@ The Franky Tank
Good analysis, even when you put such a fight in the "merely good" region rather quickly :)
I wouldn`t agree with Doffy being set after the TS was a bad move, it sure degrades him a bit (but pre-TS Luffy wouldn´t have stand a chance), but it was now necessary to see what the TS brought for Luffy and before the fight, we as readers still thought "damn, how should he defeat this monster" and after Law failing that feeling was still present.
I would say it was a good placement for Doffy, like Croc in paradise, he was the first obstacle to overcome and in the new world it´s all about yonkou and admirals, so where to place a shichibukai to still make im a threat?^^ (iam curious when the last shichibukai will be introduced by Oda)
The flaw/misery Oda made here was to make us aware what comes next and with yonkous on the horizon we readers sure always looked in that direction.
Your complain about them not dukeing it out on equal grounds in a bloody fist to fist fight i can understand and i would have wished for this when they would have used their CoC for a final "who has more potential afterall"!
But other than that, most of my wishes for this fight were kind of granted and seeing that first Kong-Gun was just something i won´t forget.
