Yeah. The website has them all up. No one piece in November. F*** this.

Yep, still no new Once Piece dub. Pretty disappointing, but can't say i'm not surprised.
-
Man, I'm more than disappointed. This is ridiculous.
-
Received an e-mail advertisement from FUNi for Collections 22 and 23 today. Collection 23 does come out in November, but we already knew that.
-
The collections would probably go on hiatus for at least half a year while the voyages gain some ground.

I'm hoping for solicits tomorrow.
That would be the worst outcome , or at least the one that would piss me off the most.
What the hell was the wait for if they do that !?
-
If they wait much more than half a year theyll start losing sales
-
I swear, if I was in charge, we would be getting new voyage sets every month in 2019.

It sure would be nice if they put some effort into a speed up.

The one good thing about the upcoming live action series (which Oda claims is progressing) is that it’ll boost popularity for OP in the states, meaning more and faster releases. That’s a while off though...
-
To be honest i wouldn't mind a Collection size of episodes released every quarter, its much better than what we getting now
-
Funi is simulsubbing Episode of Skypeia special. Wish they'd simuldub it; not sure why that'd be so hard to do yearly with the specials.
-
I know why they wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't mind if they took the pre-recorded audio from Skypiea they dubbed years ago, add it to Episode of Skypiea, and call it a day.
-
Hah. Since it's new animation, I sincerely doubt that would work. A fan could try to do that, though.
-
We'll probably never get any more dubbed specials unless they can justify tying it into a movie. Sucks because Episode of Luffy/Sabo are much better alternatives to their anime counterparts.
-
Do we have any idea on what is going on?
Was at a UK Anime Convention last month and Jerry Jewel basically said that they weren't doing anymore One Piece or Fairy Tail. Wasn't sure if it was now or forever since Fairy Tail hasnt even had an anime for some time (did they do all of what was released?)
Honestly dont mind not having the dub but I fear the only reason we even get the DVDs is because the Dub is on there. And in the UK you need to get the DVDs as its the only legal way of watching the series. (we dont even have Film Gold)

Has he even been working on the show lately? Even if he knew what he was talking about, I don't think he'd be in a position to freely talk about the licensing contract.
There was a gap longer than a year between S3V5 and S4V1, so I don't think we should panic after only 3 months. The best thing to do is email Funi and the company in charge of OP distribution in the UK and let them know you're hoping for more releases soon.
-
I really hope Jewel's comments are only referring to a seasonal break or something.
-
I don't know what to believe, but it just seems so weird that they would drop it now, rather than back at the time-skip which was a much more natural stopping place.
I know Fishman Island wasn't the most popular of arcs, but the drop off in sales can't be that bad could it? -
If they were really dropping it, I doubt they would've recorded Punk Hazard. It's probably just a Toei thing.

There was a hiatus, but the series (at least) is continuing. Collection 20 comes out in December. Shame about Film Gold though, as I was hoping for a theatrical showing ala DBZ Resurrection F; On the plus side, Madman's release can be had for as much as a UK release would cost.
-
They are dubbing the openings for Dragon Ball Super. That could be a thing for One Piece.

Your phrasing is worrying people unnecessarily. Jerry probably said they weren’t working on One Piece “now,” correct? Not that they aren’t working on it at all anymore.
-
I mean, we already know they aren’t working on OP currently. They finished Punk Hazard and are probably working on licensing more.

I wish the OPP could be counted on for things like this? Why can’t they ask someone and get a real response?
-
Yeah I'm certain he was just referring to the current moment. In a commentary in the Fairy Tail releases (I listen to those as well as the One Piece ones) the director made comments of how when Fairy Tail resumed broadcast that the higher ups would push for a simuldub of it, and that thought terrified him because of so many big named actors and having to work with their schedules to make that happen (to say nothing of the fact his to leads live in LA). He was likely just saying that they aren't working on any of it right now.
Plus with a stream of Episode of Skypeia and the constant sharing of One Piece related content they post to their facebook page, funi is clearly far from wanting to wash their hands of the series.
-
Right. No one should be worried at all about cancellation. It’s just a wonder how many seemingly endless months this hiatus will last.
-
I only ever found one source for Jewel's comment and nowhere else. It seemed like something that was taken out of context.
Not continuing the dub would not only cause a major backlash but would also be a loss of revenue from one of Funimation's top sellers.
Something just as improbable would be going with sub-only DVD sets. -

Zach did say in one of the recent episodes that he asked them, but didn't get a response from Funimation.
So, whatever it is, Funi is likely not ready to talk about it at all otherwise they would say something about it on the social media at least.
The complete is silence is disappointing nonetheless. -

The complete is silence is disappointing nonetheless. That sucks! If Toei is being an ass after Funimation lost the rights to Conan? I can't imagine them losing One Piece if they keep quite all year until 2019…

Toei Animation doesn't produce Conan.
-
I'm guessing S10V1 is gonna come out in January and then they will have bi-monthly releases until it's done. After that I expect another hiatus. I mostly blame Toei for being stingy with Dressrosa. We also have to think of how the movie will slow things down.

I forgot about the recent company changes with FUNimation lately. I do have to wonder if this has anything to do with what is happening.

Wouldn't it be great if they put out 20 sets next year for the anime's 20 year anniversary?
That would be wild. -

That would be wild.Lol I was just wishfully thinking about "What if the delay is because they are actually dubbing all the movies instead" ….. sigh
-
I doubt they're going back to dub the movies right now.
The only wishful thinking I've heard that is slightly possible for the dub's delay right now is that they might be trying to get Blu-ray rights. I could be wrong given I don't know much about the home release in Japan, but I've heard the blu-rays in Japan started around this point in the story.
-
I think they're just too busy dubbing their more popular anime right now. Colleen Clinkenbeard is directing My Hero Academia, and Mike McFarland is directing Attack on Titan again. With all the other simuldubs, they may have had to put One Piece on the back burner for a bit.

Yeah that's probably what's realistically happening, maybe they recorded lines for all the B and C characters in Punk Hazard, but are still waiting to do Luffy and maybe some other busy va's characters

if true: %^($ simuldubs and $*#&$ taking on so much work it starts affecting your other releases!
-
Probably beginning of next week they’ll announce that we’ll get nothing else in 2018.

Maybe someone can at least ask new york comic con since that's in October? They should be finished dubbing the current season of my hero academia by then, so we shouldn't have to worry about them focusing on simul dub as a excuse.
-
Another reason why I knew the simuldub initiative would a bad idea in the long run.
Anyway, Funimation might be planning something because they've been posting One Piece 101 videos on their Twitter page.
-
Is this even the worst break between releases?
-
Is this even the worst break between releases?
Nope. The dub had like a year and 4 months break between the ending of Season 3 to the beginning of Season 4.
-
Yeah, but we thought it might be cancelled at that point, so this is certainly much better—since we know they’ve already dubbed the season and it isn’t cancelled.
This hiatus ranks at No. 2, though. Still very bad.
-
The threat for cancellation was much higher during the season 4 hiatus. A series being canceled after dubbing 3 seasons and not selling well is more practical I believe than seeing a series getting canceled after 9-10 seasons of work and commitment and we know the series sold well enough to warrant that.
The only factor in all this that concerns me is the fact that FUNi was recently bought out by another company…
-
Looks like the solicits are up on amazon. Surprise, surprise. No one piece.
-
So that takes us to the end of the year and no new release…. Ugh.
-
Dang!! I did have a feeling we weren't going to get Punk Hazard until 2019. Starting to look more likely that we'll see the voyages get replaced with the collections. Either that, or the collections will go on a break next year whilst the voyages catch up!
No dubbed Dressrosa until 2020
-
Listings are up. Nada.
