Yeah, Vaatis ze big idea?
-
-
Speaking I links awakening I just got a copy of for the frogs the bell tolls. Time to appreciate another game with similar humour
-
Oh god but the gameplay in that game is pretty cringeworthy.
-
Yeah I don't quite understand how battles work. But the rest of the game isn't too bad

Toon Link confirmed for Hyrule Warriors

Toon Link confirmed for Hyrule Warriors
And I'm just sitting here waiting for Groose to be available.
A man can dream, can't he?
-
This game has 3 Links now? Yare Yare Daze…
-
It also has 3 Zelda. And considering how different each weapon is..
I don't know If I should get hyrule warriors or pirate warriors 3…
-
technically the 3 Links are 3 seperate people that just happen to share the same name by fate (same applies to zelda)

There's more information too, which was published in this week's Famitsu magazine.
There hasn’t been much said about Hyrule Warriors Legends since its first appearance at E3 2015 in June. But that all changed with the release of this week’s issue of Famitsu. In Famitsu’s article, the big piece of news is the reveal of Toon Link. He has a sword-based, quick attacking style. While he’s small, he can send large groups of enemies flying. Toon Link can jump high or use the Deku Leaf to attack. He’s a very technical battle type. Naturally, Toon Link has different actions than regular Link. There’s a new hammer item which lets him smash the ground to shake all the surrounding enemies.
Yesterday’s Famitsu leak told us that the Helmaroc King will appear in Hyrule Warriors Legends. The enemy can cause huge gusts of wind from its great wings, and it possess great strength in attacks compared to the usual enemy. Miniblins (Wind Waker) and Big Blins (Spirit Tracks) are also shown in the various Famitsu screenshots.
Wind Waker will be added as a new chapter in Legend Mode with an original story. However, Toon Link will not be playable here (available in other modes). Famitsu mentions that, with regards to the story, a new unusual event happens in Hyrule and Link sets off on another journey. The magazine teases: “Just what kind of story will it be featuring the heroine Tetra and King Hyrule?”
There will be a number of new areas added for the Wind Waker section of Hyrule Warriors Legends. Famitsu shows Windfall Island, Dragon Roost Island, and Forsaken Fortress in its screenshots.
Toon Link (and eventually the other new characters) will be playable on the Wii U version, seen in updated graphics. Based on screenshots shown in Famitsu, it seems that these new locations will be available in the console version as well. It’s important to mention that there are plans for new characters to continuously appear. Other than Tetra, King of Hyrule, and Toon Link, there are plans for characters that are still unannounced. Characters from previous works will come as DLC, too.
We also have information about a couple of new elements aside from characters and levels. A new golden ocarina item is being added. This causes a great twister to appear that can take you to various Owl Statues you find throughout the battlefield. It might be an important component in time-based missions.
Hyrule Warriors Legends is due out in Q1 2016. We’ll be seeing more of the game at the Tokyo Game Show next week. -
Well if we are getting 3 links and 3 Zelda, at least another ganondorf should come, even if ww one is pretty close move set wise to the hirule warriors one.
-
New video for Hyrule warriors 3DS
it shows Toon Link and a few other things such as Ganon's bird from Windwaker is a boss monster and that Toon Link will have the mega hammer from ALBW as a alt weapon
-
The hammer is actually a new item not a new weapon. It also hints that ganondorf is the likely villain again. I reckon he will have a toon Ganondorf costume
-
Costume? Pshaaa, full toon ganondorf or bust.
-
Browsed trough Deviant art and yeah, whatever they do in the future with the Zelda franchise, please keep this cool and ultra badass design of Impa from Hyrule Warriors.
!
^That's just perfect. -
This post is deleted!
-
Oh please. It combines Ocarina of Time's and Skyward Sword's designs, and it just looks sooo good.
Funny how much Impa's design rotates throughout the Zeldaverse:
[hide]
[/hide]Anyone who doesn't ship Hyrule Warriors Zelda x Impa is a liar!
[hide]
[/hide] -
Heh, the other designs aren't that bad eiter, but like I said with the recent one they reached a certain level of perfection. ^^
Also did the Shiekah just send a random girl or woman named Impa to the castle everytime a Zelda is born?
-
They are just different stages of Impa's life really; I don't see contradictions in any of the portrayals. This is just the first time we get a truly young, badass Impa (Skyward Sword comes close but it's also Skyward Sword XD). It's definitely refreshing when that comes to the forefront, as opposed to an aged version who is more of a caretaker or mother figure.
-
I really really like the universe of Hyrule Warriors.
Zelda, the once helpless princess you always to save, gets to charge into battle with a rapier and light magic and kill some monsters to literally defend her kingdom and her people. It's a nice evolution to how much her role has slowly expanded and evolved since the very first game (where Ocarina, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess gave her more to do). Plus she's gorgeous in this game.
Link is your standard Link, but really taking on tons of goons at once to save the kingdom. It's neat how he starts off as an actual soldier for Hyrule, opposed to some village kid or fairy kid. Definitely would like future games to take a little more liberty with a Link's backstory.
And Ganondorf….sniff dat hair, the armor....using swords.....what a majestic creature.
HW Ganon is close to WW Ganon in my heart, but HW Zelda is my absolute fav of all Zelda portrayals. Link can go either way, since Link is cool no matter what.
-
^I agree on everything you said
(where Twilight Princess gave her more to do).
Funny thing is I replay TP at the moment and when Zanto enters the throne room I was like; Blow this twat away with your Light magic swords, dammit. On the other hand, if she does that all the time no Link is needed…
-
I hope Impa and Sheik appears in Zelda Wii U. And do more than just teaching you songs.
-
What I don't like of HW Impa is that now the ninja retainer is going to be THE Impa, and it will be hard to try a new one. She's cool but she's too close to Sheik. If sheik was retired it would be no issue.
-
I wish Sheik was his own character as well.
-
Also did the Shiekah just send a random girl or woman named Impa to the castle everytime a Zelda is born?
It's a coincidence, just like how Zelda is always Zelda or Link is always Link.
-
Zelda is a royal name thing, most likely every Hyrule princess ever is called that.
Link is a little trickier, because in reality we are naming him all the time, he could be Matt, or Perra, or "Hero". We by playing as him chose him to be the Link, the hero of the (current thing).
-
This is starting to get into "thinking too hard about a video game franchise" territory.
-
So this interesting Link render is floating around the web. It is coming from a Nintendo advertisement and is a brand New HD render of Ocarina of Time Link
!
-
It's just because Link is one of the faces of Nintendo. I'm sure there is a Mario one as well.
-

Yeha but the point is that it is a brand NEW HD render that has apparently been made just for this little poster. Still, it could just be nothing.
-
Probably marketing materials. I'm sure it will pop up in other places to advertise Nintendo.

http://gematsu.com/2015/10/hyrule-warriors-legends-adds-playable-skull-kid
Skull Kid confirmed for Legends. Also phantom ganon is a boss so get ready for tennis matches to be a thing.
I am guessing that Groose and Linkelle will be the last two added.
-
Skull Kid? Reminds me of the salty people back when the Majora pack was revealed. Cool beans.
As much as a female Link is intriging, I dunno if I want three Links for this game…..
-
There are still people hoping for that Female Link BS?
-
There are still people hoping for that Female Link BS?
And why not? Why is it "BS"?
Zelda is the one series where you could do this and have it make sense. I hate the idea of forced gender swapping a character when it'd make no sense. IE, Never make Mario a woman, never make Samus a guy etc…
But the majority of Zelda games stars a DIFFERENT Link. It's just a resurrection of the spirit of the Hero. Who is to say that the Spirit of the Hero can't be resurrected in the body of a woman?
Especially in TriForce Heroes.... this is the one goddamn game where they could have gotten away with it easy since the plot is that the king calls for heroes and the three are just people who showed up to the call, and they even let you WEAR DRESSES in the game as their attempt to court female gamers....
I like that male characters can wear dresses, that's cool, but if you want to court girls, let them PLAY as a girl...
-
Also, if there are 3 zeldas and 3 Gannon.well, having a 4th link would feel bad.
-
There are still people hoping for that Female Link BS?
I know. So many far more interesting characters, and they go with possibly the most uninspired generic clone possible.

I am guessing that Groose and Linkelle will be the last two added.
My body is beyond ready.
-
I will accept NOTHING except Marin armed with Bow Wow, the flying rooster and the ghost.
-
Give me Din and Nayru in their Oracle forms and I can die happy.
-
If we are talking about best girl in the game, then Malon.
-
As much as a female Link is intriging, I dunno if I want three Links for this game…..
4 links as there is toon link. And honestly i think Linkelle won't actually be called Linkelle but be Aryll and be Link's Sister. A redesign of her that can get her fighting. I think it would be cool.

Jesus. Recently I've been playing Hyrule Warriors again (trying to unlock all the characters) and I've already got Ruto; but in order to get the water bomb to get Agatha I have to beat two Manhandalas in under 10 min with Darunia. One of my least played and slowest characters. It's taking so damn long to wait for the boss to "show" it's weakpoint on top of it taking forever to lower it's gauge that I haven't been getting anywhere fast.
Any tips on how to take down giant bosses quicker with Darunia? It'd be a big help and time saver (on top of stress saver).
Oh. And I haven't realized it until now, but the sheer incompetence of everyone on the battlefield except YOU is so blatant and present that it's infuriating.

Boomerang will be your best friend, but sometimes the hurtboxes on Manhandala can be kinda janky, where the hit is registered a split second before it starts to attack with its vines, rendering the weakness gauge visible to attack. Since it spends a few seconds revealing its vunerable core, don't start going into a combo immediately, otherwise you'll have less time to seriously hurt the thing (as Darunia will pause as the combo ends). Try the combo where he summons firey rock.

Count how many times Hylian Captain gets in danger. Don't make it a drinking game or you'll pass out on the second map.
On the plus side, it's fun being a god and wrecking every grunt. When I pick Zelda, it's like she's smiting every enemy that dares invade her kingdom, it's awesome.
-
I can understand the Hylian and Goron captains, but seriously? Ghirahim and Zant of all people?
-
It wouldn't be a Musou game if no one was waiting to be rescued.

Thanks, I'll try it out and tell you how it goes.
As for my favorite characters to play as?
Well, I like them all but I'll tell you what I consider to be my "favorites".
Fi: On top of me just loving the character and her animations (seriously, dancing around on the battlefield without so much as a single fuck given) I like the way she controls honestly, a thing most people don't seem to agree with me on. The way I see it, Fi is great at taking out groups of enemies in "clusters"; and you can maximize her potential by "corralling" them into one big area around you. Seriously, with some of her moves in the right situation I can take a keep within seconds. She can sometimes be a bit weak on 1V1. But I'm leveling her up to a point where thats not a HUGE hinderance.
Midna: Similar reasons as to Fi honestly. I love her character and she's downright adorable. She has the same "cluster" moveset as Fi, but with the added bonus of a few VERY good "direct attacks" in addition to her "darkness" element that makes 1V1 battles easier.
Lana: As an OC for the game (where quite honestly the story is a bit cut and paste on top of being rather silly) I don't really have the deepest connections with her as I do Fi and Midna. However her ascetic, "vibe", and room clearing versatile moveset make her enjoyable to play as (I personally favor her deku stick weapon); really though, whenever I play as her I feel like I'm playing as a hyperactive anime "idol" that just happened to walk into a Zelda game. That enough is reason to play as her.
Gannondorf: Why? One word: power. He's a dual wielding swordsman who relies on fast overwhelming attacks while mixing in a good deal of brawler combos and a decent bit of dark magic; but it all comes back to the same thing. Sheer. Destructive. Force. That blows bosses and regular enemies away the same. But that's exactly how it should feel to play as Gannondorf. And I love it.
Though I won't hesitate to say this. Though he's not my favorite, the game does have what I like to call a "Fuck you" character. "Fuck you" in the sense that you get so aggravated that you feel the need to bust out an absolutely OP fighter just to get by it. That character is Link.
Seriously, I didn't really notice this until adventure mode, but Link is almost too strong. Some challenges feel outright unfair, I'll blow through a boss in under a minute and I'll just be there asking myself "Was that it?".
