@garonne:
But it does matter, and I'll show you why as it comes back to my original point.
Subset: a part of a larger group of related things
paramecias are a subset of devil fruits; they all have their related things which differ from a logia and zoan.
In the set of paramecia, we see a group of related paramecia devil fruits which can transform or turn into; that's a subset, the exact definition of a subset.
Why does it matter?
Our first showing of awakening(s) were that of zoans. They were said to have certain characteristics that are differently described and shown by doffy. So, from what's shown zoans and paramecia have different awakenings, which are subsets of devil fruits.
Among paramecias, there are powers that have similar power schemes: doffy, mr 3, Magellan etc. these individuals would then, if awakened, expected to have similar if not the same exact awakening. As such, individuals like Luffy, buffalo, baby 5, being similar and different from doffy and the others, has the possibility of a different type of awakening. and here lays my original point, the possibility that the subsets will have different awakenings.
To answer your previous post. Diamanté isnt of the same type as Luffy or doffy, in fact we've been shown another subset, as he and Gladius powers are similar, probably giolla(art lady) as well. Anything that doesn't fit in a subset doesn't have to, those are just miscellaneous. Speaking of, I know what the word means. I guess you missed my use of quotations as I wasn't truly implying they were miscellaneous. With users such as above that already affect the environment, their awakenings are probably different from Doffy as well.
If I missed anything, let me know.
Again, Oda does not care about those made-up subsets. The biggest proof of this is exactly the fact that Paramecias are just a big group.
Also, when you compare to Zoans, there's no evidence that Oda even thinks there is such a thing. The Ancient and Mythical subsets were introduced the moment a DF user of that category appeared. Paramecias, meanwhile, have been there since the start and nothing about Paramecia subsets was ever hinted or even spoken about. Even the concept of Awakening was introduced around 250 chapters ago.
And for all we know, Awakened Zoans can also affect the environment while Awakened Paramecias can also recover fast. In the end, we cannot discredit what both Crocodile and Doula Mongo said about Awakenings. If Doula says that Awakenings cause the environment to be affected, then we should believe it. He definitely did not single out an ability or subset, but rather spoke in a general way.
I understand that Paramecia DFs are all different and stuff, and that some are about creating and controlling while others are about transforming, but the problem is that none of that seems to mean anything going by how Oda treats all of that. That's why I said it doesn't matter.
And really it's not hard to think of potential for Awakenings that "transformation" DF users could have that could easily follow the Ito Ito no Mi's logic. Baby 5 would be able to make weapons pop out of walls, floor or any other surface around around her, Buffalo could make objects besides him spin or create fans and windmills on the surrounding environment, Luffy could make other objects stretch at will… do you have any other ideas of what their Awakenings could be?

@RobZilla:
Ah, but then we have some other really odd paramecia type fruits that I really can't think of how they'd apply to that concept.
For example, Brook's Yomi Yomi no Mi.
How exactly is that kind of ability used by environment, as such?
Brook uses his ability to manipulate his own soul, so the Ito Ito logic would be manipulation of other souls around him.
Theoretically, he could allow other corpses to be revived (Return of Zombie Night!) or even freeze the whole area around him.
