@BeariousJones:
If Pedro is the traitor than he has a connection to Kaido who is in WANO. So Pedro would have to SECRETLY communicate with Wano. Not really jaguar behavior.
…..huh??
More like an assassin, double agent, or …ninja.
No I'm sorry, huh???
Come again??
Why the hell can't Pedro have secret contacts with another character?? Can you actually explain that one in full for us all?
You just completely dismissed a valid possibility with "No, he's a jaguar".
Which is an absolutely meaningless nonsense statement.
Explain what on earth you mean.
http://www.ninjaencyclopedia.com/techniques/tactics.html
I'm getting some super deja vu of a conversation, probably with you, where it was wrongfully asserted that doing things like spying and passing along information = ninja. Which no it does not.
Ninjas are one of THOUSANDS of historical and modern examples of spies….or hell not even spies specifically but just the act of spying that anyone can do.
You say this also like "KAIDOU IS ON WANO SO NINJA, BECAUSE WANO IS JAPAN".
Which of course is wrong because Kaidou is not from Wano, and his crew is not from Wano. Wano is just one island he's apparently taken control of....and being as he's a Yonkou....that's one island of a fuckton. Proven further by seeing Big Mom's very own empire this past chapter if you (probably) forgot the Yonkou control large territories.
Working for Kaidou in no way shape or form associates a character with Japanese elements.
The application of double agents
As this is emphasised in the art of war book by " Sun Tzu (孫子) ", double agents were very significant for the governance in spite of it being risky because only convenient and false information would be transmitted to enemies through them.
Sun Tzu, a Chinese man who "lived and died" (well the writings are this old anyway) before Japan existed (let alone ninjas) talking about a concept universally seen even in his day. Regardless of land of origin. There were spies in Rome, spies in India, and yes spies in China. There is nothing whatsoever uniquely Japanese about spies. To make some ninja connection you'd have to firmly connect a Mink to the Minkless country of Wano, which you've nonsensically attempted to do via Kaidou.
Unless Pedro is actually a Wano human in a Mink suit you're shit out of luck in all manner of ways.
Oh…speaking of that scene, how do you think Pedro escaped the crucifix? Strong Minkmen were the ones chained and tortured. One possibility is he is a ninja which helped him escape after going through torture.

! AIR METHOD
This refers to hiding like a raccoon, Tanuki gakure no-jutsu. It means that one should climb
a tree or other high place and press oneself against the object so that one seems to be a part of it.
The infamous jewel thieves, Alan Kuhn and Jack Murphy-who stole the Star of India from a
New York museum-made frequent use of this tactic. They believed, and rightly so, that people
seldom look up.
http://www.ninjaencyclopedia.com/techniques/escape.html
! Getton (月遁) To escape by means of the moon. For example, a ninja escaped at the moment when the moon is hiding behind a cloud at night.
Raiton (雷遁) To utilize thunder. A ninja escaped from his enemies while they are being surprised at the sound and light of thunder.
Denton (電遁) A ninja generates static electricity and makes enemies astonished by it. The ninja escapes from there in the gap..
Okuton (屋遁) To make a use of buildings. For instance, a ninja lurking in a shed. http://www.ninjaencyclopedia.com/techniques/survive.html
! It goes without saying that the environment around ninjas was always so severe. Even if ninjas succeeded in their mission, it was meaningless if they could not make it back home. Ninjas were not permitted to even die. This was the rule of the community they belonged in and not for humane reasons.

! It states ninjas when kids were trained in bone dislocation which helped with escape.
So absent any actual connections to ninjas, you basically are just literally randomly speculating about how a ninja would escape a thing.
Might as well start linking to a bunch of stuff about really any job or thing ever at all. About as relevant.
Either way Pedro is still a ninja.
Pedro is not a ninja.
Who are these "lots of people" that you speak of? :wassat:
Literally any people who have ever lived in or near a forest ever in history.

@Don:
I don´t care about the position, i just elaborated to you where I encountered such a position, which made me think of its existence.
Bringing up Oda might not have been a good move, but i just brought this character up so you would better get my perspective and that others might had an equal influence to think of it as a position.
Having thought about "lookout" that should pretty quickly establish "Wow! What a boring unimportant job to base a character around!". Then you can happily move on.
I wasn´t pro filling such a position in the first place, so i don´t want to argue that, but i doubt you know Oda well enough to be able to say what he might know and what not.
Do you really have absolutely no perspective of plausibility or the sort of things that perk interest in normal humans, let alone Oda, that you actually think this tertiary Asterix character would provide inspiration for a main cast member?
That it was not mentioned in the manga is the argument you should keep, but you could spare yourself references to Odas mind, even when you think you have some connection to it others hope to have.
If even this deep in the series you have this little grasp of Oda's tastes and interests, then you have no right to question insights other people have.
I'm honestly impressed you're this clueless about the guy whose work you've been following for like a decade.
Your posts here have the tendency to fall into that "dissecting each and every word", while losing the main premise.
I wasn´t arguing for Pedro, it was just clarifying the "lookout-position".
Your clarification was the thing losing sight of the point. I never denied the literal existence of people who stand in crow's nests and announce when they see stuff. I was denying Oda's interest, or even acknowledgement, of this as a special actual position the way he does things like chef or navigator. That people actually thinking there is plausibility for this position among the Strawhats are bankrupt in the logic department.

@sanji''s_dad:
pick a ninja from wano then some minks most likely live there as well due to the alliance between the 2 kingdoms a ninja mink on wano that hides their body so that people don't know they're a mink until they take their mask off to show the straw hats or you could pick the ninja that we have actually seen raizo.
the current minks are just going to make a mink alliance crew that follows the straw hats around.
Wano is a closed isolated society. There won't be Minks running around the joint. Maybe one or two hidden in secret at best. And even that is unlikely as heck.

@BeariousJones:
…hmmm...so my "sources" about Pedro having skills that coincide with ninja skills didn't help my case in the slightest? :sad: So be it.
Your sources were mostly "PEDRO ESCAPED MAYBE FROM A THING, HERE ARE WAYS NINJAS ESCAPE = PEDRO IS NINJA".
The other source talks about how ninjas are sneaky, which apparently means because Pedro perches like a cat he is a ninja.
You have absolutely no idea what a person actually uses sources for or like and seem to be randomly mimicking behavior of others without understanding it.
