Dressing up like someone, counts as mimicking. Also the monkey yelling like "tetete" is probably a copy of Raizou. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the monkey that answered Luffy, imitating kanjuro and Kin'emon's voice. The connecting speech bubble is probably the monkey slipping.

i agree it's mimicking,but it's not really being good at it..anyone can put someone else's clothes or shout "tetete"..it would be different if the mink talk somewhat like nami…or acts like her...but actually aohige said she talks nothing like her,and for the acting,i haven't seen nami ride something or use a sword in the entire manga.

I meant that someone has a parmecia df or there's a curse on the island that turns people into animals and wipes some of there memory clean. So nami and the ninja get turned into minkemen but retain similar appearances/catchphrases hence those characters are actually nami and ryozou

yea I also got that vibe but I would be severely disappointed if that turned out to be the case, mainly because we've already had Body Swapping in Punk Hazard and people turning into Toys in Dressrossa. Too much is too much and I don't think Oda would go for that… I hope. I think they're either friends with Nami now and she lent them the clothes in their "resist the Kaidou men invasion" camp (it's been a couple of days, who knows) or the Swirlyhat crew got caught which again, would be disappointing imoooo

Isn't there some smudges over the monkey, as if it were blood? And doesn't that same kimono shape look like it isn't being worn by the monkey? I mean, to me it clearly isn't (or it just isn't a kimono at all and it's some weird tail). Adding to that, some pages ahead there's someone down there with Kanjuro and Kinemon which clearly protects Zou against invaders (I'm guessing it's Bariete who Carrot talks about), but at the same time they're both covering up something by telling the Strawhats to rush ahead… So what I'm saying is: could their Ninja friend be tied/stuck to the monkey's back? Stabbed and covered in blood like Robin saw?

Or could it be the other way around? The Monkey is the Ninja and Bariete is on his back, stabbed? The 2 samurais clearly didn't see the monkey falling but I'm assuming they saw him after they landed. If the monkey was the Ninja they would tell the Strawhats that for sure. Also, there's almost no chance a Ninja from that Samurai island is actually a monkey... right? It's way more likely the monkey is a Mink. And the tetetete came from the ninja, whilst the Monkey having relation to the tetete is just a coincidence. The only thing that doesn't fit is why are the 2 samurais hiding what they found down there?

Was I the only one catching this? Am I way off here?

Gotta say, I agree. Only for the fact that the falling monkey man looked nothing like she was describing.

Something along the lines of "A suicidal man taking his own life" would have equally morbid/funny, but it would have made a lot more sense.

I woud like to remember regarding the whole "Nami's clothes" thing, that when we saw the Swirly they were supposedly trying to help the Mink (especially that girl, even though she probably wasn't sure who they were)…so since 1 week has passed it's possible that Swirly (and eventually even the Hearts) an the Mink are in good terms and have a common enemy (Kaidous's crew), and that might explain why that Minkgirl was wearing Nami's clothes. Obviously it's still a theory, but it might be the case...

Response: Not necessarily. First of all, what kind of ninja can't disguise himself? Secondly, the ninja might be limited to self-disguise, which would be very restricted compared to Kinemon

-If anyone would see the ninja before he was disguised, it would be Usopp, with his finely tuned sight and his newly unlocked CoO.
Response: He has not yet mastered CoO; he only unlocked it. Secondly: To anyone who has ever played dungeons and dragons, you will know that sometimes the guy with the plus 15 spot rolls a natural 1, and fails, while the guy with a 0 spot bonus might roll a 17 and see whatever the first guy missed. It really comes down to circumstance.

About the cover, I'm pretty sure that's the bat in Luffy's left hand. Note the black line in it. Also I'm pretty sure 'Bariete' refers to the monkey, given that I know "ete" can in some way refer to them (remember Etemon, for example, and the Etetetetete bit when the monkey was falling)

It made me also wonder if, like Skypeia and Amazon Lily, Zou is isolated enough they don't even have a concept of certain things, like gold or family jewels. On this case it's humans, seeing them as lesser/hairless minks.

We have no idea how old the destruction is though. The smell of gunpowder franky refers to could be in different area. Usually when the word ruins is used it's talking about something from a long time ago, there is a huge city but it's completely empty if this was recent there's be bodies / injured people still around the area and so on. I think this might be another tie into an ancient city.

Just a thought: the Mink lady could be referring to Kaidou's minions as the "weak Minks". Maybe they can tell how odd and disfigured smile devil fruit users like Sheepshead is, and think they're Minks. Sanji and co. might as well be all goody-good with the Mink tribe, especially how Bepo is probably a Mink as well.

Another thing in common- they both beat a seated officer in one strike. (Law with Vergo and Zoro with Pica) hell. Both officers were equal in rank, comparable in strength, both covered in armament haki and both beaten by sword strikes.

It is not really that weird to think the mink would befriend the Swirly hats. As already mentioned, they were trying to help a mink girl last time we saw him. Also, Chopper could easily pass as a mink man.

As for the Nami debate, the transformation makes no sense. Nami using a sword, not remembering anything, speaking differently according to Aohige and becomming the boss of minkmen who hates human. That’s a bit to much when the solution of clothes syolen or given is simple (Razzor Lockham law)

That would make most sense in my opinion. Only thing that I URGE from incomming chapters is Oda showing Sanji as monster that he should be at this moment in story so I can calmly wait for awesome show off against some crazy Zoan-commander from Kaido pirates getting awesome vs against Sanji.

I think he has a copy-copy paramecia DF. He is able to transform in any animal he touches, like that monkey. He helps the minkmen girls because of the constant attacks from kaidou they had lately, in Exchange for the help samurais search on Zou.
