I loved Dragonball a lot. It was fairly nice to see characters using basic stategies and creating techniques that were varied(Goku was excellent as a child, constantly throwing out silly ideas for attacks, like the rabid dog technique or the rock paper scissors tech), but when everyone and their mother started throwing up the same generic blasts that only really varied in name and how you threw it, I got bored.
Strategy made no difference by the time Nappa and Vegeta arrived, and team work also became useless by the end of the Frieza saga.
By the time of the Cell saga, only Piccolo and SSJs could do anything, and then finally by the Buu saga, even Piccolo was reduced to comic relief. Krillin, Tien, Yamcha and the other humans and characters we'd grown up with suddenly were replaced by Present day Trunks and Goten, Mr. Satan and Fat buu.
Android 18, who had shown great promise as one of the only female fighters to be able to keep up with the boys was reduced to exploiting money out of Satan and babysitting.
Hell, even the legendary SSJ status was useless.
Then Goku for some reason wishes Buu comes back as a good person.
Uub arrives, and Goku spends the rest of his life training him, avoiding all contact with his wife and kids.
Uub of course is a human who can stand a chance against SSJs and demons…and then GT happens, and he loses all significance alongside Piccolo, Gohan, Goten and Krillin. hell...Tien, Yamcha and Chouzu only got a cameo at the end, and Chouzu wasn't even animated.
Toriyama suffered also from making nearly all his main characters cannon fodder, something I'm glad Oda doesn't suffer from.
