Again Kon just randomly appears. (man, I actually like the guy…)
Anyways, more Aizen stuff, but now Team Ichigo has to regroup. Grimmjow has finally made his reappearance, there's that. Could be a couple of entertaining chapters comin' up.

How many chapters has it been since we saw Grimmjow's foot? That was like a year ago wasn't it? More maybe? How many more till we see the Fullbringers then? Tsukishima alone should be able to take care of this….
If all else fails, at least I can be entertained by Grimmjow wanting to kill everyone from here on.
I don't know, he looks pretty bored to me.
I don't know, he looks pretty bored to me.
Cause he's been stuck in Hueco Mundo with nobody to kill, obviously :ninja:
Kubo's art style is so predictable that I totally got right Grimmjow's body posture and face expression. I know he would be exactly like that when he reappeared.
Anyways, great OP and Naruto chapters, Bleach really felt terrible by comparison, Grimmjow ended up saving an otherwise forgetable chapter. I love this guy and so happy Kubo didn't gave him long hair after the time-skip.
10/10 for yoruichis booty shot, other than that nothing happened this week. Oh wait, there was this one guy at the end…what was his name again? Grimbeard?
It always amazes me when I go to read a bleach chapter and am not completely indifferent when I get to the end.
About time Grimmjow showed up, I expect to be RG level with his 2da/Tercera Etapa or whatever Powerup he has gotten.
Lots of shit happened in this week guys! Aizen commenting the friendly sport game, Kon and Grim returns, and by far the most important page is where the beautiful ass comes to greet us in a hilarious manner.
Ixi is an unforgetable fellow, indeed.
I love how kubo is trying to bring back all the characters people actually liked because he's running out of ideas. It's cute.
I have no clue what happened in that flashback sequence.
Oh, yeah, Grimmjow's back. Yay, I guess.
I'm finding it more hilarious than I probably should that Orihime is (1) being useful and (2) getting absolutely zero credit for doing so.
I guess the humor was okay, and nothing to terrible.
Only thing I have to wonder is if Grimmjow can bring the portal thing to where Ichigo and company were at, what stopped Aizen from just teleporting up to the Soul King palace?
After the Aizen scene, you can see GJJJ's foot back in HM climbing some stairs and opening the Garganta. In the next panel we see a pin with the Garganta pattern drawn on it carved in the ground of RR.
I believe this pin is what allowed Grimmjow to open a Garganta to the RR and was probably thrown by Yoruichi. If she left one back on the palace before she was thrown away, GJJJ could take them there.
I think this could explain how he managed to get there and why other characters couldn't do the same.
I have no clue what happened in that flashback sequence.
me neither, maybe better quality scans/translation would help, although i prefer not to read bleach chapters twice

You're too mean, it's not like he came out of nowhere. His appearance was set up from the start of this arc.

But isn't he also trying to bring back the Fullbringers?
But isn't he also trying to bring back the Fullbringers?
You laugh now, but wait until he does. Then it'll be hilarious.
What's actually sad about this whole chapter is that I was faintly reminded of when I used to enjoy bleach way back in the beginning, but then I came too and realized that the characters popping up out of nowhere was just a ploy to get that exact reaction. You almost had me kubo. Almost.
Orohime should reject an open space and create a void and have everything and everyone get sucked into that void and kill everyone.
Also even though nothing happened, after last chapter where the highlight of the chapter was Aizen's durable chair… Kon made me laugh.
So the humor came back. Good.
There was also an incredibly asinine, stupidly smug 6 pages long back and forth between Aizen and Eye-Patch Commander that added nothing to the last 3 or 4 incredibly asinine, stupidly smug back-and-forths these two already had.
I guess, I still haven't read the thread, that there's praise for Kon and Grimmjow's comebacks. Well, they honestly felt to me like "it's checking time! Funny sidekick I had forgotten for aeons? Check! Badass baddie I foreshadowed 5 years ago? Check! Suddenly appears out of nowhere!". Wathever, at least Kubo remembered something, it did nothing to me.
Can't speak for everyone, but Grimmjow was/is one of my favorite of the Espada. Yes, I suppose he is the Vegeta of Bleach, that is, the gruff dick rival that becomes obsessed with defeating the main character, but eventually mellows out and becomes an ally.
Third fight with Ichigo and his released form were both underwhelming, but overall he's up there with Neliel, Stark, and Szayel for me.

Sans the screentime and gradual progression of becoming an ally.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, as they say.
But yeah, good point.
I completely forgot Kon existed…

I remember a very funny thing Bleach Asylum made about this statement, but I can't find it anywhere now.
Just realized GJJJ got two belts. House of Square Enix.
One belt for each release. :ninja:
He should really be something now if he's to have any significance in the following fights.
Just read the chapter.
That was the most half-hearted revelation of hyped character I have ever seen.
I didn't knew Grimjaw was still hyped at this point.
To you, maybe not, but to those poor Bleach fans that still actually like the series, and aren't reading it ironically, he sure was.
Anyone else do a duble-take, followed by a snort of derision, at the realization that Grimmjows reveal was in fact a spread?
Kouch summed up my overall feelings on the chapter. Half an chapter of filler dialogue and recaps, until we get out-of-nowhere fanservice, and kinda off comic relief. I appreciate Ichigo changing his facial expression, but the whole thing just felt weirdly put together; so Kon pretty randomly just appears out of nowhere (did anyone remember he was still around? Were we even told he was in Ichigos pocket before this? I guess the randomness is the joke?), and Ichigo gets knocked out cold by…bumping his head on Orihime...and then he freaks out at Kon because...despite having godlike strength that completely eclipses his companions, he's really concious about not looking weak before them?
But I guess we at least can check off one "surprise appearance" from the arc checklist.
Now we just need the Fullbringers.
And Isshin.
And Ryuuken.
And maybe Nell and Uraharas posse.
And for the rest of Soul society to catch up.
And to see a shitload of bankais.
Sigh, my estimate of the series ending in 76 chapters seems positively restrictive now.
Yeah, I bet half of those things you mention Daz won't even be covered in those 76 chapters. xD sigh
did we really just get a camel toe -.-

And those are just the appearances! Don't forget the obvious "twists," like Aizen betraying everyone or Ishida's face-heel-face turn.
Also, I totally blanked on where Kenpachi is right now. Doing nothing somewhere I assume, just like everyone else.
Being a fan of Arrancar, a big fan of Shawlong (GJJJ's right hand man) and a fan of Grimmjow himself, I have to say his comeback was one of the things I was most excited about in this arc.
Every time an Arrancar comes back I feel the hype. When the Tres Bestia appeared? HYPE (I love those girls). When an unknown person that everyone knew to be Grimmjow killed Quilge? HYPE! When Kubo teased us showing but not showing Grimmjow with Urahara and the others? Kinda hype. When the zombiecars (mainly Charlotte) appeared? SO. MUCH. HYPE!!!
But as things go, Bleach gets more and more… bleach. Kubo teased us so much with Grimmjow, build up the tension for so long that it eventually lost its effect.
Grimmjow's comeback could be the scene that would make me love this arc again. But I read this chapter and felt "Hey, Grimmjow! About time... but, man, so Sarada is Karin's daughter???"
Kubo wants to write till chapter 800, doesn't he? :/

Some of those might be with Grimmjow. If not now, when?
My only wish is to see Tessai use some forbidden Kido.
I am really happy to see Grimmjow.
I hope that after so many short fights that we had we are getting into part where most of main cast will get proper, fully drawn out fights.
Last one I remember as such was Zaraki vs Unohana(Zarakis next fight didnt felt even close to it, I seen it as Kenpachi hype fight and nothing more).
Quincy like Bazz B, Hollow like Grimmjow etc should in my opinion get some really big show off fights that are properly drawn out.
Most of us agree that Bleach is meh in many departments but its so bad that it is quite enjoyable to check it out and discuss on Kubos choices. Its biggest quilty pleasure.
I gotten to read some of quincy war - first part - on paper and I must say that it feels far better and art is amazing at times. Same as with One Piece or many other mangas - scans just dont do justice to source material.
Usually I like the character achetype he belongs to, but Grimmjaw himself always bored me. So his reappearance is just another nothing this arc has been made of so far.
On the other hand, I am more than willing to just listen to Aizen passively aggressively trashtalk for pages upon pages.
A whole world reflects in his lonely eye.
Kubo can compress more emotion into Aizens bondage eyepatch than the entire remaining manga industry combined

It works just like if you try and combine a lot of colors: it just turns into an unappetizing brownish-black muck.
I haven't commented on this chapter yet because I can't find anything to say. I'm coming up blank, empty, white space, zilch, zero, nothing!
Why Bleach, why?

That is Kubo?
He looks weird without his glasses.
I wonder if Aizen can fly in his chair. I don't know if I want to see him fly on his own, or if I want to see him ask smug head captain for help.

And older… that pic of him with that famous sunglasses feels like it was taken ages ago
These pics must have been taken while he was working on Ichibei vs Bach. :ninja:
