A great chapter for Easter. :)
Gowther is pretty weird, but I like that one of the Sins is like that.
Seven Deadly Sins

This manga is awesome.
-
The little thunder thingy Gowther planted on Galan, does it have any specific attributes other than tracking the Commandment?
It can read memories and minds and alter they.
This manga is awesome.

Chapter 59 : Gowther's "Introduction" chapter, the title was "Unpredictable man enters the stage".
and now, this chapter title :
"Impossible to predict"NAKABAAAAA

Wow! This episode was brutal in so many senses.
Gowther creepy nakedness only makes it more over the top.
-
I can't enjoy fake deaths anymore. Damn you Kishi.
Also why hide Gowther's groin ? He's just a doll without genitals.
-
Gowther's so fucking theatrical :lmao
Excellent chapter. Btw, if you hadn't noticed, a new gaiden is coming! Will probably focus on Gowther, given all that focus has received recently.
-
Gowther either really enjoys looking like the evil guy or he misinterprets his laugh as seeming triumphant.
He´s so cute -
Wow! … This manga is simply great!. Even in the lines: "time is a cruel thing indeed"!
-
The arrow in Galan's neck getting a third of a page to itself is clearly telling us something, but man, what I really want now is for Arthur and Elizabeth to go on a sidequest, as part of Arthur's journey to become the legend he is destined to be.
-
The arrow in Galan's neck getting a third of a page to itself is clearly telling us something…
Gowther's shot, so…
-
One thing i want to note that i haven't seen mention here or on MH, is that Gowther was the first to have an encounter with one of the ten commandments in the form of drafus, i don't know if this will play any part in the story but he might learn something or was planning something from his last defeat.
-
I do love Gowther but I certainly don't like maniacally laughing Gowther. I like the struggling with human emotion and socially awkward one. So I found is appearance in the chapter quite meh and as random as it could be.
I think it's interesting to notice that the commandments bestow on the demon guards works regardless of their power being fully drain.
I really enjoyed Galan massacre. Shame on those who didn't trust him. Seeing Merlin get played was quite enjoyable. Although I fear we are going to learn Merlin was the one to free Gowther and therefore save the situation.
Meliodas really has problem controlling his power, which is strange considering he is a demon. I will continue with him and his brother using human bodies for some reason. He became quite weak indeed but with this PL we know he is around the ultimate form of king.
This page is the only one I expect to have been cause by Gowther. I don't mind his power working on everyone. Like I said if it's attack directly your mind I don't see why it should matter other from your ability to your trauma in 5 minutes. I still hated his appearance. What's with the laugh and the maniac expression. I like an awkward and "involuntarily" goofy gowther not a some laughing maniac.

Could someone explain to me how "overpower" works?
-
Gowther's not human so most of the time he acts like there are no fucks to be given away around him anymore. Nakaba keeps mantaining his villain's behavior so I prefer to see him as the double Sin, as it isn't easy to say what the hell he's thinking about.
Even with more than the double of power he had before Meliodas wasn't able to do nothing effective, damn.
For an "incredible" caracther praised before Merlin was so arrogant to think that in the middle of the battle she could strike a deal with the Devil of Truth.
-
For most of the chapter I was busy being mesmerized by Galan. The part with Merlin was especially entertaining. "I have to buy us some time and distract him.." and all of a sudden she turns into stone, played by Galan in every sense of the word. Wonderful.
The ending on the other hand felt a bit weird. I knew that when Galan 'killed' the Sins that it wouldn't be permanent. And Gowther emerging out of nowhere and laughing maniacally confirmed that something was off about those supposed "deaths". The little thunder thingy Gowther planted on Galan, does it have any specific attributes other than tracking the Commandment? Or could it be that it made Galan only think he killed the Sins whereas in reality he just beat them up real good? Something like that perhaps?
Way I figure, everything after the initial continuation from last week, was imagined, or "tweaked" in Galan's mind quite a bit.
-
Well, this was one strange chapter. Galan continues to be amazing.
I'm a little on the edge about Gowthers appearance, he's acting a bit too evil. Maybe it's the smile, Gowther shouldn't have an expression like that. However there's a high chance there's a reason for all of that, so I'll wait a few chapters before passing judgement on our favorite doll. I do like him.
My bet is that Gowther altered the memories of Galan (altering Elizabeth, Arthur and Hawk should be impossible since they're in those cubes though, so something must've happened). Still, I wouldn't have minded a side story with the three of them finding some way to go back in time, it'd be the most adorable side quest. And a nice break from the sin's powers - I love seeing them fighting, but having three characters of no real power trying to outwit the demons would be a fun scenario. Maybe Hawk would stop blathering about Power levels then.
Meliodas having his first real loss was a relief though. I'm genuinely curious how they will defeat the demons (without some bullshit outta-nowhere power-up).
-
Meliodas really has problem controlling his power, which is strange considering he is a demon.
When the 10 commandments woke they said that in 3000 years they would have died three times already and since Meliodas probably has been around all that time that could mean he is not a regular demon like the others. Maybe he also has blood from the goddess clan.

He is the copy of his big bro. Plus Freudian has also been around for that time. He most likely hibernated for some time.

He also lost to Helbram if I remember.

laughing maniacally
maniacally laughing
laughing maniac.
Mania implies emotions. Gowther's sentences end with dots and his speach balloons are of rectangular form which means he is his usual mad fucking calm puppet self. He is laughing only because it is appropriate to laugh after pulling a prank or whatever he has read in his books.
Could someone explain to me how "overpower" works?
Literally. Slader projects his killing intent onto the opponent, freezing them in place with fear.

Somehow I feel the prevention is different from her usual self, but maybe it's just me.

Thanks. I never managed to understand. I suppose it's the kind of thing that can't hope to hope if the opponent is worse than you or the difference in level is to big.

I am starting to find Arthur annoying as hell.
-
I wonder what happens to Ban when he try to steal from the steal commandment.
I also hope perfect don't get destroyed by brute force to show how overwhelming whoever is.

16 chars of any particular reasons ?

-
Galan survived the first encounter despite everything in him being a deathflag and my boy Gowther is back, couldn't be happier with this chapter.
-
He is always whining.
Most of the time he seems like a to cheerful youngster to me. I can only remember him whining when he lost to Hendrik and now that he has lost Merlin. I supposed I don't mind him that much(hardly notice him most of the time). I wonder if we'll ever find ou where his sword came from.
-
I am starting to find Arthur annoying as hell.
He's not always whining, but I find him a bit annoying too (not as hell ). He's like the perfect dauphin waiting to be crowned. I hope to see him being a bit nasty,… or groping some lady. :ninja:
-
Got worried Galan would go down to Meliodas's power up, but then he turned the tables and basically commited a TPK. What a champ.
So now Arthur and Elizabeth go on a quest to resurrect the fallen Sins while the four of them get training in the afterlife by a member of the Goddess Clan, right? But seriously, I'm curious to see what long-term plan the Commandments have that will allow our heroes to train and find the power to not get killed horribly.
-
I'm assuming Gowther came back online when Merlin was turned to stone (her cancel on him dissipating). That'd make what Galan saw after that point different from what happened. I'm guessing Gowther made only slight changes, so Hawk and Elizabeth and Arthur couldn't tell that Galan just barely missed them?
Yet Merlin's seal(?) on Meliodas is still on effect?

I don't remember Melio being under a spell. Could you say what you are referring to, please?

I don't mind him becoming nasty(as long as it don't erase his personality) but Meliodas provide enough groping for five(literally).

While I did expect it to be a little higher PL wise, I did expect him to loose badly even in this form. He needs the sins to catch up a little before putting the distance again or at te very least get some form of struggle to control his power.

With Elizabeth there I don't see them dying so soon and I just can't picture Merlin dying that soon. She just hasn't been around long enough to end up in the afterword. For in-universe purpose I'll go with Merlin is needed to make perfect cube go away.

That was a Dragon Ball Z joke. Between Elizabeth and Gowther there's no way anyone important actually died here.

I guess brennen points to that thing that belongs to Mel but Merlin has and she hasn't giving him back yet. Doesn't it return to Mel due to some kind of spell that could have be broken because of Merlin turned to stone?
I'm curious about reading something that explain why Gowther didn't take more advantage of his illusion. I mean, if he landed the spell, why did he let Galan to go away? Why not to eliminated him?

I thought he was referring to something done directly to Melio.
Because he has nothing to take him away in the first place. It would be taking a useless risk when it is better to regroup for now(considering the state three of the sins are).
-
if Merlin was dead, the cubes would have dispelled isn't that what Melodias hinted ?
-

Should have been comment by the commandment. I would guess on Galan knowing that much on the secret demon technique .
-

Yes, but maybe Gowther came back to his human form thanks to the fact that when Merlin was turned into stone, her spell could have been canceled. So the chapter hints that Merlin's spells or could have been broken (Gowther) or survived the event (the cubes). Anyway, nobody doubts she's alive; only Galan.

Meliodas provide enough groping for five(literally).
I really don't want to start a serious discussion, but since this is the only thing about this manga that I really dislike, I will point it out anyways:
! I wonder if many people gets uneasy or I am the only one who finds disgusting the notion that it's funny to show a guy (not even a villain, but the MC) grabbing a girl's boobs against her will, forcing his way under her skirt while she begs for him to stop and everything else. The fact that it actually softens Elizabeth and she ends up falling in love with the said guy (granted for other reasons, but still) just makes everything worse.
I can take it with Yusuke and Keiko in YYH because they were friends since childhood and all that came naturally as an expression of their friendship, but with Meliodas and Elizabeth it starts as "ok, stranger, I will help you, but you will have to stay quiet any time I want to abuse you".
! I don't know, I think I could like Meliodas otherwise, but this thing REALLY upsets me. -

! I don't know, I think I could really like Meliodas otherwise, but this thing REALLY upsets me.I really dislike it when I find mangas that portraits abuse or child abuse as something natural. For instance I really don't like Elaine's child body and what that may suggest. In the case of Elizabeth, I think it's ok and funny; she's an adult and she likes the groping, so I don't have problems with that.
-
I dislike it heavily if the unwanted or unwarranted attention is shown to be romantic or the sign of true love or some such bull****. but if it's played for laughs and clearly not to be taken seriously I don't really care. I can see where you are coming from but I allow much more in comedy and jokes than some other people. And honestly if it were just a bit more grounded in reality, like in the real world and the actions of melodias were more subtle than this blatant groping and skirt flipping he does then i would also be much more uncomfortable.
And really as you can see from my profile picture and signature I have crafted my profile around such perverts as Jiraiya and Melodias because I do find them funny in their mangas.
-
I grew watching Ranma 1/2 so I think of Meliodas like a bad attempt of Happosai (since it lacks the fun touch of Happo's in the end it looks simply like sexual harassment and something that the series should be better without)
I find more disturbing Ban's relation with Elaine or that King felt in love with Diane when she was mentally a 7 year old.
-
nah, the dirty old man cliche is also pretty annoying. Not even because of the disturbing core idea (which is worth discussing of course, but don't want to get into all that) but simply because it's so overdone. Kinda like how the 80s and 90s it was almost obligatory to do that whole British guard gag. If you see this in like a post 2000 movie you immediately roll your eyes unless there's some sort of interesting twist to the formula. That being said, pervy Meliodas is just as shitty, unfunny, dull and creepy as Happosai or Muten Roshi were, it's just that those guys occasionally failed, so there is some small amount of humor in that. I'd lie if I said that the whole Lunch thing didn't turn out amusing, but eventually that joke just needs to finally die.
-
Mel has it all: the power of a youngster and the dirty and pervy instinct of an old man. Good mixture, isn't it? The result is that Elizabeth is pretty happy. :ninja: … Sorry Happo!
-
[h=1]I don't care about that, as a matter of fact i find it funny.[/h]
-
Perverted Meliodas was the sole reason I didn't read past the first chapter the first time I tried the manga. Especially the part where he smelled her lady parts was just gross. I guess I've gotten used to it since then, and seeing Elizabeth now being used to it as well does soften it a little. Part of me doesn't mind it, part of me hates it, but I guess both parts agree that I shouldn't put too much focus on it or i'll just ruin the story for myself. Still, the initial part where it's the first thing Mel does to Elizabeth, and it seemingly triggering her affection - no. Elaine/Ban is also a bit creepy, and I guess King/Diane is similar.
Still, it's interesting, for all the things I dislike with the groping, it still doesn't anger or bother me as much as say, Tashigi's treatment in Punk Hazard or Robin's sidelining.
-
I myself don’t care and it makes some funny gags.
-
Elizabeth doesn't seem to mind. If she enjoys it, so should we :ninja:.
-
It cause a certain uneasiness in me but usually I forget it 3 page later. But it can be funny at times. Still creepy tho.
-
Demons resurrected.
Sins are defeated.
Humans are doomed.
Guess that means there's only one thing to do!
-
What lie told Merlin? Anyway, awesome! :3
Gowther is my fav char. Galan and Ban behind him.
-
@Shobu:
What lie told Merlin?
that she would inform him on everything he needs if he spared them
