Besides the Ultra Beasts, Alola forms and other variants, how many original pokemons can we expect from this game ? 100+ ?

I believe 73 is the number of new pokemon that were leaked. Most seem to think they're all that will show up. I hope for more, but those hopes aren't up.

! 73 new pokémon
! And regarding how many alola forms and ultra beasts…
! 18 alola forms
8 ultra beasts
! If you add everything, 99. Not that bad.

Mediocre VAs are par for the course now, but at least this episode had more content than the last one. Loved the Hoenn Legendary battle theme complete with tolling bell, even if they started looping the most boring part of it.
All that it missed was Roundabout playing at the end.
I kinda really like how they animate the different pokemon in all those shots.
The humans, on the other hand…

The same one from Saphire. They just got a very extreme change of design.

Lol, the funny thing is that it took me ages to realize the Yuki Nagato-esque Courtney in OR had the same treatment. Oddly enough, Matt's name is ringing a bell.
let me look it up….okay, it's Shelly.
The Magma/Aqua admin rework8ngs are fucking great.
There's a rumor/leak/whatever going around right now on Smogen and other places about the Champion of Alola having
! A team consisting of all Ultra Beasts, since they have typings and normal Pokemon moves, as well as a move unique to them. Probably not true like at all, but I think them having
! 1 Ultra Beast is ENTIRELY possible, since they are confirmed catchable and typed.

What if the Champion is Miror B? lol
I was hoping
! we'd get the normal 6 Pokemon team champion fight but then immediately afterwards the champion would turn into an Ultra Beast but that's not happening.
So… For those who have seen the leaks and data mining, and even for those who haven't, what starter are you going to be picking up, and what Pokemon are you most excited about seeing/catching/using?
Popplio comes first of course.

I'm going to buy the 2 games probably, so I'm probably using the 3 of them, if not probably the cat or the owl, as for others I really want Wimpod in my team after seeing it's evo, otherwise I like most of them, so I'll probably catch something on the fly, maybe event an Alolan version(Raichu probably).
Rowlet for sure.
Pretty keen on getting Jangmo-o, Vikabolt, Salandit and some water Pokemon I can pick up.

The hype I have felt for the Popplio line and the Alola Ninetales line have both been incredulously high to the point I am beginning to see them as meaningful to me as Whimsicott and Spritzee which are both very strong favorites of mine.
I also really like Lycanroc (day), Tsareena and Mimikyu, but they are still not at the tier of Popplio and Ninetales. I don't think I have ever felt that strongly about a starter.
Oh I forgot Mimikyu with all the memes, and jokes I actually got really attached to the little guy, I might actually use it.

Popplio is definitely my starter of choice, but I might pick Rowlett the first time since I'm not buying a second version and will likely want to play through the game at least twice, and I'd like Popplio to come from the game I plan to keep. Maybe I'll just use him twice.
Pyukumuku is my favorite design this gen, so that'll definitely go on my team. I've gotta use the wolf we finally got. Lycanroc's midnight form didn't really appeal to me at first, but it's grown on me, so I'll use that one. After that it's a toss up. The Mimikyu song made me want to use it, but that feeling might not last. Probably one of Tsareena or Lurantis, especially if they come in male. Alolan Ninetails will probably take up a slot too because I can't resist a good Ice type and the Fairy just makes it better. Salandit, Oricorio (Baile or Sensu style), Sandyghast and Oranguru seem like fun as well. If one of them ends up fitting on my team as a filler, they might just earn a permanent spot. Pikipek's final form seems interesting too… so excited for this gen :D
Rowlet is still my favorite of the starters design-wise, but I kinda want to hold off on using him till my future Nuzlocke run, so I'm thinking Popplio will be my starter in Sun too. Or maybe Litten just because I know my sister is also picking Popplio, being one of the very few people I know who actually preferred him from day one. Litten kinda lost a lot of his appeal to me when I saw what he ultimately becomes though…
Other than that, Alolan Raichu is definitely on my team, I do rather like Oricorio... other than that I'm not sure. And of course these choices do still depend on how actually useful these Pokémon turn out to be.
Since I've preordered Sun and Moon I'll go with Rowlett on Moon and Litten on Sun.
Otherwise there are plenty Pokémon I'd like to use but I haven't made my mind on my final team yet.
I'll probably settle on my members as I go in the game. Don't wanna spoil myself when and where a critters spawns.
What are the odds of Ash's Pikachu evolving into Raichu in the anime?
What are the odds of Ash's Pikachu evolving into Raichu in the anime?
Same chances of him winning a Pokemon League
Alolan Raichu though…
Ash's Pikachu isn't from Alola so it's probably not gonna evolve into Alolan Raichu.
Unless it turns out Pikachu was actually gifted to Professor Oak by his Alolan cousin?? (Plot twist!)
Pikachu sells millions while Raichu doesn't.
Alolan or not.
So… The Trial Captains & Kahunas seemingly are:
Trial Captains:
! There are 7, apparently, was confirmed during the NicoNico stream and then by Serebii.net
! 1. Normal
2. Electric
3. Grass
4. Water
5. Fire
6. Ghost
7. Dark (apparently, this is the "Golf Champion" that was mentioned in the Sun & Moon Demo, a person who is related to the past royal/royal family of Alola that bred Alolan Mewoth/Persian)
Kahunas:
! 1. Rock-type
2. Flying-type
3. Fighting-type
4. Dragon-type
I'm going with Rowlet and naming it Clint Barton if it's male or Kate Bishop if it's female.
I loved A!Ninetales and the
! Alolan geodude line. How come nobody's talking about A!Golem's magnificent manly body hair?!
Oranguru, wimpod, wishiwashi, Sun Lycanroc and salandit are strong possibilities for me as well

Alolan
! Geodude, or, at the very least, Alolan Golem, will probably end up being a unique typing too; Rock/Electric. That's really cool, imho.
I've bever actually played the standard pokemon games before. So this will be my first. I'm hoping I don't mess it up at the start. But I know I probably will because I'm probably going to have an unbalanced team due to my desire for aesthetics over ability.
I'll definitely be getting a Litten starter. But I also wanted other cat like pokemon lol. I think the ones I actually want I have to get through trade though. But not Aloha Persian….Seriously looks like Nermal I don't want it at all.
Rockruff will be my starter if I can catch him early enough. I really like wimpod and jangmo-o line as well. I also want type null if possible and will use Vikavolt and maybe a last new Pokemon, but I don't know. The leaks have really dampened my hype.

How did the leaks dampen you hype exactly?

Relax.
The game has ways of telling you your team is a bit unbalanced and you will adjust along the way. Sometimes you'll be walled by a certain pokemon so you'll teach one of your a super effective move or trade a low performing mon. The games are not difficult enough to make you need a perfect team from start.

I'm just very underwhelmed by the dex size and the pokemon within it. I'll still play the game, because i have since Gen 1, but I am disappointed in what could have been, especially seeing how fresh everything else is.
! I also hate any national dex with more old pokemon in it than new. I generally try to catch only new pokemon, but they just aren't exciting to me this gen, apart from a few.

Balanced teams don't matter as much in the core game. It really only matters in competitive play. Take this from the dude who used six of the exact same pokemon last gen.

Whoa. Hope you enjoy it, these days Pokemon games ease you into things.
And trust me, I've been impractical myself. In Ruby, my first team was almost entirely all grass types, and as a result, I couldn't beat the Elite Four.

Which pokemon was that?
Which pokemon was that?
Gogoat is the only pokemon worthy of my team.
Unfortunately, Alola doesn't let me have them until I upgrade the dex, so I'll have to make due with the scraps.

You could make a pretty fun monograss team in gen 3.
Sceptile
Breloom
Cacturne/Shiftry
Ludicolo
Tropius
Roselia

I had Sceptile and Breloom doing most of the work, Bellossom and I think Vileplume? were way underleveled. Drake's Salamance took everyone down with Flamethrower, and to this day, I'm cautious around that thing.

Yeah, Ludicolo is the only mon that could have saved you from that. Though you would have struggled mightily against Steven's Metagross if Breloom went down.
Well good as long as I can mostly beat the game lol.
Cause a Litten seems like fun.
But I thonk I'll have to track down people I can trade wuth mostly lol.
I want a Skitty a Shinx a Glameow a Purrlion and a Litleo.
Rockruff seems pretty neat too. Although I know it's not a cat lol.
