! I call it bullshit. The guy leveled up a mountain when Kurogiri was captured. He’s been constantly been described as a walking natural disaster, even dark shadow was afraid of him, and now a newbie hero can stop him?

! Oh I agree, she's gonna get roflstompped. Guy just woke up so he's probably shocked someone else is as big as him.

! Well, this is what I respect about Mt. Lady. She's in the business for selfish reasons, she's willing to step on her friends to get what she wants, and she's pretty shameless…but she doesn't shirk on her responsibility when the chips are down. I only hope she doesn't get maimed too hard.
! Oh hey, and the league of villians are on top of Gigantomachia too! -

! Machia is high on the frequencies of the Lord. And those who though Shigi would be just a pawn to AFO are wrong, he dusted the vestiges ghost.

Spotted a mistake that may need fixing for the volume release.

! well, AFO's complete influence may have been dampened since he woke up early. It is entirely possible that if he went through the entire procedure, AFO might have been stronger.
-
That last panel….
! Is Machia falling for Mt. Lady!?
I was pretty happy with this chapter. Although the inner thoughts dialogue I wasn't sure whose thoughts they were from time to time.
-
Machia is completelly All-For-One-sexual, Mt. Lady is just in the way of senpai.

Go Mt. Lady! Be as badass as you are!

Was instantly turned off by AfO suddenly taking over Shigaraki Tomura's mind. Been there too many times in manga to be excited by the thousandth villain using kid as a vessel for his soul/mind. And then instantly happy to see Shigaraki understand immediately what it was and going "sry but no. not here, bye".
Now, Shigaraki, if possible, just fucking kill someone, will ya?
p.s.: how is Aizawa supposed to keep eye contact with all those flashing quirks? Be Endeavor's fire, Bakugo's explosion of just tons of dust lift by random strong attacks, it seems like there are plenty of chances for Shigaraki to be covered from his eyes.
-
Love Mt. Lady but she's getting stomped next chapter. I wonder if Endeavor asked about Todoroki because he wanted to do a team attack. A double Prominence Burn would be insane.

Once Aizawa makes the initial eye contact, the eraser stays in effect until after he blinks again. Sustained eye contact isnt needed, but its a common misconception

Then again, Woman Nomu broke the effects by going out of line of sight. Hori is not exactly consistent with Aizawa's quirk that's why he should lose it.

No, it's not. We just had that high-end Nomu nullifying his effect on her by getting out of his field of vision (chapter 268). The moment she hid from him, her quirks went back into action.
Also, it wouldn't make any sense to keep Aizawa exposed like that if his powers worked like that. Just let him catch a glimpse of Shigaraki and then take him to the most secure place you can find.
-
Aizawa needing to keep line of sight is consistent whenever his power is used. Blinking would break it and so would ducking behind something (this is why he has the mummy wraps.)
-

Could have just been a father worrying after his son's safety, you know, the son that he crafted to surpass him and who he stakes his entire legacy on. When people are literally crumbling to dust.

This a technically broken in the Suneater fight, he still had some time fighting the quirkless goons after Aizawa left the area. Like I said, not exactly a consistent track record.
-
I wondered why AFO gave Shigaraki the original AFO quirk until someone on Discord gave me the idea that if he took over Shigaraki's mind he'd have a new super body with his original quirk plus OFA. It'd be a complete win.

Yes it is. Look it up.
He always stays close or keeps watching still just to reactivate it if he does blink.
-

Well, the reason why I specifically said the recent chapter that scene took place (268) was because I looked it up.

I only learned it worked that way recently tbh. But considering its worked while he didn't have eye contact, there's really no explanation
-
Yeah, remember the three thugs Tamaki fought during the Yakuza arc. Eraserhead erased their quirks and left and their quirks didn't return immediately.
As said before, he probably stays around because it's not possible to keep your eyes open very long and it would be great if he could reactivate it as fast as possible.
Also, against the female Nomu, we only had her thoughts and assumptions, no? We didn't even see the full fight. It's possible that he just blinked, but I don't think we'll ever know.

Pretty good chapter, I really enjoy the teamwork here, hoping it becomes something regular. Shiggy erasing AFO´s will was pretty damn cool, still wondering if it just lingers of AFO´s ego or they guy actually wanted to use Shiggy as a new body, I hope the first. Turning Shiggy into a decent leader doesn´t make sense if you just want a new body.
Also, seeing Gran Torino´s clash with Shigaraki hurted a lot. Like I understand that Shiggy is a menace that could kill thousands, but the fact than one of the few people that know his true identity, denies his very existence saying that it only brings pain is pretty damn sad and unfair to him. Like, GT is more angry at Tomura than sad, at least during this chapter.

That's the real misconception. The goons were held in front of the corridor Aizawa and the others ran into, so he could keep his power active by just looking back.

Aizawa running backwards with his eyes bulging out.
-
Aizawa has to maintain eye contact or else it would be a stupid power where he just looked at someone, was always partnered with someone that could moisten his eyes, and they could just hide while others deal with powerless people.
This isn't that type of story, you have to fight and risk your life for your ideals.
-
Yes, make up scenarios where maybe it works and deny what's been presented to us so it fits your logic.
-

I think he was worried and assumed his kid would be there too since the 3 of them are usually together. He doesn't know Shouto isn't in on the big secret.
-
They are really hanging by a thread with Facepalm. They need a kill shot and fast. With regeneration and time limited quirk there's not much choice. So Sylar will is inside him? I wonder if it means that Sylar giving power is like Badidi's control where he makes you stronger and you feel the need to follow his orders and devote yourself to him.
Mt Lady has never been impressive enough for me to think she's worth even mentioning. That's like a well meaning civilian attacking a mercenary armed with a knife.
-

Aizawa very much doesn't need to maintain eye contact. If he did, there would be no way for him to have erased multiple quirks at the same time, which we saw him do in the Suneater fight.
It's unclear if he even needs to keep looking at them in order for it to work. Seems like he doesn't.
-
My only question is, okay, if he blinks his power stops working, sure, but how long does it take to reactivate? Can he close one eye at a time and alternate them?
I realize that once you have uber powered mega monsters that fraction of a second power burst is all they need to BS a situation, but most of the time is the enemy really going to have enough time to react and make use of their ability in the time of a single blink?
-
I find it really underwhelming that you have a villain so overpowered and broken that the the only way the author could think of that let the heroes fight against him is by literally negating his powers instead of facing it head on.

Reminds me, why people like Haoh from Shaman King again?
-
I hate hao with so much vitriol.
Shiggy and All for one were very terrifying, and araki has made the villain type “I touch you, you die. Period.” Work with keep away games and exploiting their emotions, and the occasional deus ex stand.
But deku here is a punchy boy, and all might didn’t had to face decay head on. And I guess instant death quirks must be rare, that only overhaul and shiggy have them, as to all for one not having obtained one to deal with all might.
Shiggys quirk has never been conductive of interesting combat, it works for interesting storytelling and the horror of it (see walking wasteland, or the flashback for it), instant kill require a more methodical approach to combat storytelling.
Or to be an asshole like hao and not ever use your actual power. I hate the “i was never in danger” villain type.
-
AFO definitely wants back in, that wasn't even a question. This chapter pretty much cements that the objective which he had implanted into Shigi serves as a means to his ultimate comeback.
-

I liked Hao because of his backstory and also because for once the villain that has been preparing for thousands of years actually had strenght that the main characters couldn´t achieve in a couple of months, not even together, it was refreshing. That said, I would like him less if the end of Shaman King was different, I really liked how the whole conflict ended.
Also, because I was a kid and the spirit of fire was one the coolest designs that I still remember.
-

Agreed. But, he's gonna get a rude awakening when Shigaraki takes it all for himself. It actually fits with Shiggy's MO of taking valuable assets from other big villains. Stain's followers, Overhaul's research, ReDestro's army. And, now, AFO's desire to obtain OFA.
-

The conflict literally ended with Nakama Power Train.
-
The conflict literally ended with Nakama Power Train.
Yeah, but it made sense in context, unlike in series like Fairy Tail. It wasn´t a power up based of friendship, but Hao´s inner self betraying him thanks to the nature of the great spirit.
It also used almost every character and I am sucker for endings where the friends made along the way help in the final battle, Ushio to Tora is a good example. The only thing I don´t like about the ending is that the sequel kind of make it pointless, considering how the shaman king tittle works.
And to avoid being too much off-topic, I would say that MHA could have a similar ending where Shiggy is not defeated, but gets some redemption and chooses to stop the destruction. Something like Deku fully giving up OFA to him so AFO´s little brother and the rest of the users (included Deku) can have a chat with him inside Tomura´s inner world.
-
I don't think AFO planed to Sheev his way out of his old body, but passing his quirk to Shigi probably meant also passing his obsession with the one quirk he could not control, hence the ghost trying to manipulate Shigi.
-
Izuku needs to let One For All in, Shigaraki needs to keep All For One out.
-
If One for All keeps part of the personality of the previous users, and now All for One has shown to hold at least The Big Man himself in there, does All for One has a soulnado in there, of fragments of personalities of every victim of AllForOne?
-

Why would they face it head on when the alternative is just to negate it? You would be the first to scream asspull if they defeated him at full power.

But making the things more grim and hard ain't the essence of conflict? If the new generation can't rise above the previous one and defeat the undefeatable the what's the whole point of PLUS ULTRA.
-
The new generation is still growing up and they don´t have a mad scientist giving them power ups, a zombie army, etc. Heroes also have the extra handicap of having to hold back against villains so they don´t kill them, with a few exceptions like Hawks with Twice, the nomus who are basically dead puppets or against Shiggy who is basically a walking genocide machine that can kill thousands of people with little effort in less than a minute (god knows how many innocents would have died when Shiggy woke up if the heroes didn´t evacuate them)
I understand that the kids should have more screentime and stakes, but shonen making adults incompetent or too weak so the kids can shine in comparison is something I never liked. Hori could handle the screentime thing better, but I like that the heroes, for the most part, are good at their job (like with Bakugou´s rescue operation)
