RE: The Promised Neverland
There's some of that, but I think that if the reception was just meh, they would've waited longer and see how people responded to Love Rush and Red Sprite.
I actually asked them about this subject at their panel at Otakon a little over 2 weeks ago. The question was something like 'with Nisekoi and Bleach ending, thus opening up two spaces, are we by default getting two of the three new series this round for our regular lineup?'. I didn't get a straight answer from them though; they kinda just left it entirely open and wanted people to fill in the surveys.

Nice to see that the reception on the English side was good enough to get it added to our WSJ right away.

RE: Bleach Discussion █: Soul Society, but not!
I'd agree with that assessment. I've given up on really caring about most of the characters introduced in World Trigger, and I just regard the lot of them as being there to fulfill specific plot functions. Then I end just really following the ones who keep showing up the most often. The main difference from Bleach here, to me at least, is that Kubo creates characters out of writer's block, while the setting/plot of World Trigger calls for lots of characters to fill out the org and in general make the whole scenario more plausible.
"I've got nothing, so might as well make more dudes" vs "This situation calls for random filler characters-of-the-week/match as this org supposedly has a lot of members", basically.Along those lines, I actually wouldn't have held it against Kubo if he channeled his tendency to design a bajillion characters towards filling out the ranks of the Gotei 13. I'd have been like "Ok, what the Shinigami are responsible for realistically requires a ton of people, so it is sensible for there to be a lot of random filler designs." But nah, Kubo didn't go in that direction.

World Trigger's appeal is tactical combat. If you want your battle series to emphasize small squad tactics a lot, read it. Otherwise, pass. I personally like it a lot, especially since it's basically the opposite of Bleach's combat.

I'm talking about this.
http://mangastream.com/r/bleach/686/3613/14Oh. That strikes me more as more teasing about one side of the relationship than referencing actual past events.

RE: The "Shueisha" Thread
Eh, I've no problem with Horikoshi doing that. The dude just seems like he loves Jump growing up.
Gotta love how old man Akimoto can address Kubo with -kun. Surprised on Isobe's author going with -san instead of -sensei; how old is he?

About that Free Pass Karin talked about, was that some kind of mention of an incest?
Wouldn't that be referring to that special pass thing that the humans who were left behind got from one of the captains as a one time ticket to the afterlife? Which then joined the list of things that were never brought up again.

Bleach actually got up to 701 chapters, after including those… 15? negative number chapters.

RE: Mob Psycho Universe - Thread Title Season 2
The anime's been a very enjoyable adaptation. But I mainly want to note that All Off (the band who performs the ED theme, Refrain Boy) was really fun to see live yesterday. And Refrain Boy's full PV has been uploaded (
). Also, I agree with so-hey (the vocalist) on best character in this series; Reigen.
