, Atlantis, Eve, all of this fits into Assassin's Creed. For all we know, Desmond could be a new Adam and he has to search for the new Eve in order to save humanity..
fuck who knows, it's a convoluted overly obscure mess but I love it.
This one guy posted a list of reasons why the next game probably won't feature Japan.
1. I can't imagine Desmond having a Japanese ancestor
2. The ninjas were prominent figures in feudal Japan, which didn't contribute anything to world history (and AC is known to take place in pivotal points in the history)
3. Ninjas were completely different from what people think of them now
4. Taking place in Japan would mean there would be fewer weapons and gimmicks to play with
5. They would have to re-work the entire combat system seeing how Japanese samurai's swordfighting style drastically differs from that of western
6. Meiji Restoration can work, but seriously, how much do you people know about Meiji Restoration (or have you even heard of it until now)
7. Japanese cities, especially in feudal era, lacks buildings to scale on. And it's quite small compare to previous cities we have seen.
8. AC:B pretty much confirms that AC3 will take place in French Revolution with the hints that Shaun says at the end. -

Well to be fair I knew next to nothing about the Italian Renaissance but that didn't stop me from enjoying all the attention to details in AC2.
-
It's not that hard to to change up a few attack/counter animations for a different style in swordplay… But yeah. Other than a few things that may be wrong, point still stands.
Another another topic, I have a question. Did Brotherhood explain why the higher ups in the the game's current timeline didn't raid the place with more heavy weaponry(end of AC2). I found it a bit funny actually... After building up their coming being a major threat, I barely felt threatened at all.
-

Same here. The game pretty much made me fascinated by that time period and just made me want to visit Italy so fucking much. I couldn't enjoy the first one as much in the attention-to-details aspect since I didn't know much about the architecture from back then, although there were times I thought "Wow, did they really have such advanced architecture? Interesting..".

The modern Templars, I assume? I don't know, really. I guess they didn't want to truly attack them just yet. In Brotherhood you're in present-day Monteriggioni in the Villa Auditore as a safe haven, and the templars don't find you.
-
Either France or Germany. I still havent finished the game so I'm just judging from when Shaun says the animus can't translate French or German yet. Though it could all having been refering to the battle against the Grench guy.

I can't speak to the realism of the exact period the first game is set, but yeah it's pretty much agreed that between the fall of the Roman empire and Renaissance Europe, the Arab empires were the kings of architecture.
-
I think it is possible that the next location will be the Garden of Eden. Desmond would remember Adam's memories during the great war between the two civilizations. This setting will offer plenty of scope for story development and the developers can create awesome environments. Based on subject 16's message to Desmond in ACB (find Eve) and the glyph video in AC 2, I think this wouldn't be too far a guess.
-
Ancient Egypt would be amazing. We could explore the roots of all assasins.
Some archeologist believe that the egyptians had some lost technology.
Which could lead to some amazing weapons. Using snakes would also be cool.
We could also explore pyramid tombs like toetanchamon's. Maybe even playing as the female assasin that killed Cleopatra. -
I was guessing around the French Revolution shortly after 2 came out and I still stand by that.
-
Why not two periods of time?
Maybe ancient egypt focusing on the earliest versions of the assassins, along with mid 19th century. With the boom of modern sciences like evolution, geology, advanced engineering, and (to link it to egypt) archaeology.
-
Ehh, mid 19th century wouldn't be as fun.
And WW2 is definitely out of the question, for anyone who was going to suggest that. We have enough CODs and other shooters based on WW2.

Yea but none where you walk around assassinating Nazis except for a couple.
-
-
Why not have both?

I just finished Sequence 3 and so far the game is pretty fun. There does seem to be an awful lot to do at the moment and I'm starting to lose focus on what's important.
- Regular missions
- Christina missions
- Tombs
- Subjext 16 stuff
- And much more

I am searching for a music track from the game Assassin's Creed 2, the track plays during your escape from Abstergo. I looked through the soundtrack but i couldn't find it.
-
Hard to find…
and this and rip it yourself.
But you could always take
Not the best audio quality, but better than nothing. -

Google for (with qoutes)
"Assassins's Creed 2 (II) Original SoundTrack (OST) 2 Dics"
and if you ignore the first two links (the piratebay one) and go to third link (amazon one) you can buy it

Finished everything in Assbro Single Player today. Hmmm. Dunno what to say really.
If I were to score it I'd give it a 7/10. It was good but it just felt like more of the same. The few additions like the extra Assassins were ok but kinda felt redundant. (And make the game FAR too easy to the point that you wonder if there's really a purpose to Mercs, Thieves and Courtesans in the game at all. I know I certainly didn't use them.)
Combat didn't really seem all that different imo. Aside from adding the Crossbow and the Arrow Rain to pwn all it just kinda felt the same as before. And it's still kinda bleh. I hope next time they factor in stuff like if an enemy is backed up against the wall they can't jump back and dodge your attack.
Also glitches. Am I the only one who noticed the amount here? Such as items and weapons randomly disappearing from the inventory? Once I lost my sword. Parachutes were gone every 10 mins and I even lost my Hidden Blade at one point for no apparent reason. (I had to rebuy it from Leonardo.)
Aside from those little niggles I loved every bit of it. Gonna give multiplayer a shot since I didn't bother with it yet. Fingers crossed its good!
-
Multiplayer is pretty fucking good. I get bored of playing shooters all the time (LOL it's true!) and playing AC: B's MP was just a crazy fun and fresh experience. It's too bad I only rented it.
And yeah, the game had a fair amount of glitches, but I never lost items from my inventory. Combat was fun but the kill streaks made it a bit too easy and I never used courts, mercs or thieves either unless my Assassins Bar was out.
But I'd give it a 9 or 8 out of 10. It's a great game even if it is more of the same.
-
Yeah I played a quick game on Multiplayer. Was fun. Although I quit instantly after as soon as there was bitchy children on the mic and I couldn't figure out how to turn them off.
-
Wtf? You must have shitty luck because I never had any screaming children into the mic on AC: B.
Halo yes. but not Brotherhood. I don't know how to mute people on Brotherhood though
-
Apparently images of the third one leaked on teh nets

Could be photoshop skills, who knows.
-
Leap of faith off Notre Dame… sure, why not.
Too bad there wasn't any cool architecture in American Revolution era USA. Throwing in the Freemasons as another secret world power could have been interesting.
-
(If it's real)
Hah I fucking knew it! French Revolution bitches!
-
comments say fake from Deviartart. I'm inclined to believe them.
-
Yeah, they're fake. Oh well
-
I'd rofl if the upcoming Assassin's Creed 3DS was actually 3. There's a 3 in the title XD
I can't remember when Brotherhood was actually announced but I think we are due some details for this years game soon anyways.
-
Brotherhood was annouced in the months leading up to last year's E3.
-
France circa ~1790 would be pretty interesting, though I'd be really happy with Assassin's Creed 3 taking place during the American Civil War; it's at a time where guns are fairly prominent, but they're not so advanced that Desmond's relative would just be running around emulating a COD game. And he doesn't even necessarily have to use guns or any heavily explosive weaponry. The scenery traipsing across the bloody Civil War landscape would be excellent, and playing as a more modern assassin would be interesting.
I never actually completed the first game, so they may have revealed this and I missed it: when exactly did the line of Desmond's ancestors stop being the traditional cloaked moody assassin that we've seen in Altair and Ezio?
-
The only problem with playing in a Revolution or Civil War era America is it lacks the interesting urban settings that encompass most of the Assassin's Creed games.
There's no mighty walls to scale, or towering ruins or grand cathedrals to reveal the blank map.
-
No, there better be no early announcements. Despite all the strong points of Brotherhood - which I am yet to play through - it's basically the same Assassin's Creed II with multiplayer, a part of the game that should have been in the sequel. And as such, it took only a year to produce. Now, since we have finished all the Italy business and can move to a different age, Ubisoft must face a new challenge in developing AC III, and spend all the time they could on it. I might be imagining this, but wasn't there an actual comment from developers that they wanted to take things slowly with next installment?
And on the setting itself - tarrin4ever has it right: before the end of 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries, USA don't have anything that interesting from the point of view of AC games gameplay, there are pretty pieces of english baroque, palladianism and neoclassicism, but using them is missing the point. It's the later neogothic and especially the early modernism when your America rises upward from the five story kindergarten and fully blooms.
I never actually completed the first game, so they may have revealed this and I missed it: when exactly did the line of Desmond's ancestors stop being the traditional cloaked moody assassin that we've seen in Altair and Ezio?
Did we ever see any modern assassins doing business, any active operatives and their attire, not the trio of guys who sit in the office and do the strategy planning? I don't think so.

Constantinople, hell yeah.
-
Is that what was announced? Sounds good to me.
-
Yes, the game is titled Assassin's Creed: Revelations - some mod should rename the thread - and it was announced in the beginning of May, and the release date is set on November 2011. The most important part - it's not AC III, but a final installment to finish the stories of both Altair and Ezio.
-
Yay, we get to play as Altair again. And playing as three characters… this game is hopefully going to be really long.
-
it's actually Assassin's Creed 2: 3
-
That link to the fake image made me laugh, because the forum shortened it…
"http://vghq.net/2011/04/05/first-ass…images-leaked/"
Eeew…
But on topic, I'm looking forward to this... And I knew this was coming in like, April. I know someone who is high up on the art team for the Assasin's Creed games, so I can always tell when there's a new game coming because suddenly I start getting answers like "Something..." when I ask what this person is up to lately...
-
I failed aat putting a thread in the correct area… So It no longer exists.... in this sub-forum
-
This belongs in the video game sub-forum.
-
Somehow I knew I'd screw up by making a new thread…
-

Official Trailer>>>>
-
Isn't there a thread for this already?
-
Well I remember making a thread about the next Assassin's Creed back when Revelations wasn't announced yet, but I named it 3 so I'm not sure if it counts.
Either way, Revelations is going to kick ass.
-
I'm not sure what to think. Both 2 and 3 were really good games. However I was sick of Ezio at the end of 2 and now it just feels like overkill. Do they REALLY not have any more ideas for Assassin's? I think I'll wait on 4 and see whether the new stuff actually warrants me buying the game again.
-
Emberrassing. Just emberrassing.
