Zou is about 22 chapters long, so with the expected 4 episode movie filler arc this opening will probably last 25-30 episodes. For comparison Opening 14 "Fight Together" was used for 24 episodes.
One Piece Opening 19 and Zou Arc key visual
-
-
I assume this will be used after Zou, too, since the arcs connected.
-
Maybe like a chapter or two, but we're going to be getting loads of new characters in Totland. At the very least Toei will want an opening with the Vinsmokes in it.
-
They could just darken them until their arc starts. I think they did the same with We Go.
-
Wow, I'm genuinely suprised by how much this simple promo shows.
[hide]
I mean, we have Carrot and Wanda which I expected; but you can even see Raizo in the background. They're cutting it super close considering how close they are to the manga itself.
[/hide]On a side note….
[hide]
I now have a rekindled liking of Nami and Robin's Zou outfits, especially Robin's, considering that in the manga her outfit struck me as kinda boring.
[/hide]They always love putting spoilers in them lol.
-
I'm kind of ready for a filler arc. I've been in a funk about getting back into the anime and having a break would be great! Also excited for a new opening!
-
To be honest I really liked opening 12, clashing theme be damned. I actually didnt know it was hated until hearing season 1 of the one piece podcast and hearing greg talk about it like the song spit in his frien's face. It's an earworm for sure though
Because 'Kaze who Sagashite' was composed by someone who bragged that he never watched an episode of One Piece on a complete whim and not only rejected the heart of the series but was the polar opposite of what was an arc about going to hell and back for a loved one.
The song was famously rejected by the Japanese audience as well and resulted in one of the most decidedly fitting One Piece OP's for its time, One Day.
If one enjoys KoS by itself that's completely understandable. There's little space for hatred in my heart at an actual song. However, a song that completely rejects everything at the heart of the series which it represents is a completely different issue. Pretty Cute songs are pretty catchy too but you don't see them being slapped on One Piece for a reason.
There's really no room for debate there, that's exactly what happened, the media here covered it and Shunsuke was called out for it and basically said 'zero fuqs given' while lol'ing to the bank.
The same Shunsuke that liked to crap out his staff over petty things and was caught slapping the ass of his female co-host on live television. Karma caught up with him when he was ostracized from media and entertainment when it was revealed he had yakuza ties.
Real winner there. 'Hyuu Hyuu YAAAAAY!'

Well I also have the benfit of not understanding the words and just kind of accepting it.If ot's objectively bad, I consider it a guilty pleasure then, that dude sounds real shady as hell though.
Does OPP still have the winners for the contest 12 remake somewhere on YT? I watched season 1 and that soujded like a cool idea but with the passage of time it wouldnt surprise me if they were not around.

They could just darken them until their arc starts. I think they did the same with We Go.
The first two episodes had Luffy running in front pre-TS shots of each member instead of them fighting random marines. The anime's never been shy about spoiling things in openings anyway.
Maybe the anime starts overlapping them a bit like they did back during the Paramount War Saga but I think they'd be better off trying to stick to the island arc structure.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also, One Day is my least favorite opening in the anime, thematics be damned. At least Kaze who Sagashite is a fun song. Opening 13 is just walking through an ice field mixed with isolated shots of other characters, all set to angsty music. You know what else has openings just like that? Bleach.

Silver mine arc villan designs + synopsis http://onepiecepodcast.com/2016/06/05/silver-mine-arc-villain-designs/
-
… before seeing the Devil Fruit factoid I thought Aberon was a quadruple amputee and was all "what the fuck...?"
-
that barrel man scares me.
he looks like something out the those creapy wheeler from return to wizard of OZ
his smirk of his hides pure evil. -
Opening 19 preview. It definitely sounds better than Hard knock Days
I'll wait for the full version to pass my judgement.
-
Getting Brand New World vibes from the preview.
-
I feel this is going to be a great opening.
BTW, at 0:14 we can see the same poster we received days ago, and Usopp has a completely different color palette.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Dezaia looks awesome! I wish she was canon.
-
Would've been nice to hear Kitadani's part but regardless, I'm excited to hear the full opening on June 25th.
-
"Peseta" was the name of the currency of Spain before Euro
-
Given her hairstyle, I'd be very surprised if Dezaia isn't Bartolomeo's sister
The fact that this ties into Film Gold definitely makes the movie non canon, since all the Straw Hats are in it and this arc is after Dressrosa
-
Thanks for the pics, redon and Yonkou!
Silver Mine arc will start on 26 June.
Luffy and Bartolomeo get kidnapped by Silver pirates alliance. They try to escape from the large fortress situated on a gigantic silver mine.Cool.
As long as it is good, then i'm looking forward to it…..
Though can't wait for them to get on with Zou... -

BTW, at 0:14 we can see the same poster we received days ago, and Usopp has a completely different color palette.
Also notice now that the 'Cat' and 'Dog' are missing. Character placement is quite different, the poster we saw days ago is likely the updated final visual.

Lol,
One piece, the only anime where we, the fans, want fillers -
Actually as a fan I want something even more twisted :ninja:
-
I'm happy, we finally get some good one piece opening, though i didn't disliked hard knock days i love Kishidan and Kitadani!
-
Love Kitadani's work hands down
-
It's me or the singers looks like Germa 66?
-

Let me guess, Toei ending One Piece anime production?

Let me guess, Toei ending One Piece anime production?
LoL You guessed right.
Coincidentally I just had a dream where the anime had gone farther than the manga. It was quite thrilling, Sanji was desperately trying to escape one of Big Mom's officer that kind of looked like Aphelandra. Among her officer she also had a girl with four arms and some kind of mummy. Maybe I've watched too much Hero Academia -
On the One Piece Podcast, they've translated a intervew to Kishidan and Hiroshi Kitadani, and another one to Hiroshi Kitadani. If someone wants to read it, it's here: http://onepiecepodcast.com/2016/06/24/one-piece-opening-19-interviews-kitadani-hiroshi-kishidan/

Well "disappointed" is the least. I mean, okay, you put poigne and Kaido in, but why, why keep with that on ship scenes?? At least upgrade them with the samurais or Law… why keep to put the same shit in ever and ever... However this seems to be an only-Zou arc... what about the next arc?
-
Love the song itself, it's very energetic and better than Hard Knock Days. As for the visuals, the Zou stuff was great. The Straw Hat ship antics were par for the course. Now, the fight scene…what the hell? I mean, I obviously like Kaido being in it, but this is worse than when the Straw Hats fought the admirals in Wake Up!
This will probably only last as long as the Zou Arc, so it'll be around about as long as Fight Together.
-
LoL At they fighting Kaido. But yeah, I am not feeling the song here.
What is with the random Water Gun Fight?
-
I can't see shit, the quality soo bad.
will wait for decent quality before making an opinion on it.
-
Great song, shitty visuals. Why is Toei insisting on the Fishman Island outfits? Those were the worst in the entire series.
-
Song is better than the last two but visuals are definitely weaker than Hard Knock Days. Too many stills and blank expressions, and do Nami and Robin really have to be expressly relegated to fanservice? Robin's got like 6 pistols there, let her giggle as she holds one of the crew up water gun point. It's made worse by the noncombatant role she's given during the fighting showcase. At least the arc preview portion looked good.
Not a huge of the song, particularly the main guitar riff, but I can see how they opted for a punkish theme over a more adventurous one what with the turmoil in the world.
-
That was….weird to say the least. Didn't care for the song myself but I thinks this intro actually showed clips from future episodes. Have they done that before an in OP?
Hyping up Luffy VS Kaido was amusing. That last like 30 seconds of the OP are the best as it actually shows where they are in the story lol.
-
Count me in the group that liked the song but didn't care for the visuals. They felt pretty phoned in. Nothing very wow about them. The Zou specific stuff was okay. Too many long still shots of everyone standing around grinning…
-
I liked the opening. I agree the visuals could be better, especially in the first half, though the water fight was kind of fun. Once the action part with Jack and Kaido started, it definitely got better. I actually really like the song so far, too - definitely more so than the past few openings we've had.
-
Alright OP, catchy song. My socks aren't blown off, but I wasn't expecting it anyways.
This freeze frame got a good laugh out of me.
[hide]
[/hide] -
It does bug me how the song/footage starts building up to something starting with the Poneglyph bit through the Emperors/Supernovas, then suddenly nope! Straw Hat water fight! It's like they momentarily forgot that One Piece doesn't do 1:30 openings any more.
There is some good stuff in there, but yeah, it's somewhat unpolished structurally, though we'll see how long this goes considering who Luffy's actually going to knock heads with post Zo.
-
Carrot looks uber cute
-
Now that I've seen in again in HD, I…..like this opening.
The song is nice, but it feels very generic punk. Nothing so far that'll make me want to listen to it again and again. But that might change after it's grown on me.
The visuals are great, especially with the most increased digital effects we don't usually get in a One Piece opening.I guess I'm the opposite from you guys.
I didn't expect them to tease anything past Zou since this current manga arc is still new.
I agree with Crossword that the lead-up to the poneglyph scene with no big pay-off afterwards was weird.LoL At they fighting Kaido. But yeah, I am not feeling the song here.
What is with the random Water Gun Fight?
Upon further inspection, it looks like their swimming outfits from this color spread.
Great song, shitty visuals. Why is Toei insisting on the Fishman Island outfits? Those were the worst in the entire series.
Why are there people who are still confused on this?
Those are the crew's DEFAULT post-timeskip outfits. The same way Luffy's default outfit pre-timeskip was the red vest and blue shorts.
They're everywhere, from video games to live attractions. If you're going to complain about that, hold the other openings accountable as well.
Sometimes the girls will wear different outfits in the opening (because they change outfits the most) but it doesn't change what the default outfits are. -
Great song, shitty visuals. Why is Toei insisting on the Fishman Island outfits? Those were the worst in the entire series.
They're the default post-timeskip outfits. Oda often uses them too.
-
Hello,
Someone kmow the names of the animators key who worked on this opening? an the animator director?
It is very importantthank you ;)
-
@Galaxy:
0:33 …. "as everyone else goes about their business Nami, steers the ship with a crazed smile on her face. What sadistic evil plan is she hiding behind that smile???"
-
Nami looks so hot in the new opening
-
-
They're the default post-timeskip outfits. Oda often uses them too.
And he shouldn't because they are shit. It annoys me as well.
