The Florian triangle Monster can be 3 zou-legs, but one of those legs has either 2 eyes or a surface piercing with 2 shiny reflections.
Last panel isn't neccessarily showing one of those 3 shadows.

Yeah, could be. Could also be 3 different "creatures". And whatever it is, it made ships disappear Long before the TB was cruisin around there.
Another Topic:
Koushiro (Zoro's teacher) and Kyoshiro: could there be a Connection between those 2, or is that a "Connection" like Momonosuke and Franosuke?
As a non-Japanese-Speaker I honestly don't know.
About the gorousei and their lack of "diversity of opinions", you gotta think:
They are really Long in Charge now (I know, Im is above them, but officially they run the WG).
If they had argued a lot or too much, they probably wouldn't have prevailed for so much time.
Blondie's scar and the other's scar (the one with the locks) maybe Show that they only fought once each other.
I guess sharing the same opinion is what made them so successful in ruling over the world for such a Long period of time.
I know, those scars could also be from the time where they were fighting the WG's enemy, but the thought is funny, that they maybe only fought once and only each other.

You're assuming that the camera is static. Assume instead that the first panel is legs, and then the second panel is a camera zoom upwards to the head.
But when you look at the shadowy figure, there appears to be a base at the bottom, plus the "eyes" panel places its head at the surface. I'm sure the elephants can submerge, but that's an odd way to portray one if the legs are keeping him high up above surface level just a panel before.
Not like Oda is always 100% consistent with his designs.

Assume the camera has gone down real low so the water is in the edge of the frame, and it's looking up. And that doing so is the only way to fit the whole thing in the shot.
Not like Oda is always 100% consistent with his designs.
For example, two silhouettes of Kanjuro that looked totally different from eachother….then both totally different then his real look. XD

Sure, but this would only work if your head is barely poking out of the water, you're looking up toward the elephant's face, and you're at the bottom of a wave crest with a huge swell right in front of you. Even more believable if it's a baby elephant doing a polite little bow. I get what you're saying, it's just such a stretch that I doubt it's at all what was intended.
And now with that comment I've thinking how these long-ass-legs elephants breed.
Not only the humping portion of the equation, that I guess is akward but doable, except for the crushed or tilted cities on their backs, but they have to live in deep water to be able to surface, there is no room for a mother to carry the required leg lenght (even in just mass, asuming noodle limbs before birth) in her womb.
So.. is very likely that the long-ass-legs elephants have to abandon their young in order to survive. Or maybe they swim a lot during the first few years of life.
Woah there, if we're gonna talk babies, I want some answers about Big Mom first!
Maybe elephants lived on an island first, or at least nursed their young ones there. They living in sea might just be a result of a cataclysm, or some monster like Oars hunting them out, for example.
Yeah, that's a more likely explanation. They were regular elephants, and after whatever counted as Zou's crime, they grew.
Big Mom's case is weird but.. THAT weird, it is certainly not a pleasure experience for most of those involved.
She doesn't have giant kids so I don't think it's that complicated. You just have to shoot inside. If anything she has a bigger target.
Otahime giving birth to Cryhoshi now that's a mystery.

First panel is as Robby described.
Second with eyes is very far away head on. So far away that the creature is appearing on the horizon.
It works.
That might totally not be what it is, but it works perfectly as described.
Greg are you still holding on to the theory that the final fight with Kaido will be a team up with Momo, Luffy, Marco, and dog storm? Even now that Marco said he's not going to join? Who do you think Law and Kidd will fight? Is there any chance they'll team up with Luffy as a callback to Sabody where they all teamed up?
is Yasu based on someone in Japanese folklore?

Team-up, absolutely. I mean, not even a question at this point. The story is Momotarou.
As for the members, that can easily change but counting Marco out is perhaps a bit too hasty. He started that conversation as if he wasn't going but:
1. We don't know how that conversation ended.
2. Even if we did, with Weevil searching for him, the situation may have changed dramatically while we've been away.
That's not to say I'm willing to die on a hill that includes Marco ^o^ I just think it's possible that he could be there.
As for Law and Kidd, I don't even think it's worth thinking about X vs Y for them. I mean….I HOPE it is, but I've given up on Oda doing that for much of the crew let alone the tertiary characters. As far as them teaming up, it's all relative at this point. What does teaming up even mean, right? They all have the same goal. So if they're fighting in the same area does that count? If so, yes, I totally do!
Re: Yasu, I wrote a column on how he's based on hyottoko masks.
There is also the fact that this is a flexible timeline, but as Cat Viper hasn't arrived yet, then is unlikelly for Marco to arrive as well.
But then again, Mom got there before Jimbe.

!?!?
How do you figure?
Cuz if anything that simply makes it all the more suspect that he can.
I wrote that wrong.
What I meant to say is that Marco shouldn't arrive before Cat Viper, because travel time constraints, but once Cat Viper makes it to wano, then it should signal that Marco could be near.
While the Momotaro tale is innegable, at this point, unless "Dog" is from big mom's crew, having Marco be the bird would be unbalanced with Dogstorm being the dog, as all he has been shown is to be the other pair from Cat Viper. Yes I'm arguing that being a literal dog is not enough, but back when Dogstorm was one and special made sense, now he's a duo with Cat Viper, and a seven, wait no nine-samurai team led by Kinnemon.
Someone can argue that Kid, being so antagonistic to Luffy, and very feral could work as a the Dog, but then neither Law or any of the rookies give the pheasant vibe (tiger, peacock, crow (scarecrow) and dinosaur).
Greg I personally think that Kaido will break Luffys spirit in this arc. He is such a character after all and it will be awesome to see Luffy struggling against this massive adversary both in fighting and in a psychological manner
While anything is possible I'd have to say I don't think so because that would be two party-less arcs in a row. Also, Kaido's death will probably be emotional and that will not be possible if he breaks Luffy's spirit.
Kaidos liver finally gives out and we all learn a lesson about drinking responsibly
Ain't no one asking for that lesson. I prefer the Big Mom lesson of treat yoself.

Now all I'm picturing is Big Mom as Donna from Parks and Rec.

If you dont think they'll have big roles than I see you might have given up on the supernovas as anything but cheerleaders moving forwaes. Kidd absolutely has to show us his stuff or itll be a huge letdown to the group IMO.
If his job was to hype Kaido and do nothing else afterwards, him dying would fit that same route and he wouldnt have to stand and watch like krillin, piccolo, tien and yamcha while luffy fights the emperor

?
Who said anything about them not having big roles? Simply that they may not have multi-chap 1v1 bouts or at least not be limited to such encounters.
Re. Kaido, no, if he breaks Luffy's spirit Oda would avoid from portraying him as sympathetic over such a short period of time.
I don't think drawn out 1vs1 for all are necessary, but it should FINALLY be the time for everyone in the crew to shine and show the fruits of their training. (FMI was just an appetizer)
It's petty but I'm still salty at how Dressrosa was handled. The allies are fun characters but I expected something else…

A lot of people suspect something major will happen related to Zoro in Chapter 944 due to that color spread from a long time ago. Do you think so?

Absolutely not. Ppl just want attention. That's not to say he won't have a role in the chap. But because Zoro appeared next to a number suggesting it means something is sophomoric at best.

Why should Oda portray Kaido as sympathetic though ? He is anything but that. A guy who insults children over their father or attacks them without any remorse should not be sympathetic in any way. Plus he is a killing machine.
@Joy:

Because it's Oda's MO.
He's not quite as bad as Toriyama but he has a tough time keeping many of his villains deplorable if not unrelatable. In this arc, Orochi is being groomed for the role of deplorable villain.
Beyond the fact that Kaido is literally a self-loathing drunk, Kaido is being groomed to die and it's not going to be Luffy that kills him. If it's not Luffy, or any hero (despite how they describe themselves) that kills him, the only person who kills him must be a villain who will be a bigger threat. This is not to say defeat him. That's what the alliance will do. But after that a villain will kill him and take his title as the biggest threat. When that happens it's completely Oda's style to make us get a case of the feels over the death a la Z where Luffy and team have won. They've made their point and won the war, yet the villain dies because of their own volition and we feel conflicted over that death.
Wano should have a party. So I'm not entirely sure about the order of things. But with the sh*t hitting the fan around the world I think it will be relatively easy for a great number of forces to arrive on the scene.
Anyway, the biggest indication of future behavior is past behavior and look at how Oda handled Mom. I told everyone for years how I thought Mom would be given stretching room for being sympathetic and that she'd be good-natured at heart. It's how and why I developed Cake Theory. He's already following the same steps for Kaido. The difference is, Kaido has shown clear intent to take human lives under the influence of alcohol and although we could make several moral/psychological arguments here, if you boil it all down to what I bet Oda would say about him is, he has the ability to stop drinking, but not the will-power to do so and therefore drinking is his fault. In Mom's case it's not her fault that she's on the spectrum. She's trying to be a good person the only way she knows how, having been manipulated her entire life. Kaido is not trying to be a good person but there are always always two sides to a story unless you're Joker from Batman. Kaido has a reason for what he's doing and it's probably a good one like Mom. Kaido is a sad, sad man at heart and when we learn why his death will not be satisfying so much as it is regrettable that this man couldn't be saved or save himself.
I still have no clue how Luffy will beat Kaido, I mean he hasn't even shown his hybrid form or his awakened form yet
Still wouldn't be surprised if law and Kidd become emperor's in the not to distant future
Really? Law and Kidd don't really have that same following Luffy does, and I doubt they'd be able to take in much territory. They're more like what the new world captains were to Whitebeard, strong allies.

Acute alcohol poisoning.
I'm betting it'll be a Smaug-style combo.
We just got the hint that Luffy is trying to break Kaido's scales. He's going to break a spot for Momo to hit and Momo will attack him with a 'SUNACCHI!'

There kind of like Luffy's main rivals though, also I can't see Kidd working under Luffy, maybe as equals like Luffy and Law are doing right now but definitely not as Luffy's underling…. no way
What do you guys think will happen then once Big Mom and Kaidou are defeated? or when Black Beard kills Shanks? Do you guys think someone will step up?
Also Luffy's got 5,640 members in his grand fleet, so based of Usopp's lie of having 8,000 followers we've got a little less than 3,000 members left. And after this arc we will have samurai and minks probably join those ranks, so how many supernovas crews can actually join?
I'm betting it'll be a Smaug-style combo.

Luffy somehow breaking his scales and Momo hurting Kaido feels cheap when the guy is literally the OP version of Thanos. WB goes down to the entire marine organization yet Kaido who wants to destroy the world and cause the biggest war ever falls to freaking Momonosuke ?
Final blow delivered by anyone that isn't Luffy, and Momo above all? Yeah, I need to see it to believe it especially after Dressrosa :ninja:
@Joy:

This reaction is precisely why it shall be so.
Should really be a good trick, considering Kaido tries to kill himself in his human form as a hobby.
Yup. It's gonna be epic and a team effort. But that last blow belongs to Momo.

I hope Zoro gets to fight Kaido for a bit too, perhaps slice Kaido in dragon form to show he is the true heir to Ryuuma and owner to Shisui. Thoughts?
Momo delivering the final blow makes most sense storywise
I mean he needs to earn becoming the new shogun and not just have people hand it over to him
the new dragon of wano
If Momonosuke was in his teen years yes. 8 year old Momo doesn't.

This reaction is precisely why it shall be so.
Why though ? It makes Kaido look really bad in comparison to WB or his peers.
Well i mean Kaido is essentially the raoh of the OP universe. So it sorta makes sense that no one is going to outmuscle him. Bettering him through skill/strategy/heart seems like a more fun than a super saiyan 2 style battle of muscular one-upsmanship
Oh god the OP YouTubers/Orojackson would mass exodus the series. Anyone who worries about power levels a decent amount would swear one piece has jumped a row of sharks. The salt mines would make carthage blush. Now I kind of want to see this just for the reaction to it.
Yup. It's gonna be epic and a team effort. But that last blow belongs to Momo.
I have to disagree, Greg. No one connected to the villain of the arc avenges their own grudge directly (Vivi to Crocodile, Law to Doflamingo, for example), as Luffy does it for them.
I always liked this in OP. You know, some abilities or people just being too much for mere training to catch up to, some abilities having fair/unfair advantage over others or everything in general, some characters being stronger but losing, our main characters having to resort to tricks and outside help to win, etc.
Armaments leveled the playing field to make things more fair to all involved, but the core still remains.
In that sense, it would be pretty cool if Kaido just ended up remaining a character nobody, or close to nobody, could ever beat in a one on one fight.
