Wait, first, let me clarify that I don't think of criminals as cancer and I kind of knew this was coming so I was basically asking for it by not being clear on what my stance on Toga was.
She's not just unequal because of socioeconomic reasons or circumstances and while we can still celebrate differences and encourage them, her being different actually requires her to actively harm others to be happy. That's what I don't get about the discussion because for her to fit in you will have to cause direct harm that had no causation (which meant there was no reason except for the sole reason she was born) to society and humankind.
This is not the only media that has done this, that has explored the mindset and psychology of serial killers and people who can only love by hurting and the answer is never the fact that they are different as much as they are alien. And why exactly are you against Dhamers or Gacys if we were to put Toga into the same category? What if Dhamer's very passion and only way to be happy and different is the active harm of their own kind? Because that certainly might as well be whether we want to factor circumstantial reasons into it or not, the topic at hand is that they are born with this innate desire, which makes them contrary to humankind where we hurt others in exchange for a certain benefit but not for the sole purpose of existing.
You can say that okay then, it's her quirk that she is cursed with. This is exactly my point, there are people with her nature of quirk in real life. Why does the world reject me for hurting and killing others? It's the only way I can deprive joy.
Regarding Darwinism or the true nature of Darwinism, I don't necessarily disagree with the fact that the inclusion of all types of beings is required to advance society. But it also states that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce. Evolution and extinction happen because of natural selection. Your point might be but if we are compassion, accepting, then maybe the human race will evolve further into one that progress with people such as Toga. But in more general cases of evolution, we have also removed the parts that we don't need and/or the parts that we don't need has failed to survive. That's a very concrete and reasonable course of action species have experienced for years.
When your existence is a direct threat to mankind and you have repeatedly acted on it, it is no different than a cancer progressing in a human body. Sure, there have been medical breakthroughs where cancer cells exist to fight and prolong the cancer patient but then our argument here would be different because ultimately the patient would rather not have the cells in the first place. You can also say that what if we turn the cancer cells into super-immune cells that allow for a more enhanced body? And that is kind of my point, you either push for conformity from Toga or for her to stop being "different" and become someone else. Which will again goes against the theme being explored and what she is fighting for, which is for her individuality to be accepted and embraced.
