From now on I will imagine Monspiet having a french accent.
Like 4kids Mihawk
There is a small chance its Dolores, because
1. She has no lipstick
2. She looks younger than in the flashback
3. Never saw Dolores corpse.

The only problem i have is that Diana has been getting her ass kick from the evasion arc and can't seem to get compose right now it seems you is the weakest of all the sins and watching her getting her ass kick is annoying the hell out of me

I suppose Matrona kicking enough ass herself makes up for it? Somehow, maybe?
Seriously though- I can see where you're coming from. But at the same time I expect Diane to develop her skills and character throughout this arc and unlock that potential Matrona's been talking about.
You're a poet, my friend. Took the words out of my mouth.
It was highly suspicious that Matrona died so quickly after her introduction chapter, considering that we never got to see her Heavy Metal form in action. Nakaba wouldn't deny us something so sweet.
I'm ready for some more Mikasa Matrona goodness.

Also for those who didn't notice, the name "Derrierie" that Galan mentions, whom Monspiet supposedly pampers, is most likely the female commandment who habitually talks out of her ass.
The two are frequently pictured on-panel together, usually after Monspiet translates her confusing speech:
and she was last seen sleeping on Monspiet's lap right before he left to confront Diane:
So now we know the names of at least five of the Commandments.
What intrigues me most is: is the events why Meliodas is considered a traitor among the commandments related to the events why the Goddesses want to kill him? The guy is in a huge problem because the most powerful beings want to kill him badly!!!

Maybe the Goddesses have a black and white morality or that Meliodas is actually the Demon King's son. Absolute Justice, bitches.
so…she is called Derriere and always talk about taking it by the ass...I see...

A theory: With the importance romance has in the story, it seems pretty much to be a version of Romeo and Juliet: his abominable sin is to have loved someone of the rival race (goddes, human?) So both races or all races hate him.
(If it's true, sorry for the romance haters :ninja: )
Speaking as someone who dropped out of SDS at the fight with the Holy Knights, I was wondering if anyone would answer two questions for me.
At any rate, I don't mean to break up the current discussion, I was just curious.

- What is the general thrust of the story right now? I remember that before it was about preventing the return of demons, but it appears the demons are back now?
- Has there been any change to the Melodias/Elizabeth dynamic? I never liked Melodias much as a lead, but the perpetual groping with romantic undertones (Gropemance?) was always skeevy as heck to me. It gave me major Samurai Deeper Kyo vibes, and that Melodias has the appearance of a cheerful kid didn't exactly help matters.

1. Demons have been revived, and so far they're being wonderful villains. All seven sins have been revealed, and there is some internal conflict between them including romance problems. There are also power levels now.
2. Nothing I can remember, unfortunately.
@Daz:

The Demons are back, but right now Diana is getting her background explored. We also got some King development and the last Sin was revealed in a side-story.

Not really, but we do find out a bit more about what happened with his old girlfriend (her murderer).
@Daz:
- What is the general thrust of the story right now?
The Ten Commandments (basically the Espada of the Demon world, but with actual personalities) have been released from their 3000-year seal, and the Sins have realized (because DBZ power levels) that they are vastly outclassed, And must find Escanor (Pride, also Boss as fuck), have to train like crazy, and recruit as many powerful allies as they can if they hope to not get insta-slaughtered.
Meanwhile, Diane lost all of her memories (Gowther shenanigans) and the rest of the Sins are chasing after her to Megadowzer (Elbaf), the homeland of the Giants clan. Diane's past was revealed. It was decent. Matrona is Sex.
@Daz:
- Has there been any change to the Melodias/Elizabeth dynamic?
Not really, no. Except Elizabeth has realized she truly is in Love with Meliodas (suprise, suprise) and is also half-Godess or something.
Also Meliodas's past lover was murdered by the Demon currently possessing Dreyfuss, one of the Ten Commandments and another one of the 10 is Meliodas's little brother. A third commandment looks exactly like his old wanted poster.
Thanks guys

…OK, so its sorta training-arc-ish? I might check out the remainng two sins. Is there any sort of looming goal of the demons, or do they just have to be defeated because Demons Bad? What exactly do they want?

In addition to the above comments, let me put it in this way: contrary to the general expectative we had during the war against the HK, the Sins were defeated. A master mind behind the HK fooled the sins for good. So that was a surprise for most of the readers. (But everything points to the fact that there is another master mind behind the master mind we already know).

Nothing apart that most likely Mel has been groping all the ladies he has had in the past from 3000 years ago. But maybe you would like to know that Mel has a little and older bros, and both are series enough to not grope nobody… serious in deep. :getlost:
If translations can be trusted, it was also implied that Danafor!Elizabeth knew she'd respawn, suggesting the Mel/Liz relationship goes back 3000 years in one form or another.
@Daz:
…OK, so its sorta training-arc-ish? I might check out the remainng two sins.
There's no training arc going on at the moment, (more like they haven't begun training) they're just trying to get Diane & her memories back. In any case it's highly unlikely that the Commandments would just wait around for the Sins to power up before they go on their revenge-slaughter fest. It's not the cell games here, the sins are probably going to have to find an alternative method to gain strength quickly.
And yeah it's worth checking out the vampires of Edinburgh side story which focuses on the last member Escanor (Pride, who's Boss as fuck). The other sin, Merlin (Gluttony) hasn't really done much as of yet except be used for exposition dumps and fan service despite having a pretty overpowered ability (regrettably very much like Robin in that regard).
@Daz:

I'm sure the leadership of the Commandments has some higher agenda but for now their goal is to devour enough souls to replenish their depleted powers. Despite them running on empty gas tanks (apparently being trapped inside the seal drained like 90% of their abilities), A single commandment still had the strength to curb stomp the Sins a few chapters back. Their goal for the immediate future though seems to be to conquer Britannia & Kill all Humans/Faires/Giants.
@Daz:
Blaaaaargh it really is SDK all over again
Eh, at least the intrigue surrounding Meliodas is increasing. The Commandments referred to Meliodas as the "heretic traitor who once shook the demon world to it's core" and Meliodas's past lover Liz was murdered by the Demon currently possessing Dreyfuss, (one of the Ten Commandments) and another one of the 10 is Meliodas's little brother. A third commandment looks exactly like his old wanted poster in chapter 1.

It was implied by the other Sins that Elizabeth was the only girl that they saw Mel gropping in all their history together. Maybe Zeldris done the same thing with Gelda.
If translations can be trusted, it was also implied that Danafor!Elizabeth knew she'd respawn, suggesting the Mel/Liz relationship goes back 3000 years in one form or another.
That'd… that would actually be really sad. What if Meliodas was a demon and the original Liz a goddess and the two of them fell in love. Of course neither the demons nor goddesses would like that development, so they probably killed Liz and has been on a headhunt for Meliodas ever since. Liz then kept reviving in an endless cycle, while Meliodas was immortal, forcing him to meet her, get to know her, fall in love and then lose her over and over...
Though how that fits in with his sin of wrath, I have no idea. It would be interesting if Meliodas was actually guilty of something, to contrast every other sin who seem to be framed for something they were involved in.

Then it's implied that younger Mel groped in private and the old geezer we have now has learnt to grope in public. Damn lucky bastard! To have a girlfriend who let be gropped unshamely… ! Sigh...!

@Daz:
Is there any sort of looming goal of the demons, or do they just have to be defeated because Demons Bad? What exactly do they want?
The main plot is more interesting that that by far. The thing is that the good guys (goddesses) has the goal to kill the protagonist, and the bad guys (demons) too. And it seems the reason for those purposes is something the protagonist did in the past. So the bad vs good plot is not the case in this manga.
so…she is called Derriere and always talk about taking it by the ass...I see...
I'm officially nicknaming her Sweet Cheeks from this point forward.
Galan <3
Loved Merlin' statement, "I've reserved magic to use it on worth situations" Nobody gives a shit about Diane, they know is the weakest.
Not trying to go all fan boy but if you want to know the story you should just read it.
To sum up my feelings… it's an interesting story so far but it's definitely better to read it yourself than to have everyone spoil everything for you. I don't think a little groping should stop you from reading a manga and if it does then it's kind of your loss.

'Derriere' suits the french Cirano lover.
I haven't noticed the troll skull kneepad of Galan.

Talking about bad guys, there are some features that make the demons likable or interesting to be features of the bad guys:
1. They devours humans souls... well that not much. But...
1. Galant is so damn honest. He's the allmighty power of ... the true.
2. Zeldris is cute and was figthing for his lover, iirc the Escanor gaiden.
3. This is just a hunch but Zeldris somehow cares about Meliodas (and Estarrosa will be the bad bad bad guy of the movie)
3. The french lover, Monspiet, cares about Derriere
4. Derriere's name...
They are not the plain flat bad guys.

I just love how Galan just nonchately why she's alive as if she didn't bring him his burger or something. And look at her GTFO. I guess survival instinct survive no matter what.
Always impressive to see Gideon stopped like that.
So you can lie to Galan if you don't know that's the case? Interesting considering Gowther's power.
Isn't Matrona a little too dead to be alive in this chapter? Well, anyway I like the free figther style and she still rocks. She gets to restart just where we left her: saving Diane's ass .

Thanks, I try to be as concise as possible.

I wouldn't say she's my favorite but she certainly made a great impression on me. I also like her new fashion style. I just keeps imagining her making a traditional fighting pose in it, and it sure looks awesome in my head. She deserving her placing among kickass women of the manga world. Lets just hope it doesn't change.

Merlins is probably preparing some kind of haxx technique in case the Commandments show up, she probably needs some prep to do it, thats why she couldnt use it vs Galan at Camelot..
@Rogues':
After properly reading the chapter (last time I skimmed through it and ended up being mesmerized by Matrona) I can honestly say that I'm satisfied with Nakaba's handling of the Commandments so far. Galan in particular is taking the cake with his nonchalant attitude.
Slowly but surely every one of the current antagonists is getting their time and proper characterization, ultimately leading to opponents worthy of the series' final (assuming my memory serves me right here and the Commandments are supposed to be the last opponents of the story).
I just can't send a post without mentioning the giants in some way. Seeing how skilled Matrona is and how impressively she handled two of the supposedly strongest fellas in the series I can only dream about what Diane will be capable of at the end. Being praised by Matrona and hailed as one of the strongest Diane's skills can only go up from here on. Good stuff.

I don't mind the power levels in this series, since the author seems to work with the premise: "Oh, I can draw a great fighting scene now. Mmm, but that would be inconsistent with the power levels… Mmm ok, fuck the power levels, lets draw!" and next he has great fun with it, and we too. But Matrona must be no match to none of the commandments.
So my bet is that the commandments will clean the dust of their outfits and next will crush Matrona to pieces, at least that someone comes on time to stop them or rescue her.

! Not sure how I feel about those spoilers…I really wanted Matrona to whomp Galan some more before retreating. That's a little disappointing :/
! And the rest of the Sins are just giving up on going to MegaDozer and heading to Ishtar instead? What happened to the urgency of retrieving Diane's memories? Even if Meliodas & co. head to this Ishtar place, I would think that King of all people will still follow Diane & Matrona's trail back to MegaDozer. No way I see King giving up just like that, not after this page.
Chapter's out.

! I suppose Matrona's subsequent retreat makes sense given that she was facing two of the Commandments. One she probably would've been able to fight (according to Merlin's assessment here) but two- aggravated by the fact that Diane was not herself and of no real help (yet)- would've been a tad too much; even for that kickass giant.
! On the topic of the Commandments– I loved it how nonchalantly Galan destroyed all of the surrounding land in his bid to find Matrona (correctly guessing her location, mind you). And Monspiet shooting that purgatory arrow that devoured all in its path was nothing short of ridiculous; only trumped by Mama Hawk's reaction to it (those two pigs are way too mysterious if you ask me).
! Rogue, I suppose the Sins focusing on gearing up now that Diane's more or less safe does make sense. They do know that rushing in to face the opponent will only result in utter defeat. A tad heartless it may seem but it's the smarter option in the long run. That also gives Diane the chance to develop her skills a bit and maybe come out of the whole situation stronger than before.
What could potentially bother me is Meliodas getting a huge power-up simply by Merlin (or the druids for that matter) releasing some sort of seal. Since that would result in Meliodas taking the center stage in the fight against the Commandments; something I absolutely would detest seeing as it would waste a great opportunity for all of the Sins to prove their worth.
Jeez, after more than 100 chapters, we see that Stonehenge like place again.

The art was amazing (Galan is a medieval berserk EVA with an attitude), though I still cant figure if the plot is becoming a mess step by step or the author is very slowly building something big.
Nice chapter, but I always imagined Galan's armour to be bronze our _bronzeish,_guess that I'll have to get used to green.
See that pose? Monspiet is invoking Dracula real hard.

Matronna continue to be a total badass and shrug Galan attack as a minor thing. And Gideon seems to fit her so much and enhance her badasness.
Galan is as good as usual.
So Fire demon? If the author is into simalar power vs similar power, we got Escanor opponent.
Big mom eating the attack was straight up funny. I had the same reaction as king. I really wonder wonder what's up with the pigs. With us going to the druids I expect some answers or at least some solid hints.
I guess the beauty of lacking teamwork is not making a fuse about leaving an ally to his own devices. I wonder what the object is… Maybe some artifact from Liz able to keep him under control.
Matronna being as strong as one of the the commandment(even if low on fuel) really surprised me. I guess the undying warrior spirit of the giant slowed the decay of their strength. I wonder if she can make Diame as awesome as she is? But then again I do like her cute little girl side....

Sure it's a hint the fact that Merlin took that power right when Fraudrin delivered his tactical hit. At the beginning I was thinking it could be something that would let Fraudrin to control Mel somehow (something related to his dark side. But if that were true, it wouldn't have much sense to give it to Mel back right now, just when demons are in the neighbourhood, since he would run the same risk. So, what could it be? :wassat:

For a group like the sins I largely prefer a Diane to a Matronna. All sins have the sins work so well together both thanks to how most of the time they seem not to not care how serious the situation is, only care for their personal worries but are also a mix of weird personality. Even Escanor is given his whole wimpy and excessive pride which promise pure gold. Matron is just too badass and serious for a sin. A Galan would work better.
But as far as secondary characters goes her and Galan are just the best.

I fully expect Merlin to have took it simply because Meliodas guard was down rather than protect him
A nice story about a limbless woman is Oldman.
The art is so realistic it's disturbing.
I fully expect Merlin to have took it simply because Meliodas guard was down rather than protect him
This is also possible: Mel has some dark side he can't fully control and Fraudrin was somehow trying to take advantage of it. To prevent Fraudrin's complete success, Merlin took that power and put Mel to sleep. In such a dire situation, there's no other way out to give back to Mel his power, even with the risks that could imply.
The art is so realistic it's disturbing.
I like the funny faces, and chp 4 is amazing.
