Okay, this is disturbing.
Except for the use of semicolons over commas, it's basically a perfect imitation.

Great work Robzilla on page 1
I really enjoy to read all statistics stuff, always interesting to read.
BTW i don't have so many post on this forum, i was in a OP dedicated french forum years ago… But OP knowledge and understanding about Oda's inspiration were limited compared to some members here.
Now i discuss about One Piece chapter on AP and on another forum (french), but a general one not focus exclusively on OP, with a "manga" section.

lol. Anyway, it was 597.
The first time I ever saw One Piece was the 4kids version at some point on a Saturday when I was flipping through channels. It was the episode during Sanji's flashback where he was stranded on the deserted island with Zeff. I only saw a snippet of it and can't recall how terribly 4Kids must have butchered that episode. I didn't realize until later (when I was watching the anime online) that the show I saw that day was One Piece.
After I caught up with the anime I immediately jumped over to the manga, caught up in it and then read the series from the start. The just looked back and I first caught up at 461, right at the heart of Thriller Bark.

Gee, I couldn't see the X under the bandage! Better luck next time Gyahahaha!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I love it, Rami.

I first saw it when you were quoting it and actually thought that I had written it lol.

Hey all, i think this is my first post on the forums, i've been a OP fan for quite some time. I joined the forums in 2006 but have started with OP a bit before that i think. I don't exactly remember the chapter/anime episode but at one point i started watching the subbed anime episodes from kaizoku fansubs (god bless them if they are still there), i watched the fansubs up until the end of alabasta i think, then tired of waiting for the episodes and started reading the manga translations and some time after i read everything that was translated up to that point, some time after that i joined the forums for my regular fix of spoilers :D
So i guess somewhere between 2004-2006 was when i started (to whatever chapter/episode range that matches) :D
Well that's anywhere from Chapter 305 (Beginning of the Davy Back Fight Arc) and Chapter 439 (End of the Post-Enies Lobby Arc).
So basically somewhere inside the Water 7 saga.

Cool, that's Chapter 461, "Ghost Buster", released on the 2nd of July, 2007.
Since you didn't read constantly since the start of the series, but did after rediscovering the series later on, I'd be inclined to select the later chapter.
So how close to Ace's death are we talking? (Chapter 574)
Like within a few chapters, I'd say right before he got freed.
been watching since 2002, right when the first episode got shown here in my country. started reading the manga soon after, and never got off the One Piece train since. 12 years and counting! choo choo

Well Ace is freed at the end of Chapter 571, so the one directly before that?

Cool, so you'd have caught up with the manga somewhere around the start of Skypiea probably?
568 just sounds right to me

Cool, that's Chapter 568, "Have It Your Way!", released on the 21st of December, 2009.
Yohohoho! I might be the only one to do this, I actually search the duration of other member from time to time in the first post. If it doesn't bother you Rob, could you make a second list in alphabetical order ?
Man, I haven't got an idea about the specific chapter.
I know for sure it was before the "Where are the Straw Hats?" cover arcs
and I think it was after Amazon Lily.
So, throwing a dart at the chapters between that, put me down for 524.
No One Can Stop It Now 7/6/09
Now that volume 75 came out in Japan. I did the math, if you say there has been 4 volumes every year in japan (which is roughly accurate) Since Luffy invaded Enies Lobby it's been 9 years. Almost a full decade since that event. So much has happened since, but also doesn't feel that long ago. One Piece is Awesome!

I had actually considered putting the first list in alphabetical order about a week ago but couldn't muster up the energy to go through with it.
For you though, Rami, I suppose I can will myself to do it.
Edit : Added the list in alphabetical order, and for the hell of it, by order of chapter number as well…with rankings:ninja:

Nice guesswork to drill down to one chapter, appreciated.
So that's Chapter 524, "No One Can Stop This Now", released on the 1st of December, 2008.
Thank you Rob! I'm sure it will come in handy.
I first started reading One Piece in 2006. I was easily hooked by the time they arrived at Syrup Village. I got up to the end of volume 13, because at the time I was only keeping up with the American releases and had no idea the series was a lot farther. I started watching the anime and quickly got through most of Alabasta. Because of One Piece's situation in America at the time, the manga and anime were on the Alabsta for years along with the games and merchandise.
I loved the series to death, but being in Alabasta for so long really burnt me out and the anime was pulled from Toonami right around when they were in Jaya. At that point I was younger and didn't have regular internet access and I assumed the series was canceled. A few years later a friend showed me Unlimited Cruise and I was shocked by all these new things I hadn't seen. I quickly began asking all kinds of questions and was very excited to read the series again.
To answer your question though, I decided to catch up to the series in 2013. The first new chapter I read was 711: Adventure in the Land of Dwarves which came out June 17, 2013. I apologize for the long response, but it was nice to reminisce like that.
I first heard about One Piece when I was 9 when it came out in the US version of Shonen Jump.
I didn't become a big fan until high school after I fell out of love with Naruto.
I got into One Piece when I was about 9 years old, back in 2005. I watched the 4Kids dub on TV and thought it had funny voices and I thought it was cool the MC could stretch, it also reminded me a lot of DB, which was my GOAT as a youngin'.
I kept up with it through the weekly Toonami episodes, started reading the manga when I was around 10-11 since my library had the volumes (I thought it was better only because it had blood, little did I know) then when FUNi got the rights I thought it was cool the new voices were people I recognized from the DBZ dub. During 8th grade I started watching everything from Foxy to Saboady to catch up with the series, the latest episode at the time was the one where Kuma had split up all the Straw Hats and I couldn't believe what happened so I started reading the manga at Amazon Lily to see what would happen next, so I've basically been reading weekly since….Impel Down? Because I checked out the latest chapter at the time and thought it was cool Crocodile had come back and was fighting with Luffy, and then in that same chapter Luffy learns Teach is the one who captured Ace.
Wow, such an organized and comprehensive list on the 1st post. I really enjoyed reading that!
I was always aware of One Piece, but it took me a looong time to get into it. I can't place an exact date, but I know I started around late June/early July in the summer of 2014. So, the date would be around the release of chapter 751 or 752?
I am pretty new in this regard. I started watching Anime two years back and kept watching even after catching up.
Eventually got tired of all the waiting and made the great decision to switch to manga.
Started reading from where I left in the Anime to catch up quickly and finished till 774.
So, my first new chapter was 775 (The one with Senor Pink).
Long time fan here. Bought the first volume right away as it came out in my country back then. Somewhat 2006 someone mentioned to me that there is newer stuff on the internet, cause I craved for every new volume. Since then I crave for every new chapter online
Could have been in the middle of Enies Lobby, I'm really not sure which chap it was.
Though my first exposure to One Piece was the 4Kids dub, I didn't become a fan until 2005. I'd gotten caught up with some fansubs I was watching, then started reading the manga in the middle of Skypiea. It wasn't until Enies Lobby that I caught up to the series, right before Luffy's fight with Blueno.
I first heard about/saw a preview for the series on toonami years ago while I was watching one of guilty pleasures like Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, etc and the series didn't appeal to me. Fast forward a few years and a friend from school recommended the series to me one day after we binge watched anime all night. He told me the protagonist ate a lot of food just like Goku, since I was only familiar with a few shonen shows at the time. I found a torrent for the series in dual audio and i started to watch it.
The moment Zoro appeared and spoke I recognized his voice since I was watching the dub and Piccolo and Zoro had the same va. I couldn't believe it, it was like fate was telling me to watch it. I had caught up to the english series in no time at all. I binged watched the series faster then any before and my addiction wasn't satisfied. I craved more, my body started to go into withdrawal. I called my friend and told him I was hooked and couldn't wait for new episodes. He told me that if I didn't mind reading I could watch the subbed series. I didn't know what that meant at the time. He told me that Japanese videos were available with subtitles and showed me how to search the web for them after i ran out of clumped episodes to torrent.
I started to watch the episodes on watchop.com and eventually ran out of episodes to watch. I decided that the story was too amazing to not be fully caught up and started reading chapters online for the first time.
I caught up to the series on a wednesday. I recall the day, since wednesday's became the best day of the week since CCC/Aohige would release a script for the newest chapter on the site. I read the chapter and I was blown away. Luffy had just unleashed Red Hawk, a fire attack, under the sea.
I'll never forget that day or chapter. I caught up to One Piece on 10/27/2011 when chapter 644: To Nothing was released online.
Started in I believe 2006-2007 (Thanks to ZKaiser). Been obsessed ever since.
Started reading in 2009.
I bought volume 1 that came out in Italy in 2001. Kept reading only volumes up to volume 33, from there on i begun to read online too (my first new chapter was 398).
Started at 04/06/2011 chapter 620
Aw man, my thread has been reborn!
I'll have to dig out the little program I built to generate these results and stuff.
Wooh!
You need a WrathPony ModPony Avatar sir
my first one piece chapter i've read is 655 "punk hazard" i started it at the end of FI arc in the anime.. as i was an anime watcher back then.. i really don't remember what time is that but it was the year of 2013.. and since then i didn't watch the anime.. terrible pacing and animation..
I started One Piece in 2005 with anime got into manga in 2006-2007.
I started watching the anime first when it was dubbed in german and the first episode I saw was the 7th back in 2003 or 2004. It took me forever to watch all the episodes because most of the time they aired while I was at school and I was to lazy to record them. I even remember being in a hurry to catch my train so I could watch like the last 5 minutes of the latest episode. Sometime after the Skypia Arc, I decided to start reading the manga. The first volume I bought was 38 and I bought all volumes after the Skypia Arc in the next few weeks since I had no clue what the story was about.
Due to the fact that I'm very impatient I ended up reading spoilers shortly afterwards with the first chapter being 396.
The chapter after when we first see the random ghost ship Brook is introduced on. 443 I think.
I have been a fan since around 2005 when I was 10 years old. In New Zealand all they showed on Cartoon Network was 4kids but I still fell in love with the anime. My first memory is Luffy v Kuro when he dropped the rock on his claw and from then on I was in love. Eventually episodes stopped showing in NZ around half way through Arabasta when Luffy is first beaten by Crocodile. I remember turning the TV on every day to see if there were new episodes and eventually was convinced that Luffy had died and the series was over.
Finally I discovered the manga on the old MSN groups (Those were the days :P) in 2007 (First year high school). I am now 20 and own about 10 VIZ volumes and around 5 Japanese volumes from when I went there in 2008. I really want to buy the whole collection one day ($$). I sometimes wish I could go back to not knowing anything about One Piece because Binge Reading before school everyday on MSN about Water 7 and Enis Lobby were honestly some of the best times.
Sadly because I am in New Zealand the only anime many people know is Dragon Ball, Naruto and sometimes Bleach. I still remember arguing with a girl everyday in Japanese class about how she should actually read One Piece before stating Bleach was definitively better. Never had a more rage inducing moment when she argued that Kubo's infamous Black Pages were works of Art. Moral is never argue with a Bleach Fan they will crush you.
I remember catching up to the dubbed anime when Ace and Luffy meet in Alabasta.
In my country (Sweden) they didn't show other animated shows other than pokemon and yu-gi-oh at the time. But somehow I discovered it when I got my first computer. And short of some month long breaks I haven´t stopped =)
I discovered the manga in 2008-09 years after that.
I started reading in 2003. By then, the manga was (in my country) in the Arlong arc. In Japan, it was in the end of Skypiea.
Around the same time I sarted watching the anime but I never made it past the East Blue part. I stoped watching and decided to stick only with the manga. I don't like the anime at all.
I've started reading the manga in september 2001, a bit before the 7th volume was released in my country and in japan it was Luffy vs Crocodile round 2.
And I've started reading the chapters weekly in August 2004 with the 331st chapter the quarrel between Luffy and Usopp
Started reading the manga in March 2003 when the Swedish translation first came out.
I believe I started reading weekly at chapter 323, but I'm not 100% sure. It was somewhere around the beginning of Water 7.
I don't know if I've contributed here but… I began reading weekly by Sabaody. It was a great time to start to read weekly, since slow ass Thriller Bark was just over.
around 94, they were just finishing arlong park when i found the manga.
Chapter 690 was when i caught up with the manga, so 691 ("The King of the Land of Death", 2012-12-10) was a new chapter for me
I started reading on august or september 2009
I started reading/watching during the swine flu pandemic. I was one of the first ones to get it in Finland, and back then there wasn't an actual cure or anything, so I was sick for 2 weeks and my brother suggested one piece for me.
2009 I think?
I started by reading the manga, recommended to me by friends. Took me a few months, and I stupidly read through it all on Mangapanda shudders But overall it was a fun experience and I caught up at I believe Chapter 750. My first chapter week to week was the one after the two week hiatus due to Oda's tonsil operation.
When US Shonen Jump first came out, a friend bought it and I immediately loved One Piece. That was early 2003. Eventually I was able to start downloading and following the series, but that wasn't till 2004 (I remember because a friend who had some of Chinese bootlegs of movies 2 & 3 had a 2004 poster calendar)
I actually started watching the anime first and yes it was 4kids. Then, through the magic of the internet I found more episodes and continued watching. All the way up until I THINK Chapter 368: Sea Train Battle Game.
I started off reading the US monthly shonen jumps when they first came out. When I found out that wonderful people online were translating and posting the manga online I began catching up as soon as I could. It took me awhile to catch up to the weekly chapters, I think it was around 377.
One day i was sitting with nothing to do and was going through Naruto and hulu gave me this recommendation for One Piece. I remember thinking One Piece was awesome when i was a little kid but since i joined in pretty late i didn't understand it so i eventually stopped. Then I caught up right at the beginning of Dressrosa. Then not knowing anything about Mangas i just waited for the anime to come out each week for awhile then I started reading the manga I don't remember exactly when i did but i think it was the cabbage and romeo chapter so 772. I guess that makes me the newest person on here
