@Count:
This makes sense.
This part also makes sense.
But this segment doesn't make sense.
Wouldn't it make more sense if Gohan and Trunks awakened Super Saiyan 1 through anger, but simply needed to go through less traumatic experiences and didn't have to be as old/experienced? Like, what if Goten was really upset that he couldn't get ice cream for dinner and awakened Super Saiyan 1 during his tantrum? I would think that's a lot more consistent because it would be a less stressful moment than seeing your best friend/mentor/pride die in front of you, but still be consistent in having emotional stress be a trigger like all of the past Saiyans pre-buy saga. Being raised during peaceful times shouldn't be a catalyst, it should either be no influence or even obstructive if anything because that is the exact opposite trigger that we've seen for these transformations.
This is like saying if I awakened super strength by lifting weights and drinking gatorade a lot every day due to a special gene, then my child who inherits this special gene should have an easier time gaining super strength by lounging around on a couch eating junk food while watching Hallmark Christmas movies. That doesn't work. They should have easier access to my strength by still exercising, just to a lesser degree because of a natural genetic advantage.
Damnit, this series doesn't deserve having rational thoughts inserted into it lol.
Boy, it sure has come a long way from Goku fighting someone like Commander Blue or Nam, hasn't it?
