Well my Dallas Cowboys have been able to create chaos in the NFC East once again. The division is open again thanks to three teams being 5-7 and Dallas being 4-8. Anything goes now.

Looks like the accident waiting to happen already did:ninja:

Shit will hit the fan if the Cowboys beat the Packers. But even then, we know that they'd still lose the division in the end

I'd be very surprised. I know they're not even playoff material this year, but somehow the way the rest of the division is playing they've been able to stay in the race. Whether they do make it to the playoffs or not this year, at least they're keeping things interesting.
-
I didn't realize that there were only eleven NFL teams above .500 this season. There's almost as many sub-.400 teams as there are teams with winning records.
-
Holy smokes. Have the Jaguars ever even scored 50 points?! Ever??? Time to clean house! Fire everyone and draft me a new young prodigy quarterback that won't break his foot in practice!
-

First thing I thought when I saw that score. I'm not sure how the Colts are going to sleep tonight
-
Carolina will go 16-0 and probably finish with only two games against opponents with winning records. Their remaining games are @Giants, @Hawks, and Bucs.
Am I the only one who finds this horribly depressing?
-
i'm cool with that. i'd like to see a carolina/seahawks superbowl imo… but then again a lot of my friends over here are Carolina fans haha

You mean the Falcons, right?
I fully expect the Panthers to make it into the Super Bowl this year, as long as they don't choke in the playoffs (my uncle is a big football fan, and seems to think this is what'll happen). That'd just be sad at this point, with all the momentum they've got.

Is that theoretical? Because it's currently impossible.
If I had to pick a Super Bowl I'd want the Packers and… the Jets? Maybe Houston for the lulz.

Lol yeah, my bad. I've been following basketball more than football this year.

yeah i think it would be a good game. though maybe the seahawks from last season or the previous one…

Man, the Denver offense was just painful to watch. I was hoping to work the basement magic but to no avail.
Looks like NE is going to be the AFC champ now that Cincy's lost Dalton, I'll be bandwagoning Carolina if they meet but hoping Pittsburgh will give NE some trouble in the playoffs.

I don't think history smiles kindly on teams that are 14-0 before heading in to the playoffs. They face difficult decisions towards the end of the season. Usually they wind up resting players some, taking their foot off the gas pedal, losing their edge, and then building up that rust with the bye week they earned. The Pats got close that one year by going for the undefeated season, but the pressure of it all wound up being too much in the end.
I think the Panthers might be the best team in football right now, but I also think they may have screwed themselves by going undefeated to this point. Teams that are playing desperate and at the top of their game at the end of the regular season are usually the most dangerous.

That's where the Cards and Steelers look dangerous to me. I think New England was only really concerned with the prospect of playing at Denver (where Brady doesn't have the best history, for whatever reason), but I could totally see a hot Steelers team going into New England and Antonio Brown going nuts.
Cards might have gotten a silver lining with David Johnson being the starter now. I really like him.
-
They would be friends
-
It's impossible for both teams to go to the superbowl this year. As both are NFC teams. Superbowl is NFC team and a AFC team.
-
AFC South winner vs NFC East winner in the Super Bowl. It's gonna happen!!!
-
The Panthers just lost their perfect season to the Falcons of all teams. Can't say I was expecting that.
-
I like to think that Tom Brady has a little closet he goes to just yell whenever he loses
-

That a stupid coin toss decision figured into it makes that loss a lot funnier. STRATEGERY!
-
I'm gonna need the red rider BB gun to be the red rifle tomorrow night so my boys can clench the division.<3

Why do that himself when he can let his wife do it for him:ninja:

Dalton probably isn't coming back until the playoffs.
Anyway, I just noticed that there is a chance an Andy Reid coached team may be playing a Weeden Quarterbacked team in the playoffs. Normally gamblers would leap at a chance to bet against either of them, but what do they do when they are in the same game? I assume you take Houston there because of Hopkins.
-
Let's see, the Redskins are headed to the playoffs, the Panthers lose to a team they beat by 38 points two weeks ago, the Pats lose, the Seahawjs lose to the Rams AGAIN, and the Ravens decide to ruin things for their rivals up north. The only orderly thing about this season is that the Bills missed the playoffs again.

bingo bango~ !
-
The Panthers looked like almost every 14-0 team I've ever seen. Just not that hungry anymore. The Packers are toast unless they get some offensive linemen healthy. The way the Cardinals are playing right now, I like them to win it all.
The Rams continue their tradition of punking NFC West teams while losing to almost everyone else. The ending of the Jets Patriots game was probably the funniest thing I've seen all year. I said it near the beginning of the year, but I really like Todd Bowles a lot more than Rex Ryan. I also wonder if Jason Garrett can clap his way to a contract extension.
The game tonight looks like a good one. Two Super Bowl hopeful AFC teams each playing backup QB's.

How did Andy Reid get such a bad playoff rep? He made it to the conference finals like four straight years, and simply failed to cash in on it. And this would be a mere wild card game. I'll bet that his record in wild card games is better than .500, actually.
-
This Broncos and cinci game is intense
-
Oh bleacher report, how I love you. <3
-
If the colts some how manage this, I'll just cry. That would be just our fucking luck lmao
-
yeah you're tellin' me. Well if we lose to the jags I don't fucking care what happens, I'd have to quit football until draft season because of my anger. Even though the Dolphins beating the Patriots will be impossible.
-
There's some crazy stuff on that list. It's practically all upsets. The Jags aren't as bad as they've been in years past. They dropped 50 on the Colts this year. I actually like some of the pieces they're putting together for once. Bortles, Robinson, and Hurns can light some teams up. They're still not a playoff team or anything, but they've climbed out of laughing stock territory. The Titans have been far worse this year in that division.
Chip Kelly has officially been fired. Philadelphia knows true professional sports misery right now. I don't think I've ever seen a city with 4 teams that had so much combined futility.
-
today in a nutshell
-
Hail to the Redskins! Neither I nor many other fans expect them to win a playoff game, but a winning season, playoff spot, and a Cowboy whipping are all great.
-
Turns out that just over half of it came to pass.
I remember one of these scenarios from a few years ago where something like eight of the nine necessary steps happened but the team didn't make it because they lost to one of the worst teams in the league.
-
Damn the Patriots lost to the Dolphins?…...What was the excuse this time?
-
i think they're back to blaming injuries again
-
My reaction to Patriots losing
Boy is it awesome to watch them lose especially when it's one of your favorite teams
-
The unpleasantness of the Cards getting their yearly ass-kicking by the Seahawks was somewhat mitigated by the Patriots, my least-favorite team, losing to the Dolphins.
-
Pats really are banged up, though. I hate them as much as the next guy but they are down a lot of key pieces.
Anyway, wildcard weekend:
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals
Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans
Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings
Green Bay Packers at Washington RedskinsI think, who ya got?
-
@Steven:

everybody's lost key pieces and as long as they have brady and gronk on the field, they wont be getting much sympathy from me. Also you cant blame injuries for shitty calls like giving the Jets the ball in OT or calling for an unnecessary onside kick against the Eagles when you're already up a couple of scores. That's either over-thinking it or flat out underestimating your opponent
-
I'd like to see
Bengals > Steelers
Chiefs > Texans
Vikings > Seahawks
Redskins > Packersbut the only one I think will actually happen is Chiefs > Texans. Bengals are still the Bengals until proven otherwise, especially with a backup QB. Vikings have been exposed by pretty much every good team they've faced, save for this week. And I just don't see Aaron Rodgers bustering out in the playoffs against a Redskins team that is lucky to be where they are.
-
Steelers, Chiefs, Seahawks, Packers
-
Well Black Monday is officially here
Coughlin has resigned from the Giants, while Browns and 49ers coaches have been given the boot
-

Well given those lost games were against the Jets and Eagles underestimating them would be understandable. I mean yeah those two teams may not be going into the playoffs but at the very least they each got a feather in their cap…....as did Miami lol.
-
I'd take Steelers, Chiefs, Vikings, and Packers. My Super Bowl pick is Chiefs over Cardinals.
-
Wow Peyton is back. I'd be so happy if he could ride off into the Superbowl Sunset this year.
I heard someone mention the idea of having Brock play the first half while Peyton watches and observes the opponent's defense, then bring him in for the 2nd.
-
And then, somehow, we clawed our way to the playoffs. As a Texans fan, I'd like to see us make it to the divisional round. That's all I ask for.
The steelers and seahawks are pretty hot and I would NOT wanna play them. lol
edit: also I'ma need the NFL to give J.J. Watt his third DPY award so he can join LT. ty <3 And also be the only Player in NFL history to get it 3 years in a row.
