Broccoli are you heartbroken that comrade Putin has decided that right-wing Useful Idiots are more useful than left-wing Useful Idiots these past few years?
Are you feeling neglected by sempai, and planning out catty mean girl plots to dump pig's blood on that right-wing populism bitch's head at the prom?

@Monkey:
For all North Americans currently wondering if moronic conspiracy theorist niche media-cultist populist drones are just a right-wing thing in these Trump stink days…. and that surely there cannot exist a left-wing flavor...
Behold!
In case you haven't noticed, I've been ignoring all your posts and will continue to do so, since all you can do is insult, mock, and surprisingly get away with it all.
Hasta luego.

Can you at least say anything to defend your point? Like, is there anything that is mostly good on the Left-Wing government of Venezuela?

You ask me to defend my point when as a matter of fact my point hasn't even gotten refuted? Monkey King just insulted me.
You refute me, and I'll defend my point.

He said you were a Left-Wing populist drone. Can you say you aren't?

Wow my point about only caring about one specific issue (and in one specific country) just made itself lol. Also tenured university professors easily make 6 figures. Even at the public university I attended.
-
Do I need to understand economy to have an opinion on Venezuela? And if I do, I'm surprised that so much people on internet understands economy.

So far people are letting you get away with posting abject sub-tabloid level crap in a thread intended for actual news, so I wouldn't get too huffy about tolerated rule breaking.

left wing Brazilian politicians busted over corruption AMERICA, IMPERIALISM, CONSPIRACY, FALSE FLAG
current Brazilian president is right wing and being busted over corruption Boy, glad this corrupt guy is being taken to task! -
He said you were a Left-Wing populist drone. Can you say you aren't?
HAHA! so he blatantly insults me, and I'm the one that has to prove I'm not whatever name he called me?
Crazy. This is the most pointless discussion I've ever had.

Why do you even want to post here if all the news we use are evil imperialist propaganda outlets, and we're all such blind sheeple who just don't get it.
Like even the crazy kooky right-wing conspiracy types have like…a couple likeminds. Pretty sure you're all alone out in Tankie land.
-
Hmm. I wonder just how many professors out of all professors are tenured…? Also, why were all of those professors that I worked for driving around old beat-up cars and living in modest houses far from campus? P.S. Median income for most college professors is just barely at $90k, even for the ones who regularly bring in lots of grant money. It's an extremely underpaid job for the work and heart required.
Sorry that my answer regarding slavery seemed like a joke to you. Which of these is a bigger problem for the world at large today: racism or slavery?
Also, you'll have to forgive me if my next reply is slow - I'm late for my dinner at Ruth's Chris and my Benz will only get me there at a speed of 150mph tops. Need to leave some time to swing by the bad part of town and remind those guys beating up the little white kid that they aren't racist.

I know, it's amazing they tolerate someone gaslighting a Venezuelan on whether his country is being turned to shit or not.

Your ignorance is astonishing! no wonder you're such a cunt.
I have never denied Venezuela is in a critical situation, I have HOWEVER implied that it's being destabilized by the opposition itself, which is attempting to cause enough social unstability to get Venezuela intervened, and I have also PROVED with FACTS (as if his participation in the 2002 coup wasn't enough) that Leopoldo López isn't a political prisoner.
All you have is calling me a "kooky" and an idiot and all that but you're the idiot.

I think they're pretty closely married concepts, really. You always have this in-power race thinking another is less than human, so justifiable to own and enslave. I think they should be the same word, because they're inseparable.
Edit: you know fine I'll be serious for a sec too. If you're getting hung up on prominence and relevance, fine. Pick anything else. Sexism seems good. Tell me about how women can't be sexist.

Ah, but in that case, we've already got words like misogynist and misandrist to work with. Maybe the answer to all of this is to introduce terms like whitist and blackist. Trump sure is a Mexicanist, Islamist c-word!
-
It would certainly be a better solution. If it's too hard to say "racism toward blacks."

I confess I tuned this portion of the thread out at "IMPERIALIST MEDIA". I dunno there are just certain things that, once said unironically, destroy my ability to take the speaker seriously.
(Skims thread to catch up)
And now we're back to racism vs racism? -
It's one of those debates that refuses to die until all of one side has been completely annihilated. Kind of like racism in real life, except here there's a lot less actual violence and killing and significantly more snark and… humor? Is that the right word?
Don't be humorist.

Saudi,UAE,Egypt and Bahrain cut ties with Qatar, accusing it affecting national security and of supporting terrorism.
Basically it seems to be reaction to Qatar's closeness to Iran from what i can tell.
Very interesting that Al-Jazeera,the largest Arab media house is based in Qatar and the entire spat seems to have publically started out over a hacking of qatar's state media.
How will Oman respond? This is pretty big

Before you keep irrationally mocking me, a video of Leopoldo López explaining how he and Capriles kidnapped Rodriguez Chacin during the 2002 U.S. backed failed coup d'etat in Venezuela.
Saying "Leopoldo López" is a political prisoner is not knowing what you are talking about or blatantly lying. Which is what IMPERIALIST MEDIA does.
Yes, Imperialist media who aligns with my 27 years of life, where I have watched dear Chavez dismanteled any and all means to remove him from power, becoming a cult of personality, making the economy just depend on the state so when oil prices crashed venezuela becomes cubanized.
I've seen how the army went from an institution to chavez's cocksuckers.
I've seen how the money for infrastructure suddenly appeared in miami and madrid houses of the close relatives of the ministers
I've seen how many regular crimes
I've heard a fucking grenade, stolen or "stolen" from a military armory blew up the street bellow
My friends have been kidnaped for rescue, lost everything they had, and be forced to move on
I've talked with people who HAVE to dance the goverment's tune, most of them aren't because ideology or "the imperialist right has to be stopped", but because they have to eat, and depend on medicines, and the fear of not getting any.
I have to send my mother's great aunt her heart medicine because the goverment is blocking imports of medicine.
When I travel back, I have to fill my suitcase with medicines, deodorant and toothpaste. Every Venezuelan that I know also does that.
I've seen how after hardships and suffering we managed to beat Chavez electorally, just to him to go back up and push the same elections again, with the money of the state.
And now, instead of trying to negociate and diffuse this issue, they keep on selling the future of the country to the lowest price possible, to fucking wall street: https://www.caracaschronicles.com/2017/06/02/goldman-bad-government-much-worse/
After selling who knows how much future Oil to the chinesse, and how many foreign assets to the Russians.I guess I AM imperialist media, if Imperialist media is "A view that doesn't paint the asshole murderers of nations because Ideology, like castro, chavez, el che as heroes", you don't get to go "lalalalalalala IMPERIALIST MEDIA" against someone who lived all this shit.
tldw; of the video, Minister of Interior and Justice, Rodriguez Chacin was holed up with weapons the day after april 11th 2002, where goverment agents shoot the protesters on Llaguno bridge, as the man in charge of the security and safety of the state, was his responsability to answer for the gunmen. The two mayors went in, talked him into surrendering, and he was released not two days after, where all judgments of the Llaguno Bridge shooting were sweeped under the rug. My guess is that the day was more complicated that "The CIA attacked us, but didn't kill chavez because of reasons"
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Oh, there's the armed populace, because they are peaceful, they armed whatever person swore loyalty to Zombie Chavez.
I place the blame of this current situation solely in the goverment of Venezuela for the last 17 years, because instead of investing on sensible things like hospitals and public service infrastructure, they buy riffles through shady deals, build the "missions" in a way that they are inacountable black boxes where public budget goes in, and a fifth of what was paid comes out.
They went and took over private business, many times without the propper compensation, and any and all companies that they took over, they grinded to the ground.
The economy, this one is a doozie, but currency control, meaning that there is a way to get $ and € throught the goverment in a completely irreal price, and increacingly difficult hoops to jump (if you aren't allied with the goverment that is) and a real rate that is over 700% that price, Let's take my last pay, it was around 12k Bs. that througth the official rate was around 1800$, and through the market price was just 60$, that means that If you managed to get the goverment rate, you could bleed the country for that ammount, but if You couldn't get the official rate, then the goverment forced you to sell at that rate, meaning that if they didn't aprove your $ you just coulnd't import and sell, and had to close.
Maybe if the govrement needs to wreck things enough to not be taken out by "the evil right", that at this point is anyone hungry, maybe just maybe, they should focus on working instead of perpetuating themself in power?
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Oh, and how Leopoldo's "crime" was committed in 2002, and incarcerated him with completely different charges 12 years later. Not shady at all.
-
Fuck it, that was clearly over the line. Threadbanned
What was exactly over the line? I'm asking because I'm an ignorant who has no idea what's happening in Venezuela. (except that people are hungry)
-
tldr; the goverment is colapsing because they took the responsability of food and medicine distribution, the oil prices colapsed, they destroyed most of the productive aparatus of the nation, and they blame it in an "economic war" that claims that everything that ails them is product of "the empire" (Codeword for "The international right"), but fail to answer how their leftist economist didn't predict that severe market distorsions created by extreme price controls, destruction of private investment, and failing to provide stable economical and social institutions would damage the economy.
Also, the propaganda machine, and Chavez sheer charisma was used to paint themselves as victims. How many useful idiots like Shean Penn, Noam Chomsky, and other just belived him, and claim that other sources of information are just lies.
How he framed the ills of the people as the Right's fault, that they didn't had education or healthcare before him (they did), how many people died in the coup against him (justifiyng the deaths on both of his coups as he was the one moraly correct), and how he had armed the most radical believer of his followers to "Defend the revolution against imperial invaders". In reality he planted hate and weapons into dangerous groups to use without repercutions against his political opponents.

btw, why is Trump called a racist? like racist against black people? It's okay to call him islamophobic, racist against mexicans and latinos or even arabs but why against black people? I don't remember him saying something against them. Or I'm dumb i don't know.

I understand the populist part, but I'm an ignorant when it comes to economy. I don't know if it's hard to grasp or if I am just overcomplicating it myself tbh.
The crisis Venezuela is going through is very recent right? So, is this because Chavez's reforms weren't made for the long run? is this only because of oil? Why was a putsch attempted in 2002? Is the US involved in this mess? How did distributing food and medicine led to the collapse of the government?Anyway, I'm currently reading and listening journalists and specialists on the matter. I'll be less ignorant in a day or two I guess.
-
Long story short is that chavez waged war against private industries, and keept making policies that were disfavorable for anyone not "properly connected" to the state. Meaning if the company wasn't state owned, or owned by someone with deals with the state it would be hard pressed to come by foreign money.
This was terrible, but the country keept on trucking by purchasing… you know what? these dudes explain it better: https://www.caracaschronicles.com/2016/02/23/the-day-caracas-chronicles-went-viral-in-japan/
High oil prices meant that this unsustainable mess was allowed to continue. Once oil went down, then everyone wanted to keep their slices of the cake as big as they were, and something had to give. Meaning food and medicine imports.
Production was destroyed by chavez, imports were controlled by the goverment and destroyed by low oil prices.
It's like I come to a town, I purchase and poison the waterholes, and then I bring water from outside at a big cost, and distribute it at the cost of the original water source, and I forbid anyone of bringing water or recovering the waterholes. Once the money that I use to bring water is over, I die and my incompetent cronies focus on the profits instead of the water supply.

I feel out of my depth on this issue, bit this does seem big considering all the oil these countries hold. Also, where exactly does Saudi Arabia get off lecturing about terrorism? Surely their issue is something else.

‘KILL THEM ALL,’ CONGRESSMAN CLAY HIGGINS SAYS OF TERRORISM SUSPECTS AFTER LONDON ATTACKS
http://www.newsweek.com/clay-higgins-terrorism-kill-them-all-621066
Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins, speaking directly to “Christendom,” responded to*attacks in London by stating anyone suspected to be an "Islamic radical" should be hunted down and killed in a Facebook post Sunday, hours after seven people were killed and 48 others injured in the British capital.
Higgins, a former law enforcement officer who claimed his seat for the state’s third district last year, was one of many to vehemently condemnSaturday’s attack by suggesting punishments such as death and internment camps.

His housing related bullshit that purposely discriminated against black people. His clearly racist views on black people in.general. He assumes we all live in the ghetto. And one of the reasons why he put Carson in charge of a department he is the most unsuited for.

Sure, it seems like there's finally something we kind of agree on, even though the subject has been reduced to a triviality. In the end, in all honestly, I highly doubt the push to define racism unidirectionally has much to do with a lack of words like "blackist…" that seems like a gross reduction of the intent behind such a change. But if to you personally this all comes down to a simple vocabulary gap (even though it's perfectly possible already to be as specific as desired), then a new term is fine in my book... as opposed to the complete redefinition of an existing one.
But just to be clear, the only reason I felt the urge to get involved to begin with was how fervently you were trying to discredit the video in every possible way, with what I felt were downright absurd arguments like the physics claim (I mean come on) and crying "hypocrisy!" with no basis. Would've been different if you just argued against the video's claims (which I think you greatly misunderstood), rather than dramatically and unsoundly try to dismantle its integrity. I still would have disagreed with you, but I wouldn't have felt like I was debating a caricature villain. I feel like it took several iterations of multiple people arguing against you before you reshaped your point/concern into something somewhat defensible, at which point it was still at best something you had trouble articulating precisely or succinctly.
I hope you understand that I'm not saying any of this to insult you or keep picking a bone, but just to explain where I'm coming from. Your posts have implied that I have something personal against you, as if I'm coming after you unfairly or for no reason, but maybe you could try to understand my perspective above for why I reacted the way I did (and will continue to do in the future, if similar situations arise, whether or not you're involved).
-

I understand your position even if I still completely disagree about your assessment of pretty much all of what I had to say. I do really think that my main point didn't change at all from beginning to end. I won't deny that I'm not always the best at writing my thoughts succinctly, but I did really try my best to explain my perspective… and unfortunately I still think that you don't really understand where I was coming from because I don't really think that more vocabulary is the solution.
Anyway. I'm putting it to rest here.

A stab at the kind of people who belives that any and all political action is CIA or KGB inspired:
https://www.caracaschronicles.com/2017/06/05/jurassic-left-doubles-maduro/
We are not puppets. The idea that the only reason a hungry and betrayed people would rise is because "the CIA said so" is so stupid and patronizing that I wish to spit on the faces of those who belive it.
