Most logic issues Deicide brought I agree with, even though I was mostly entertained for a huge part of the arc. I believe they have served their narrative purpose. The only ones I believe we'll see again are Enel, Bellamy, Carue, Bentham and GinBut Gin will be an endgame character, we'll see him when we lap across the world again. There's no way he's in the new world right now.

I say it's still ~15 chapters, give or take. Arc ends around 1130, between September and November.
I think whatever the number, volume 110 is the last of Egghead. Whether that means wrapping in the next handful of chapters and letting Elbaf's intro be the end of book moment, or whether it means one last Egghead twist to finish the volume, then shifting to Elbaf in the opening chapters of vol 111. Say somewhere between 6 and 12. It's not like there's going to be much island left to have a post-arc party and epilogue on, so basically as soon as the action is done the arc is over.
Can’t wait for people to start complaining about Elbaf like they did with Dressrosa and Wano. lol
@electricmastro Current arc is the worst one yet and evidence of the downfall of One Piece. Previous arc was the peak and a golden era we will never return to.
So the fanbase has argued and bitched for every single arc since I caught up. In the opening months of a new arc you can track how the perception of the previous one goes from 'downfall' to 'underrated' to 'peak' in real time.

And it definitely doesn't mean that no current arc criticism is justified. Wano and Dressrosa are definitely among the series' most flawed arcs even in hindsight. The long waits of the weekly read made their problems worse, but the problems did still have to be there to begin with.

Even though I like the first two acts and half of the third, and has been almost two years, I still think Wano's ending is the worst ending to any One Piece arc we've ever seen.
This is partially because I feel it spits in the face of Alabasta's ending, which is 10x more well-done. So the best thing I can say about Wano's ending is how much it makes me appreciate Alabasta's ending all the more.

I just can't help but think that some people are hyping Elbaf up as if Oda is obligated to cater to all of their expectations, similar to what happened with Wano. So once again, I think Elbaf will be a case of putting peoples' expectations in check.
@electricmastro Oof yeah. Wano had problems, but not fully explaining things that were obviously going to be saved for the endgame shouldn't have been considered one of them. Some people acted like it was meant to be the series' final arc.
I expect a little more in the way of big reveals from Elbaf, especially considering the bombs dropped recently, but I'm not holding my breath for the full Void Century or anything until the final battles start kicking off.

oh for sure, Elbaf was name dropped 900+ chapters ago, and we're hitting the endgame so probably won't have time for a hefty adventure, but I do agree that it could play a bit more damage control with Nika lore.
Although if there's no Luffy+Giants feast scene I'd be highly disappointed.
@Captain-M I don't think the disappointing amount of lore in Wano is one of it's main faults, but I don't think it's a criticism without merit either.
In Zou, Oden's death was presented to us as a result of him travelling to Laugh Tale and learning the true history, but that had nothing to with it at all.
In fact, what Kinemon says in Zou really doesn't make much sense at all in hindsight. How would Kinemon know that Kaido was trying to pry information out of them, when that's something Kaido only started to care about after Oden's death?
Then there's the Kozuki clan being the stonemasons who created the poneglyphs, was this brought up at all in Wano? If it was, definitely nothing of value was added to it.
Also, we currently have 4 unread Poneglyphs with us, 2 from Big Mom, 1 in Sukiyaki's room and 1 Law found in Onigashima (assuming he told Robin it). Obviously we didn't learn the Alabasta poneglyph was pointing to Wano until we got there, didn't know the Skypiea poneglyph was pointing to Fishman Island until we got there, but couldn't we at least have acknowledged the fact that we have all those poneglyphs at the end of Wano?

It’s funny, I originally estimated Egghead would be like 30 chapters, but then it turned out to be over 50. I think this may be telling of how long later arcs will be.
Ya know, given how Egghead is near its ending, and crappy ass Wano ending aside, I'm kinda glad, Tama, Carrot, and Yamato, didn't have to be dealing with Egghead right now.
Tama would prob struggle to get animals to obey her.
Carrot would have struggled using her Sulong against the Elders even with Chopper's drug.
Yamato would have just been all other the place attacking anything that moves before get flung back and being relegated to protecting Robin like Nami and the others were.
This would have been an unsatisfying arc for all of them. I'm glad they're getting development elsewhere, because this arc wouldn't have really given it to them.
I just hope that Elbaf will deliver in terms of Usopp's characterization and getting closer to his dream. I also worry that Nika might steal the spotlight from Usopp, being Elbaf's chief god. More stuff that I'd like to see is Elbaf's connection to void century and what lore they might possess, road poneglyph or not. There's also Yggdrasil tree on the island, what kind of role it might play I wonder?
Lastly, I'm hoping for a wano-style Giant legend/veteran from maybe Ryuma's era or even void century ( if that's possible). There's got to be a really powerful giant whose name holds/commands respect in similar manner like Oden's or Ryuma's. The giants have long-lifespan and are important for the plotline not to have someone like this.

I also can't wait to see Strawhats in stereotypical viking outfit: chainmail and horned helmet. Perhaps they'll even participate in a raid on Elbaf? Who knows, stuff is exciting.

Every arc has had some villain and conflict involved, seeing as how this is shounen, yeah.
Arcs like Skypiea had exploration though, so whether or not Elbaf has exploration like that we’ll have to see.

Since it seems more and more likely that Joyboy was a giant, I kinda feel he will be the "Elbaf legend" character. Especially with all the sun god connections Elbaf has.
For quite some time I believed that Elbaf's "internal story" will actually be directly tied to laugh tale/void century/final war and the closer we are to elbaf, the stronger I feel that's going to happen.
@blueinthespace I don't know about like a scale of 1 to 10 rating, but I would say it has some of the series highest highs mixed with its lowest lows. The best and worst of One Piece in one of its biggest packages. Unfortunately, most of its problems show up right at the end, giving a feeling that even Oda burned out and lost focus on it. Usually a good ending justifies the slow, bloated midsection that basically every arc since Skypiea has had, but with Wano we see how much worse that middle can feel without it being satisfyingly tied together.
You have to wonder what could have been if Oda had taken his one-month break before the final stage of the fight, maybe when Luffy was seemingly dead, to regather his strength and wrap it up right. So many missed opportunities.
It's not about to top Water Seven or Marineford for the best of the big dramatic arcs, but even with its shortcomings I think I'd give it an edge over Dressrosa and Skypiea.
It's the kind of hard-to-place thing that could easily move up or down a rating or tier depending on if I feel like giving the positives or the negatives more weight on any given day.

I get the feeling it wouldn’t have been that different. Oda is bringing Wano back into play even now with the Egghead arc, given how he went out of his way to show Momo listening to Vegapunk’s broadcast about Joy Boy and the ancient weapons.
I think main point of the Egghead arc was to get the world questioning the Government more in light of homes getting flooded and Lulusia getting blown up.
So it was more for the world than for the audience, but Oda still threw in some bones for us like elaborating on Nika being of Elbaf, Joy Boy attempting to pass on the Ancient Weapons, and some cool fight panels.
I figured Vegapunk wouldn’t be elaborating on anything like the Will of D., since that’s most likely for Laugh Tale, so I’m pretty satisfied all things considered.
So that all in mind, I’d say this arc is just about wrapped up, and that Oda will now proceed to Elbaf to further elaborate on Nika, as well as showcase the Elbaf women there of course.

He might have found room or energy for a stronger send-off for Izo and Ashura, or an aside during the party for Jinbe's toast. He might have thought of something to give the final blow on Kaido that little bit of extra oomph that feels lacking from it currently. Maybe a moment for Carrot in the final stages of the battle where she like rallies the minks to save people from the fire or something to set her up as a leader for them.
He might even have rethought misdirecting Yamato as a crewmate as hard as he did.

I wouldn't be surprised if he wrote Chapter 1057 with a "Wano Part 2 in mind", given how he set-up Caribou to know about Pluton and now seems to be close in revealing that info to Blackbeard, who will most likely want an Ancient Weapon himself to counter the Government's Ancient Weapon and stay in power.
Also, Oda has admitted to leading his audience into a state of confusion before, when he first drew Franky and drew him such a way so as to make the audience hate him even though Oda intended him to be a crewmate from the start.
So while there was prob some misdirection intended with Yamato, I think it's also fair to say that her choice to stay was set-up by virtue of Oda having her spend time with Momo as opposed to Luffy or the other Straw Hats.
So now whenever she leaves to sail, it will likely be more emotional and bittersweet leaving a country with people she has gotten to know as opposed to sailing out to sea without really having gotten to know Wano as a home.

I think the events on Amazon Lily recently gave us a bit more of a hint of what the story coming back around to old settings is going to look like. If there is to be a Wano invasion, we'll get a kinda abridged version. A proper second wind for the Wano cast is more likely when they reach the final battle and are fighting side by side with the Strawhats again.
It's not necessarily that Yamato was a candidate then wasn't that's the problem - plenty of others both in the past and on Egghead have lent themselves to speculation without creating the same bitterness. Yamato accelerated too hard and swerved too late, ending their crew candidacy without satisfying either the pro or anti joiners.
For exactly the reasons you say - more time spend bonding with other characters, nothing to bittersweetly leave behind, and (I would argue) not being put through the physical and/or emotional wringer most Strawhats suffer before finding happiness with the crew, it wouldn't have been right for them to go alone. But even though I was saying that the whole time, the way it was handled didn't resonate with me as a resolution. It needed to not come so close to happening so there could be a more gradual easing into their new role and priorities instead of this sudden shift.

Considering how cases like Nami and Robin turned out, where they’re introduced in one arc and given more emotional development in a later arc, I wouldn’t be surprised if Oda approached Yamato with the same logic.
He prob had all these scenarios thought out like how he could elaborate on Yamato’s mom and such stuff during the Wano arc, but seeing as how he was juggling a lot already, he prob came to the conclusion that it would be better to just establish Yamato in some capacity now and just save more development for later. He prob thought of it like how he approached Robin during Alabasta: elaborating on her mom and emotions later since he was already largely focusing on Vivi during that arc.
Because yeah, since Wano was mainly Momo’s arc and had all what did happen surrounding him, Oda prob concluded that it would be more fun just to have people guess about Yamato’s character instead of trying to rush every development about her character as much as possible.
And seeing as how he’s having Caribou tell Blackbeard about Pluton, that may be his way of how Luffy would reunite with Yamato 2 or 3 arcs later, instead of just in the final arc during the final war, and emotionally develop her character more at that point before finally joining.

Luffy at the end of the Elbaf arc might get word of what's going on at Wano and come back to help, since I think it's fair to say that Yamato and Momo won't be defeating Blackbeard instead of Luffy.

It's crazy that at the end of Wano Oda said he'd like to end One Piece in "3 years, but will probably take longer".
2 years later, we are still in Egghead and, while it sets up a lot, it resolves almost nothing for the endgame. The prelude to the final saga took 60+ chapters...

People who think Oda will end the manga this decade are delusional imho. Even if we assume the most rushed scenario - which is Elbaf, LT and MJ, thereby ignoring the likely Hachinosu arc where we will resolve the Cross Guild and BB stuff - we are looking at a length of roughly 200 chapters at least. There is no way the final war, which features even more key players than Wano, will be shorter than Onigashima and Elbaf looks like it will be at least the length of TB or FI as well. Given the decreased yearly average of chapters, simple math alone should shut down most of these "OP will end in 2-3 years" posters, but apparently nobody can divide properly...
As for myself, I assume Oda will slow down even further in the future due to age, breaks, etc. and calculate with a 25 chapter per year average. If we assume we got Elbaf, Hachinosu, LT and MJ left and assume roughly 250-300 chapters... this will put us around 2035. Not unrealistic imho.
2 years of Elbaf, 2 years of Hachinosu, 4 years for MJ and 1 or 2 years for LT, the epilogue and odds and ends.

People who think Oda will end the manga this decade are delusional imho. Even if we assume the most rushed scenario - which is Elbaf, LT and MJ, thereby ignoring the likely Hachinosu arc where we will resolve the Cross Guild and BB stuff - we are looking at a length of roughly 200 chapters at least. There is no way the final war, which features even more key players than Wano, will be shorter than Onigashima and Elbaf looks like it will be at least the length of TB or FI as well. Given the decreased yearly average of chapters, simple math alone should shut down most of these "OP will end in 2-3 years" posters, but apparently nobody can divide properly...

People can think what they want, though that said, I think it would help in their interest if they took more consideration into how many things Oda has set-up that he has yet to resolve.
Sure, aspects like Oda's health can play into things getting rushed more, but I think it's fair to say that until more evidence comes into play about Oda having problems, or even emergencies, then I don't think anyone should feel obligated to worry about this more at night in bed.
Otherwise, if it's more so about people doubting Oda's ability to properly follow things up, then I think it's also fair to consider if that doubt has more to do with Oda's status or their own cynicisms.
So, could any of the Satellites eat their own DF, or do they all share the Brain-Brain Fruit, and if so, does that mean they all can't swim then?
@Johnny-B-Decent I think the Satellites are ll independent beings that just connect to the brain via technology. They can each have their own DF.
The Satellites existence wouldn't be very hard understand to understand if it wasn't for York. How exactly does her pooping, eating and sleeping for the entire group works? Which is weird enough as it is, but then you have to wonder why someone like Pythagoras would even have those kind of needs when he is clearly fully robotic.
If York is going with the Elders, then I imagine any surviving Vegapunks would also be used as a counter to York. They might end up with Dragon since Dragon wanted to recruit Vegapunk in the first place, so I imagine that’s where the Luffy/Dragon meeting comes into play.
