@Aldrich:
So now after "the Strawhats are out of their depth cause they can't dodge thunder while BB crew can dodge fire!" we have "the Strawhats are out of their depth cause their ship got propelled upwards by the knockup stream while BB crew's was destroyed by it!" You people are hilarious.
Yes, their ship got destroyed by it, because it's a jet of water capable of hurling a frickin' island all the way up to the White-White Sea. And yet Teach laughed about it while none of the other members of his crew seemed the least bit injured by it. The mere fact that they survived being hit by it is one of the single most impressive feats yet seen in One Piece.
From what we've seen that can be compared; Burgess picked up a wooden house, jumped, and threw it: Zoro picked up a brick house and threw it while staying on the ground.
It's the hotel across the street actually, not a house. Look at the top panel of the second page of Ace and Teach's conversation. You can see the Blackbeard crew standing around, but there only seem to be four of them. There's a building across the street with a water tower and a sign that looks like the one we see Burgess throw at Ace. Plus there's a black dot back there that might be him wandering around. So Burgess actually picked it up and leaped across the street to throw it at Ace in the time that Augur was shooting at him.
I really don't know that Zoro hefting half a brick house up onto his shoulder and basically tipping it over onto Daz right in front of him is that much more impressive than that, especially seeing as how Zoro didn't seem to be capable of leaping or running around while carrying it.
Besides, Burgess is a melee fighter and almost certainly wouldn't be fighting Zoro anyway. Considering how Teach is developing, his crew is probably going to be final boss characters for the Straw Hats (judging by his offer to Ace, he's still in the process of recruiting members) with the probable exception of Zoro. Well, unless Teach actually manages to find somebody stronger than Mihawk.
Van Auger sniped seagulls (moving targets) from such a large distance land wasn't even visible, he has an obviously lethal weapon and knows how to shoot to kill; Usopp sniped at a distance not even remotely comparable to what Van Auger did FOR FUN,
Precisely. As pointed out earlier, Van Augur is being introduced as a final boss type character, so he's probably already a master sniper. Usopp is still developing. On the other hand, what we saw him do at Enies Lobby is light years ahead of anything else we've saw him do up until that point.
and none of his ammo looked like it packed the slightest punch as one of the weakest foe introduced yet stood up right away after getting shot twice in the face by the Strawhats' sniper.
Spandam also got up a few minutes after being hit by an elephant. He's second only to Usopp in terms of being a damage sponge.
Really, what's the biggest difference? The difference in pure physical strenght between Burgess and Zoro, or the difference in gunner skills between Van Auger and Usopp?
Hard to say; Zoro and Usopp were obviously going all out while Van Augur was killing time and we can't really say for Burgess. House throwing might not be that big a deal for Burgess compared to some of the other stuff he can do. It can't be an upper limit to his strength if he's capable of jumping around with it.
