Now that was an awesome chapter.
The transition from an old generation to the new was done tastefully and without wasting time on unimportant details.

More like United States of GET REKT
Honestly, this chapter felt less impactful than some of the previous ones. I don't know if it's just because it was light on dialogue or because I wasn't too satisfied with the conclusion, but the emotions hit a lot less strongly this time around. Curious to see where All Might goes with his public image now.
AfO will definitely escape at some point and I'm still banking on him being more of the final villain than Shigaraki. Stain's callback was interesting too and I wonder what role he will play in the future.
Anyway, I think we just saw the final episode of Season 3.
As soon as I read All Might saying "United States of…" I was like oh holy fuck, a national grade smash? old Afo better brace himself! lol
Nice to see the new generation being pushed to the fore with All Might's true form/power limit reveal and Afo's imprisonment.
Damn good chapter. I don't have anything to say that wasn't already mentioned. the passing of the torch done from both sides was amazing. I thought the same things AFO mentioned at the end of the chapter, felt nice that he also mentioned them. :P United states of Smash was so cool ;-;
Love this manga.
Oh yeah. I wonder what is the Sea Stone of this manga. what are the police's method of keeping villains from using their quirks?

Probably some drugs that make it impossible for them to use their quirks.
Last couple of chapters and Stein arc somehow convinced me to this manga, at start when I heard about MHA and then I started reading it, stuff that I seen did not felt great, just another superhero shonen.
But with chapters I mentioned and when I realized its just prelude to something that can be 600 chapters long story it has great potential. During AM vs AFO fight author reminded readers many times that AM and AFO are just shadow of how strong they were in past so we will see New Generation of Both Villains and Heroes getting to surpass prime All Might and All For One and that idea already builds up amazing fights in future. If tangled with as much emotions as when we seen Stein go at it and lately with AM and AFO- this has chance to be real blast if it lives up to potential it has.
Strong episode this time around. Action was good, filler was appropriate, got small teasers of Ojiro and Tokoyami, and music was mostly on point. Very few quibbles.
One change I would make is All Might's entrance. It gives me goosebumps every time I read the manga. All Might's money shot was pretty good, but walking slowly to the stairs is a bit inappropriate given that students are in immediate danger. I also wish they had an alternate darker version of All Might's theme for moments like this when he's not smiling, and like in the most recent few chapters of the manga. His current one just feels…goofy.
I'm thinking something with ascending triplets instead of a flute trill, take the whole thing down an octave or two, emphasize more low brass, and maybe make it a little more of a march.
I fear that All Might will fall from the stairs and die a Kuina's dead!
In a more serious note; Bakugo will probably be the first one to learn about Deku, he already knows but he dismissed as something impossible and after seeing All might he'll probably put two and two together and that'll be four.

Cant wait for the ORA ORA ORA moment next week.
Yeah, that was a strong episode! Solid all around - animation, music, as an adaption and I also agree that All Might's regular theme didn't really fit the scene at the end that well.
I am having a hard time seeing where the threat is going to come from. Sure shigaraki is gonna be leading the villain alliance but hes not that strong. In a few years Deku will be as strong as All Might and there is no way shigaraki can compete with that.
I guess shigaraki is just going to agitate the underbelly of society and that will cause discord, but otherwise it shouldn't have any more effect then normal random terrorist attacks.
I also agree about All Might's theme, come on, the whole point of that entrance is that All Might's freaking pissed off, not "HERE'S THE HERO LET'S ALL BE HAPPY NOW"…
The action scenes were good, atleast.
I was at an art sale show at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center earlier (every year they sell 5000+ pieces of 6"x6" art- any medium- by artists all over the world) and it touched my heart to see a simple line drawing of All Might vs. Nomu (USJ version), right alongside oils on canvas, b&w photography, mixed media political cartoon collages, etc.
Didn't buy it, but it's still pretty awesome to see something like that out in the world.
I wish All-Might's "You're Next" was directed at the whole class instead of obviously only Deku. It would have been a really good inspire the next generation scene, even if Deku knew differently and Bakugo suspects so.

I mean, it's directed at the camera. Anyone watching could interpret it as All Might talking to them.
It's also an issue that Deku was the only one who could understand that message, as the only one who knew All Might was weakening and that right now he's completely spent. Even if All Might meant it to be for all the next gen heroes, only one could get the message.
Wow, what a freaking amazing fight. When this whole arc started, I didn't expect to see an ending that reminded me of Whitebeard's death. This time, without the dying part, of course. A very very powerful moment that took this series to another level. As many moments have in the past. The quality of it has been steadily increasing and I'm really happy to have started reading it so soon. All Might surviving but being rendered a completely normal human is a nice way to avoid getting rid of such a charismatic character, while at the same time making him useless as a "Get out of jail card". Nice. Can't wait to see how the next generation develops and culminates in Deku vs. Shigaraki. It feels like this was the end of the "prelude" and the real deal starts now!
A true changing of the guard. Pretty sad/emotional

The feels man the feels
Welp, "crippled" it is. Well, not exactly that, he is still capable of doing things, he just can't fight anymore.
Yo that arc was fantastic.
Be dammed you onion ninjas! Fantastic end to an arc.
I wonder how the police gonna change their ways from now on. I assume they have some powerful quirk users in their ranks, but I wanna know what makes they different from the Heroes Association.
My gosh was that ever poignant. Beautiful end of an era.

maybe a creation of Noumu type monsters to combat the villains. Could easily see something like this happening and possibly turning against them.
Dunno what hit me harder, if it was Deku at ending or Endeavor. I can almost see in Todoroki's face, that even him was feeling bad for his father.

On the other hand, for those who dislike Endeavor, this makes for a nice karmic Be Careful What You Wish For
Speaking of Endeavor, isn't he like a grown up Bakugou? I mean, I'd imagine if Deku grows up to be the number one hero, Bakugou would end up to be similar to Endeavor.

Either way I think it gives him some good characterization. As in characterizing him as essentially good. He's always kind of been like Bakugou in that he's a hero who's not really a great person, so it's nice to get this moment of him feeling conflicted about finally being at the top at the cost of his rival's health and the world's symbol of peace.

Those are the vibes I've always gotten in one way or another. They're both heroes with very unheroic and temperamental attitudes. I do hope Bakugou doesn't get into the weird master race breeding thing, though.
All this reminds of how One Piece world changed post-Whitebeard Era.

He heard Todoroki's back story before in the sports festival, so he at least knows what can result

I think it's a bit more than that. Endeavor never surpassed All Might by his own merit, or even any actions he took. In fact, you could even argue that Endeavor was so far below All Might he couldn't even help fight, and it was his own weakness that forced All Might to use up all his power. Obviously that's a silly perspective but Endeavor might be that self-centered.
Also, to continue the Bakugou/Endeavor parallels, Bakugou threw a similar tantrum at the end of the tournament with his hollow victory over Todoroki.

I'm guessing this'll become a major plot point. The police "reform" will likely involve retooling of hero law and increased militarization in order to better combat villains. Sounds boring on the surface, but Horikoshi hasn't shied away from dealing with the nitty gritty of that stuff- I'd say he's even foreshadowed its relevance quite a bit.
I shouldn't have read this at work. I teared up a bit. Man the chapter of feels. I think this is much more emotional than if All Might had actually died. Plots where someone is reduced to a mostly helpess state when they were so powerful always gets to me.

To be honest, this sounds like one of those scenarios that will backfire into making more villains.

I have to admit this chapter changed my view. All Might dying would still be powerful, but this is a much more interesting (and unusual) way to progress the story. And it's not a Pell situation either, we still lost something important.
It'll be fun (and sad) to see the real All Might teach the kids at U.A. Now that he doesn't have to keep up the facade, he might actually bond with the class.

Other than that, lovely chapter. This made me sadder than the last one, and that was already sad. The relationship between Midoriya and All Might is great, I love how he praised him for doing the right thing, correctly.
It's hard for me to explain why, but that scene made me relieved. I think in most other stories you read, Deku saving Bakugo would've either ended in crowds praising Deku for being a hero, or authorities scolding him for being reckless. Instead it's All Might and Kirishima who get the spotlight and Deku is praised by the one person who matters. It's much more heartfelt and personal.
It's such an inspirational story. I wish I could write stuff like this.
Extra shoutout to having this moment on the beach. There's potential sunrise/sunset symbolism, of course, but remember it's the same beach Deku worked hard to clear, and where he first received One for All. Great bookends and solid storytelling.
Interested in where the police force goes since they've mostly been in the backseat so far. We've already seen some flaws of the current system so expanding it should create even more resistance and more resentment within the class.
That was so satisfying that I wouldn't even have a problem if something extra shounen like a time skip appeared after the color page next chapter, this was so precious!
It never occurred to me that the Police would have quirks. Since for some reason when All Might mentioned the Police as an option for Deku at the beginning it sounded like a place for normies to go. But the majority of people have quirks…Then why are the Police seen as less than by others?
If I remember right, the police make a point of not using their Quirks when on the job. Can't remember the reasoning though.
What a great chapter.

Shouldnt Toshinori have trained Midoriya from the start?
The kid has no clue how One for All works and has suffered so many self injuries he is on the brink on becoming a crippled and only now when All Might can be killed by any two-bit villain seeking revenge he decides to focus on his training.
I have the feeling AM is still gonna visit Shigaraki, and we will get a scene similar to Han Solo and Kylo Ren.

A point was made that he wasn't very good at training, which is why Gran Torino even became involved in the first place.
He was also busy with chronic heroing.

Keyword on "sad."
I can already see a scenario of him walking into the classroom in his skinny form and being met with stares of sympathetic cringe and shock from the kids.

Like AfO said, he's a terrible teacher.
I hope they remember him from the School Tournament.
With so much stuff happening I didn't realize Deku used his power without hurting himself, nice. Man, it's gonna be awkward if Deku's father is still alive. All Might easily took Deku's number one male role model spot.
Love Team Facepalm slowly improving. People name dropping Whitebeard for All Might but I'm getting Blackbeard vibes from Shigaraki.
What will the police do? Hmmm… A quirk using special squad? Robots? Maybe throw some good turned evil robot Ultron stuff up in here. Or, research Noumu resulting in some dual quirks? Can't wait.
He is already able to do that without hurting himself since he trained with Gran Torino. The thing AM pointed out is that, for the first time, he actually managed to handle the situation without recklessly sacrificing himself.

Ugh no no no. No. Just nope.
