Though the real surprise is Perona leaving Mihawk, not sure how that will play out.
Didn't she say she is going back with Moriah? I don't remember.
-

Yes, but while there's a pathway for Moria to potentially end up in Wano, it's much harder to say the same for Perona. Granted, it's not like they have to reunite anytime soon, but still, I wonder what Oda has planned for her beyond them reuniting.
-
Moriah and Blackbeard are both gonna show up at the end of Wano to kill Kaido like they did with Whitebeard in Pirate Warriors 2.
-
Oh that's a nice idea. Not sure I like Blackbeard having a hand in killing Kaido though. He already had a hand in killing Whitebeard in the actual story and he will probably single handedly kill Shanks. That should be enough.
-
Yeah and Moriah wouldn't give a shit.
That's not the point. It's not about what Moriah would or wouldn't do, it's about the thematic weight resurrecting the dead would carry. People frame it like it'd be a triumphant moment in which, through Moriah's help, the tide's of the battle turn to our heroes favor and the fallen warriors get their moment of revenge against Kaido, even in death. But I don't see Oda ever doing something like this because he made it clear through Chopper's opinions in Thriller Bark that what Moriah and Hogback where doing was completely disgusting and amoral. If Moriah does something like this in Wano, I'm pretty sure it will at least not be depicted as a heroic, uplifting moment of triumph.
-
Yeah. It wouldn't be a triumphant moment but one of horror all for the sake of a fruitless revenge. Perfect for Moriah.
-
You know, I've seen this idea of Moria resurrecting the zombie's of the fallen samurai to fight Kaido being suggested a lot, but if I look back at the Thriller Bark arc, I can't see this happening. Disturbing the rest of the fallen to turn them into their slaves while acting like they're still the same old person was deemed as a macabre farce and an insult both to the dead and their families. I think making the rotten bodies of fallen warriors get out of their graves by force would actually be seen as a huge outrage in Wano and as a complete disrespect to their honor.
Well, Orochi is been constantly spreading word that the dead are coming for him so…
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Moriah and Blackbeard are both gonna show up at the end of Wano to kill Kaido like they did with Whitebeard in Pirate Warriors 2.
I dont know, as Beka has pointed out, Oda is now depicting Moria as somewhat redeemed.
His sentence of 'I did wrong to this people', gives it away. -
How can anyone say that Moria will not show up during Wano?
Moria teleports to his ship, Blackbeard tells his crew to leave him alone because they have bigger fish to fry.
Moria lost Perona and his invisible rapey friend, he'll go on a suicide mission to Wano.
Moria will deal the finishing blow(cutting his shadow) and die in the process with Kaido incinerating in the sun.Moria will be regarded as a SHADOW GOD by the Wano people.

That sounds great. Too bad it won't happen. :ninja:
-
Well, we're still in Act 3, Neko and Jinbe haven't arrived yet, the full cast of Wano isn't complete, so who knows.
-
I wonder what's the deal with Denjiro. I hope Izo Will be show up as well. What's the point of making him one of Oden's retainers in the flashback if he won't show up in the present?

Nobody is allowed to leave wano, he had to create some sort of way for him to have left the country
-
He should have come back after the fight with the Blackbeard Pirates.
-
The poll should be about who's the traitor and not the allies. Because obviously, they will all join the battle against Kaido (except Moriah maybe who isn't there)
-
I guess I'm weird because I don't really care about the whole traitor thing. I probably will though if it has a big affect on the narrative going forward. Will it though?
-
I agree at the very least that it is definitely not a coincidence that Moria finally pops back up during this arc, just like many thought he would.
Though the real surprise is Perona leaving Mihawk, not sure how that will play out
Very not good. Absa got shanked for his devil fruit…betting Moriah's will go to a returning Captain Kuro, who proceeds to join up with the Blackbeard Grand Fleet...so I wager the Blackbeard Pirates will complete the Moriah Trifecta by stealing Perona's devil fruit too, which'll go to someone doing his best Shinigami impression.
Gonna be a thing, Blackbeard pirates stealing devil fruits from established characters and wiping out entire crews in the process. Same will soon happen to majority of the Donquixote Pirates imo.
-
If Izou comes to Wano imagine their surprise to see Kiku hasn't aged over the past 20 years. That will be a weird sibling interaction.
-
Ashura and Kawa don't look too different either and neither of them jumped in time.
-
Izo should already be at Wano and know what happened anyway. Maybe Oda didn't think it through though.
-
Izo himself hasn't aged all that much since Oden left Whitebeard's ship.
-

After the fight with BB, Izo should've returned to Wano as they have no crew anymore and most of the WB pirates dispersed… maybe we will find him imprisoned on Onigashima or something. Otherwise there is no reason for Oda to show us the relationship between him and Kiku and just leave it like that ... or he died at the hands of BB.
-
Yeah that's pretty much my train of thought but I think Oda may not really care about him so he will just have him show up with catviper or something like that.
-
Been meaning to throw this together before the flashback totally ended, so might as well put it here before it gets buried by new stuff.
This Oden flashback has really done wonders for Wano for me and I massively appreciate that. Wano has been such a mixed bag of feelings towards most of the characters and events happening here so far, but this flashback has really fixed a lot of my problems with the arc so far.
-
Oden; Before and during? The constant praise was getting old and he sure seemed annoying to start with. After? Well, he's certainly not hitting any "top flashback characters" rankings for me, but I at least appreciate his place in the story now and am happy with it. I don't think the remaining love and praise he's gonna get the rest of the arc will annoy me as much anymore. I would still appreciate it if someone in the present admitted how flawed he really was, but eh, that might be a pipedream at this point with how bad Wano characters are at critical thinking.
-
The Scabbards (and Shinobu); Before? They were pretty dull tagalongs to me. After? Some great depth really gonna help me finally care about the scabbards in the present. Loved seeing them all mature and seriously commit to being respectable retainers. I'm still a little worried that their fighting styles aren't gonna be enough to be interesting once the fighting breaks out, but maybe they'll all just get stuck fighting the Numbers in long, endurance fights mostly off-screen. They're still at the bottom of "relevant characters in Wano I want to see get full fights," but as long as everyone else gets theirs, I'm all for seeing more from them once the action goes full scale.
-
Orochi - I was already starting to enjoy Orochi more and more in the present, but he got everything out of the flashback. Hard to explain it clearly, but "Past Orochi's" victory is so well deserved and complete that he's now so much easier to hate in the present. It's been long enough that Orochi (probably) doesn't get to have a moral point in this anymore. I'd love it if Orochi hasn't even thought about his original goals in years, so that "Present Orochi" really is nothing more than an asshole cowardly overlord protecting his rule.
-
Wano Country; Before and during? Wano and it's people aren't worth saving. Burn it all to the ground. After? I'm ready to side with the Rebellion now. Wano has paid it's dues and Orochi's revenge has gone on long enough. Of course, I still kinda think Wano needs to be completely destroyed before the arc ends. Wano definitely needs to start over from zero more than Fishman Island and shouldn't get off easier than Dressrosa's destruction. Wano's ending might be a lot more satisfying if they actually have to abandon it and see the world, instead of just getting to stay and rebuild with open borders and "good" rulers.
I have high hopes that, as we probably finally return to the present, that the rest of Wano won't fall back into the awkward feelings and weird habits that were all around Act 1 and 2.

Not to take the glory Zoro beating King… But King is a fast as fuck flying dinosaur with also using flaming kicks as shown in the anime.
Of course he also carries a sword but so is Queen.
An damn fire aerial battle would be awesome and it would give Zoro a better chance of being a HUGE part against Kaidou himself. Not even saying that Sanji would fight him alone

The process of becoming a Zorotard

How much longer till the end of act three do you think?
And what epic stuff will happen during the intermission?
Hopefully more Black Beard stuff

Depends. If kid, law, luffy will lose this encounter with kaidou, then right after it, just like how act 1 ended with luffy losing to kaidou. And act 4 they regroup and beat kaidou.
-
It won't be that simple. Their will be other characters at play.
-
Oda's comments at Jump Festa makes me think that the intermession will happen relatively soon. At the very least this year.
-
A question. Apparently, the time from when Moria was at Roger's execution, to his loss to Kaido all happened in one year, and he already had his 320 million bounty then, as well. So, could he have been considered a Super Rookie back in his time?
-
Yeah. Maybe Kaido was too.
-
Yeah. Maybe Kaido was too.
Mhm, I don't think so. Kaido was already in Wano by the time Roger died.
-
Good point but I'm not sure that would disqualify him from being a "super rookie".
-

That would mean he got a higher bounty in one year than any of the 11 supernovas.
-
do we know for how long Moria was already out there before clashing with Kaido? I don't know if we can assume it was only 1 year
-

Luffy got to 400 million in less than a year.
-
True, I was thinking of the Sabaody bounties. Still, bigger than Kidd. That'd be impressive.
-
Btw if the olympic games are cancelled due to Covid, do you think Oda will cange the ending to Wano? Because Orochi was obviously right all along!

Act 1 909-924 (16 chapters)
Act 2 925-955 (31 chapters)
Act 3 958-present (18 chapters and running) -
Just a random thought: Isn't it odd that in the 25 years of his reign, Orochi's never had a kid? Or even married, for that matter.

Could you imagine Tama is his daughter???? hahahahaha XD

The Tama theory aside, him not having children felt more understandable after the chapter where Shinobu revealed that Orochi doesn't give a fuck about the country whatsoever. With that kind of mindset, I can see him not really caring about having an heir.

thx mates
Act 1 909-924 (16 chapters)
Act 2 925-955 (31 chapters)
Act 3 958-present (18 chapters and running)65 chapters so far. Arc honestly isnt ending until the 120-140 range easily.
-
67 chapter actually. Chapter 956 and 957 are not part of any act but they are still part of the arc.
-
Ch. 956 is a SWORD reveal and 957 is Sengoku recalling Rocks and how skeptical he is of the current events. I wouldn't count out either from the Acts as they will become more prevalent in the arc. They push narrative, so I don't know how they can not be part of the dramatic structure as it is
-
Well Oda doesn't count them as a part of any act because act 2 ends with chapter 955 and act 3 starts in chapter 958.
