Figures that when Odz finally attempts to sit on everyone Sanji is no where near the point of impact. :(
Chapter 472 "Down" Discussion

-
Of course the holy man appears in the most unholy place of them all
I always hoped for but never expected Kuma to be used in the actual plotline. He was always overshadowed by Doflamingo. Maybe the government found out about Moria's business and sent Kuma to take care of him. So if Luffy can't force Moria to return all the shadows I'm sure Kuma can. Another opportunity to prove that bounty is not always a measurement of power. -
Anyone else get that image PM'd to them? :P
utterly confused as to why she got it Ah, well. Twas funny.
Anyway, I really need to get to downloading this chapter so I can read it properly … But I now have things to do.
hoping for more epic Kuma in the next chapter

I thought it was stated that whenever the balance of the Three Great Powers shifts slightly, the WG wets their pants. Ie. when Crocodile got beaten, things went out of control with Whitebeard and Shanks. Wasn't it stated that a Younkou always makes a move when something like that were to happen?
So, why'd the WG send out one Shichibukai to take out another? Doesn't make much sense. It sounds risky, as in they could end up taking each other down. Much less the concept of Kuma beating up Moria just for the sake of his activities feuding with his religious beliefs and whatnot. By the rate Moria was made a Shichi, Kuma ought to have heard of whatever he did to earn his 320mill bounty, which would likely include him using his ability to raise the dead. Why'd Kuma pick this specific day to waltz there and start whuppin' leek-ass? Heck, he could've just have hunted Moria down before the Shichibucafication and turned him into a lawn-ornament back then.
On a completely unrelated note, I think we'll end up with Moria and Kuma leaving together or something, with neither one of the two getting rightfully "beaten". Moria seems to be getting little to no panel time considering what a big shot he ought to be in the grand scene of things. Same applies for the current arc. He's barely been doing anything so far! Having a short fight with Luffy and ending up KO'd doesn't seem right to me. Unless that fight ends up having fifteen phases, something is bound to happen.
Insert the "TB drifts to Fishman Island"-theory here! xD
The above statement should be taken slightly seriously simply due to the fact that we have no clue how Kuma found TB. It's a currently moving ship in the middle of thick fog, so the chances of it having already stopped and Kuma just coming to see what's going on could be a possibility. ;o
-
I cannot be-LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE this chapter! Watching the Straw Hats knock Odz on his ass was awesome (is it just me, or does Odz look Klingon?), not to mention inhales OMFG KUMAAAAAAAA.
Somebody email me that Kuma/Perona pic? Pleeeease? I wanna know what everyone's going on about.
@Double-Dudes:Insert the "TB drifts to Fishman Island"-theory here! xD
Lol at possibility of THREE Schichibukai being present for Fishman Island arc. I swear to God, if Doflamingo pops up and says, "Surprise bitchezz," I will move to Japan.

Hmmm…I don't think the WG sent him out. From what we've seen, they don't take orders from the Government and they act according to their own will. I'm getting a Devil vs Jesus kinda premonition from this chapter though. I mean, Moria looks like a devil, and Kuma is a religious guy.
-
@Fire Fist:
Also, if we were going to have any Shichibukai crossover with this arc, I'd expect it to be one who shows remote religious signs, with is evident in the fact that Kuma's carrying a bible around. Of course, for all we know, it could be the "Bartender's Bible" and he's just there to make Moria a mean Long Island Iced Tea.
sign me up for the bartenders bible theory! ^^
mmm long island tea… =) -

This is what I'm hoping for as well.

I am convinced that brooke takes oz down the next chapter with one of his moves (like the spider) and frees luffys shadow.
He just has to do it before Oz stands up again.

I think that Thriller Bark might have been quite easy to find actually.
If you notice, we haven't seen much in the way of fog recently. Perona and the other zombies have been able to see details from clear on the other side of the island… Wouldn't think mean that visibility has increased and the fog is no longer present?
I'm starting to think that Odz' playing with the rudder chain and Thriller Bark drifting onto that "strange current" has cause TB to accidentally leave the Florian Triangle. If this is the case, then TB would be quite easy to find because it is frick'n huge with many lights burning all over the island. So, Kuma may have just seen TB from a distance and stopped by.
Other ramifications of this theory are that Luffy REALLY needs to take out Moria before sunrise. Now that they are out of the fog's protection, Luffy will be fighting against the clock to win before he starts frying. Gecko Moria seems to be taking this into account with his delaying tactics. It's a fair prediction that dawn is going to play a major part in the Luffy V moria fight. Maybe the rest of his crew will purify Odz right in time to save luffy from the first rays and allow him to launch the final attack.
"Victory at Dawn" would make for a catchy chapter title anyways.

like your avatar boiga ^^
-
Don't Sanji and Zoro need their shadows back as well, though? Dogpen and Jigoro jumped out the window or something.

Thanks gorlom. The bomb's actually from Rurouni Kenshin and I always thought it was cool of them to to give a heads up to their former assistant's new series.@Really:

Of course, but they don't need to be around while Luffy fights Moria. They can hide in that shade until they get their shadows back… assuming that they have already taken down Odz... otherwise everyone's screwed if the sun comes up.

Did anyone think that kuma is coming to tell moria that theres a new shichibukai member? Kuma didn't really sound like hes there to fight with moria. A new shichibukia member seems like something everyone needs to be informed about. Plus if luffy gets wind of it that will be more reason for him to kill black beard in the new world.

yep, dont remember if it was in this thread or the spoiler discussion though. there's everything from Kuma beeing there to wed Abslom and Lola to Kuma beeing Brooks hairdresser (the later one beeing my personal favourite )

How about Kuma being Brooke's son? How ironic would it be if the very symbol of death, a skeleton, was the father of a religious fanatic?
-
no… i dont think... nope, havent seen that one. (doesnt mean its not there though) though kuma have to be atleast 50 years old though and personally i dont think he looks that old.
but there were some theorys about kuma haveing some kind of past together with brook before he died.
-
What if Kuma's Bible ate a Devil Fruit? Only God knows what kind of things you could do with a Super Powered Bible…..
Anyways, about Kuma being related to someone we already know, perhaps he once meet Mohji. I mean, Mohji had a similar haircut when we first meet him, but who knows, "Mohji vs Kuma" and "Buggy vs Mihawk" are the most farfetched fights that I want to see in the series...
-
Shotty Kuma is Mohji's older brother theory.

This post is deleted!

dude, that's an interesting theory, that would be cool
-
I don't think they are brothers, but rather that they happened to meet each other at the moment that they got their respective haircuts. Maybe Mohji's the only person in the world that knows what Kuma's hidding under his Shroom Hat. :P
-
Kuma is both Brooks AND MOHJIS hairdresser!

Mihawk and Shanks don't look Fourty, and Hiruluk looked about 40 had to be at least 50 or 60. Aokiji doesn't look in his 40's either, though that one is probably due to his devil fruit (cellular preservation).
Age isn't always accurately represented in One Piece.
-
It isn't represented accurately in any manga>.> Or at least not the young women i.e. the 16 year olds with breasts the size of watermelons>.>

kuma doesnt look 40 to me either.

crackpot theory number 7b: Kuma is related to Kumacy!

I made a new sig out of sprites cause of this new Chapter!
-
That's a very nice sig!
-
Great Sig Silver :)
-
Besides her basic fleur stance, it also looks like if Robin is out flat refusing to be held by Franky's Big Hairy Hand.
-
That is awesomely made. Did you make the sprites from scratch or base them off of a template?
-
After reading this chapter, i can`t even imagine what will happen in the next chapter.

OwhateverZ sending the SHs flying of course! :o
And probably more of Luffy and Moria running around.
-
I think Kuma turning up could be interesting, we may finally get to see his power! Also there hasn't been anything about Luffy in a while, I'm starting to miss him :(
-
Thanks a lot, love the upload66 links :D
Heres another mirror:

They are edited from the Jump Ultimate Stars' Sprites.

Late to the party, but definitely one of the best chapters in a while. Though TBH I didn't really care for the Straw Hat Mecha…thing. It was a little too silly...Though I did like Robin's refusal to participate.
Kuma's appearance was, of course, a shock. His appearance will certainly throw a wrench into the final confrontation with Moria.

Yeah I definitely have a feeling he will walk in on Luffy and Moria fighting which could lead to an interesting turn of events…

"that would be….too embarresing" lol

Uh… One Piece isn't that deep of a story.
Blackbeard and Ace's duel could be a reason for Kuma's appearance.
-
Kuma: May I be your Nakama?
-
Bear hug people. Bear hug.
-
Kuma is kumarsy shadow donnor
-
Didn´t catch the entire thread so sorry if it´s been mentioned, but is it possible that with the little dialog we´ve heard from Kuma so far we´ve already have been given something like a punchline? I mean both, chapter 234 and in this one use the being on target way of saying that someone´s right. Well yeah, just seemed like that. :/
-
Yep, the punch line thing has been noted already by other knowlegeable memebers (not me:sad:).
Oda really goes the distance for giving some personality to characters who will be taken down just the next chapter.
-
Well Odz is now upset. But it doesn't look like the Straw Hats hurt him much. Sure flipping him is damn impressive, but they got to beat him still.
-
Uh… One Piece isn't that deep of a story.
F.F.Ace's post had nothing to do with being 'deep' and everything to do with being a shitty, forced plot twist.
-
Yea, FFA is known for his retarded groundless predictions.

JESUS CHRIST!!!! Chapters like these I'm glad I don't read OP spoilers!

Yeah, that's the words I was looking for.
