Genes, clones…Kishi played a lot of MGS recently? :ninja:
Bart Simpson Thread XI: The Movie - The Manga Adaption - The Animation
-
-
That's some OP technology there.
Maybe Sasuke secretly took a sample of Sakura's DNA and gave it to Karin so she can research for a cure for whatever disease she's having. Or something.
The way it's written, with everyone calling Sasuke a bastard and all, it's like a sitcom and in the end it will turn out Sasuke isn't such a dick.
-
I'm pretty sure this is just a misunderstanding. Kishi always tries to be a troll.
My bet would be on that genetic sample being from Sasuke, taken by Karin as a memento. -
@Daz:
Oh, right, forgot about that.
At any rate, though I'm not suprised that Kishimióto would stick #16 and Not!Sakura with Oro again, I'm still nonplussed as to what compelled them to rejoin him. I might've missed something, but I thought Sasuke specifically rescued them from Oro lairs, and they had no interest in reviving him? Am I remembering that wrong? Did they come around to actually liking Oro in the end?
But he's such a nice guy now!
-
Orochi my good man, lets forget all the dick stuff you made it and lets get along shall we?
@Master:Boruto the movie color page:
PALM EYES!
-
I do not understand anything…
So balt guy = Shin... Onion's = Shin as well?
Why is he attached to Itachi?
What about this Mini Juubi?
Where has he been all the years during the war and no one noticed him?
WHY FOR GOD'S SAKE Sasuke and Naruto let Orochimaru still use some evil experiments... He even has gotten a new body... And I think we all know how... Most likely not the good way?
Why is Sakura still talking with that faggot. Just beat him to death!
Not even talking about the Karin shit...
-
Why does they need Yamato again?
-
We should retitle this thread as Naruto: The Sitcom. XD
-
So I guess Orochimaru is like Mayuri now in that now we're supposed to like him and forget about all the murders and atrocities he committed.
Why not Hashirama was willing to do the same for Madara.
@Daz:
but I thought Sasuke specifically rescued them from Oro lairs**,** and they had no interest in reviving him? Am I remembering that wrong? Did they come around to actually liking Oro in the end?
I don't think any of them actually hated Orochimaru to start with.
-
I wonder what's the deal with researching about the reasoning for Kaguya's army.
So the antagonists just are some clone experiments not related to anything of that at all?
-
The failure of Sakura Haruno is complete.
You're not a failure for being cheated on.
It's probably just some huge mistake anyway. God knows it wouldn't be surprising if Karin had something with Sasuke's DNA in her drawer. Also, I don’t know if Kishi would go this route but Karin did let Sasuke suck the blood out of her. Maybe during the process there was exchange of DNA and Karin somehow preserved it. I don't know how Naruto science works. Freaking eyes can be implanted in arms for goodness sake.
-
Thinking about it, if Sasuke ended up being a proper dad, wouldn't we have been like "this doesn't feel like Sasuke"?
So whether he's the dad or not, Sasuke will always be an a-hole, and that, sadly to say, is who he is. Kishi dug that grave when Sasuke left Konoha.

Not his fault angst runs in the Uchiha blood.

I'm not gonna research this in depth, but at the very least Suigetsu was an imprisoned test subject who wanted to be free and/or kill Orochimaru.
Seems a weird character arc to start out being freed from Orochimarus clutches, and then ending up as his intern, but then again
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
WHY FOR GOD'S SAKE Sasuke and Naruto let Orochimaru still use some evil experiments… He even has gotten a new body... And I think we all know how... Most likely not the good way?
Exactly this.
"Hey Oro, you look so young!"
"Thats cuz I'm me!
"Oh, okay then"
" "I'm me" Meaning that I most likely did the thing where I invade some hapless dudes body to make it my own! Thats cool right, Hokage Naruto and previous Body Invasion Candidate Sasuke kun?"
"Sure" -
Not his fault angst runs in the Uchiha blood.
It's a shame. And somehow Kishi is able to keep having us expect Sasuke to be a better guy whenever he's in the scene, but he always ends up being a bastard. I mean look, when Salad lagged behind with Suigetsu, it wasn't her own father keeping an eye on her, but Naruto. Sasuke didn't even notice. Damn, what an awful character.
-
[hide][/hide]
Whoa! When did Sakura have such spiky teeth?Anyway, I still don't believe that Salad isn't Sakura's daughter, this is just a fake-out to add drama.
Also Salad is angry over nothing. Sakura still was the only parent who was actually there to raise her in the first place. -
Not entirely sure what to think of the chapter.
Salad's plot is actually mildly interesting, but as most people have pointed out there's a big chance Kishi will troll us later. At least I like how she and Suigetsu acted together, if Kishi put them in their own chapter it might actually be enjoyable. And the Orochimaru plot is as dead as it can be. The third must be cursing in his grave.
-
lol, Sakura is now the most pathetic female in the history of manga.
-
Why is Orochimaru still alive? Why didn't they just kill him again after the 10 Tails battle? What good could possibly come from keeping him around?
-
I LOVE the concept of Sasuke porking Karin, a woman he barely likes, and dumping their kid on Sakura, another woman he barely likes.
I hope Kishi isn't trolling, and Karin really is the mom. It would be so validating if, after all of those annoying years of Sakura pining for Sasuke like a lonely puppy, he played her like a fool.
-
It's probably just some huge mistake anyway. God knows it wouldn't be surprising if Karin had something with Sasuke's DNA in her drawer..
I don't know much about DNA testing so genuine question, wouldn't Suigetsu be able to tell he was comparing male and female DNA? Maternity and paternity tests are different.
Looking at the raw script online, the Japanese spoiler provider also believes that it was an umbilical cord in the box. Even if Karin is a stalker I don't think she'd be able to snag Sauce's.
-
So is there a reason why Sakura is suppose to want to do that surgery? Because I still don't get why they are even having that discussion…
I guess Oro got a free pass to feast on everyone that meet his path... Not really sure why. Maybe for bringing the Kages back at the war? Sakura really seems to be the only to not have done so well in life (and maybe Tenten).
-
The confusion is for us, but that thing is "Kishimoto Red". It's just that Kishi doesn't even try to shade red haired characters diferently from black haired ones.
The weird thing though is that Karin's red hair is colored black, but Kushina's red hair is shaded grey. And I think they're supposed to have the same shade of red hair because they're from the same clan? (I think that was implied). And, of course, Gaara's hair is just white.
Anyway, maybe Sasuke died his hair red at point.
-
I can't believe the anime went back to fillers after just 1 episode of canon
I would make jokes if that wasn't so damn sad
anyways, looks like next week they will wrap up the filler & go back to canon
-
I love how the Colorspread has NOTHING to do with what's going on in the actual story and only ONE of the three people shown on it, are actually in the chapter. Or relevant at all atm.

I wonder when Boruto will become relevant to his own manga. :ninja:

Lovely combination as always: Sasuke being an ass and DNA shenanigans.

If you help save the world you have reprieve to continue doing horrible stuff. Live free Orochi.

I believe that's Karin's umbilical cord. She kept her own. At least that's what I got from the mangastream translation.

I don't know why it would match with Sarada but I guess we'll find out soon enough. I'm still going with Karin's DNA got mixed with Sasuke's when she let him suck the blood out of her. Though it should be hardly detectable without very sensitive equipment and undetectable a few days after the blood transfusion. I'm not sure how DNA tests work either but what really matters is, does Kishi know how DNA tests work?
-
DNA tests are magical wizard spells that determine biological parenthood by tapping into the cosmic chi of the five mana pools.
That's probably not true, but I'm sure it's more thought than Kishi put into them.
-

It would match if she's Salad's biological mom

Kishi actually talked about DNA in an interview.
_Interviewer – It’s important to find one’s own path, eh? Currently, Naruto’s son Boruto is starting a main character serialisation called NARUTO – Spin-off “The 7th Hokage and the Month of the Red Flower ”, but what path will Boruto discover I wonder..?Kishimoto – I can’t say for the sake of spoilers, but the theme of “Naruto” has always been written as “Connection”, so this time, I’ve been thinking I want to write on elements such as the concrete DNA of those who are connected, and their feelings…those who are connected are the same. In contrast to a DNA connection, what has been inherited, and how? This type of story is what I shall I try my hand at writing to explore._
If he really is planning something special with it and had this chapter in mind for a while I would hope he did some actual research on DNA, but who knows
-
@Galaxy:

But it isn't.
The movie is called "Boruto", but the gaiden is "Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring" (= it's about Naruto and Sarada) -

….wait, this is Sasuke we're talking about. Well, it's up in the air then.
Kishi actually talked about DNA in an interview.
The thing is, talking about DNA doesn't mean you understand how a DNA test really works and what goes into getting correct results. It just shows you know DNA exists. Honestly, he may have done some research but so far all he has shown was a scientific looking machine beeping and booping when Suigetsu took some spit from Sarada and compared it with Karin's umbilical cord. I don't expect anything more than that from Kishi. This is a ninja manga about eyes. Hell, eye transplants are done in this manga by popping your eye out and plugging another one into the empty eye socket.
-
Now that the title has changed I just can't help myself:
-
@.access:
But it isn't.
The movie is called "Boruto", but the gaiden is "Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring" (= it's about Naruto and Sarada)Even so, he was portrayed as an "important" character during all the unveilings prior to its debut, and has had almost no screen time (same with the blue-haired kid too). It feels like Kishimoto originally planned on giving him a much bigger role, but changed his mind somewhere down the line, to be honest.
And isn't this supposed to lead into the movie where he'll be important anyways?
-

is Naruto.

Sexy jutsu gone wrong.
-
But come on, we all know the likelihood of Kishi going that route is very low.
I will quote myself on this:
He can do it. He can say the match is because of whatever Karin did to Sasuke's body many years ago, he can also say the match is because that thing Suigetsu took as a sample was actually part of Sasuke instead of Karin.
But he better not go that way.
Here is the thing, ever since he introduced the possibility of another biological mother for Sarada, he had the fans dwelling on those possibilities. Mainly Sakura and Karin fans were hoping their favorite would be Sarada's biological mother so they would be her real mother.
In the eyes of the fandom, suddenly being an adoptive mother became less (a lesser mother, a lesser wife, even a lesser woman). In this chapter he took that even further by making Shin and Orochimaru equaling children to mere gene preservation and Sakura questioning saying this is not where the true meaning of being a parent lies. By the end of the chapter, we had Sarada refusing to aknowledge Sakura as her mother because they are not related by blood.
Sarada's reaction is understandable since it was a shocking revelation to her and she is still a kid, but I hope Kishimoto knows what he is dealing with. I believe he is because this chapter seemed to be pointing to a very obvious conclusion to this Gaiden, when the meaning of a parent will be exposed, but still… he better not back up from it.
-
Sarada has all the right to be angry for being lied all this time, but to at least not want the safety of the person that took care of you ever since you were a baby just because is not blood related to you, really?
At this point I believe that even Araki treats dogs better in his manga( and that is saying something lol), than Kishi treats Sakura. -
-
@.access:
I will quote myself on this:
I can get behind the idea of what you're saying. Kishi can promote the reality that adoptive mothers are just as "moms" as a blood mother. You don't have to be birthed by a parent to be loved by a parent. Sarada will learn that lesson and the readers will understand because it makes sense. That's a good message.
But I still don't think Kishi will go that route. It really all depends on whether or not he wants people to dislike Sasuke even more.
-

The only way Sasuke can come out of this looking sympathetic is if he had next to no input on Sarada's creation. If Karin just took whatever generic material she needed and never told Sasuke until after Sarada was, very least, conceived.
-

By
allmost means Sasuke comes out of this looking like an asshole. It's just a matter of how much of an asshole. If Kishi goes the route you said then I wouldn't really blame Sasuke for being distant towards Sarada. That would be a very complicated relationship to say the least.
-
I think there is a simple way to not make Sasuke look even more like a jerk: say he wasn't together with Sakura back at the time he and Karin… made Sarada.
In The Last, the novels and Kiba's special chapter, many of the couples were addressed. We know Ino and Sai were already dating back in The Last, but as far as I know none of those depicted Sakura and Sasuke in a relationship. Kishimoto can easily say they just got together after Sarada was born or after Karin was pregnant.
Of course, he would still be a dick for never visiting his family, not once, but can't be reverted anymore.
-

It could turn out Salad's entire life is a Genjutsu.
Or a log.
-
Clearly the real answer is that the dna test just tested for Uzumaki DNA, and Sarada is actually Naruto and Sasuke's child (Either the result of transformation ninjutsu or maybe something they got Orichimaru's help with). This would obviously create a huge scandal if it was discovered, so the info was covered up.
-

So he'd go from making one character look sympathetic to making another look shameful and unsympathetic (incidentally the latter character being a female).
Or a log.
Looks like someone was in the treehouse with Yamato.
-
Do a water guy and a 10 year old child even know how to use a DNA testing machine properly anyway?
-
Suigetsu is a lab experiment, he probably was born in that thing.
-
@Purple:
Do a water guy and a 10 year old child even know how to use a DNA testing machine properly anyway?
You just swab a cheek, open the machine's hatch, throw the 2 DNA samples in there, and press the GREEN ON switch.
The machine goes beep bop boop ding
It prints your results out in an unnecessarily long sheet of paper with the results on them.
-
Yeah the simplicity of DNA testing is really impressive that you can do at home paternity tests bought from a regular drug store.
But this is getting stretched out and all probably for hardly any pay off. Sakura must be stronger than these kid clones? They shouldn't be enough to keep her captive.
