Thanks for fixing the edition tools! Now I can add my new sign!!!

OMG, I'm so happy that the editing tools have finally gotten fixed and are back to normal! Now I can even go back to posting updates in my Rokushiki Robin project thread!
Thank you guys so much for your hard work! We are all eternally greatful!

So using Chrome on Android, whenever I type a post in the reply box the text goes on and on to the right instead of wrapping back down to the next line. It makes it obnoxious to proofread and edit my posts. I don't know if this occurs on other mobile browsers but it doesn't on my computer.
To make things weirder, this change occurred in the past couple months, stopped during the big editing bug, and now reappeared. Thoughts?

When trying to use arlongpark.net the Captcha doesn't work. It says: "ERROR for site owner: Invalid domain for site key" But apforums.net works fine. I hope this is the correct thread for this FYI post.

Hi =)
I have a Problem with typing my Messages. It sometimes just overjumps some letters, which I press on my Keyboard and does not wright it down… Using Explorer at my Office and I am not sure, if it's an AP Problem or of my Office Laptop. The same message without 5min correcting to Show the Problem:

KrogGar, looks like it might be a problem with your keyboard. I don't think the forum would be responsible for letters and characters not appearing in a message like that.

Welcome to the forum!
Second, this forum is divided into sections, where you look at different threads. We actually do have a NBA thread, in the General Discussion section.

When I use the main visual editor and write something in bold/italics before going back to normal, if I try to press backspace or enter, for some reason the typing line goes to the end of the bolded/italic phrase and does the action there, causing what I'm writing to be messed up. Is there any way to prevent this (without having to use source editor?)
-
Unfortunately it's just a bug in the editor. Maybe when we upgrade to the next version of vBulletin it will get fixed.

This just started happening today but when I open apforums it opens up in the "mobile format". It's really weird looking and harder to navigate. Plus, I'm on my computer and even for my phone I use the default style. Any help?
-
At the bottom of the screen you should see a 'Default Style' link that will allow you to switch back to the Retro Park theme. From there, you can adjust as necessary. The mobile theme is kind of like a trap in that once you click into it there's no intuitive way out beyond explicitly linking to another theme ID.

Thanks, got it .

So the forum was unavailable for me almost the whole day yesterday. Did something happened?
-
As far as I know the site was fine.
-
It worked fine for me too.

I'm not sure if we had a separate thread for stuff like this (can't find anything at least), but I just got a "Safety Warning Alert" when trying to access the American News thread. Just thought I'd let you know.
-
I have made a signature for the first time. Now the problem is: It seems to be shown when I post something new, but isn't visible for all my old posts. What's happening there? :wassat:
Edit: It seems I have to edit all my former posts and mark the "Show your signature"-button. Is there really no other way to do this?

When i try to use the search function i get the following error
connection to localhost:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)

^Getting the same error.

Thirded for same error.

Can't search or look up my own posts or thread. Very strange…
-
Looks like the Sphinx search is down. I don't have my laptop on me to correct this at the moment; I'll see if Jonas or Foolio can.
-
Ok nevermind, I fixed it. Search daemon should be up and running and working again.
-
Well the engine should be updated or changed after all… it’s time to move forward and maybe some stuff to raise the activity
-
A couple of users have asked me about being unable to create new threads. One is a new user, the other has an older account but just recently got back to being active. I assume it's a measure to stop spam bots making threads, but I'd like to know what's the minimum post requirement?
-
They just have to have been active for a while and post a while. We don't give concrete numbers.
-
It seems the search function do not work anymore. I have the following message
connection to localhost:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused) -

No worries, I don't deserve as much thanks as all you do

In my Mac, it is now showing that the connection to 'forums.arlongpark.net' is not secure. Is it mine only problem? It is happening in both Safari and Chrome browser.

apforums does not use an https certificate which is nowadays considered to be 'not secure' by navigators. Hence your warning

Hi Roboblue
Is the issue hard to correct ? Do you have any idea when it will work again because it is a bit annoying to not be able to make searchI don't really know, we're still waiting on Bren to fix it because he's the one with the most access.
He's been very busy doing COVID19-related overtime work but hopefully he'll be able to fix it soon.
-
I made everyone wait again, sorry. I can't log into the server while I'm connected to my corporate VPN, and I've been on that pretty much all day every day lately. I just took a few to disconnect and fix the search though, special thanks to Robo and Foolio for patiently reminding me (frequently).

It's taken me a long time to find the spoons to make this post but I've finally done it! So, I've noticed this issue with the reply boxes for a few years now where for some reason the text boxes wrong wrap and instead produce a side-scrolling bar the more I type. It used to not be like this but one day the reply boxes began to do this and it's always been very vexing because it makes checking a post a pain in the ass. Is anyone else having this issue?

Switch the editor back to WYSIWYG mode back clicking the button on the very left of the reply toolbar. This will return the text wrapping.

While that does work it also means getting rid of the code tags. >_>
