That was nice. It's always cool to know how a masterful voice actor like Furuya still puts so much effort to get and voice a character.

I'm translated from Redon's scan Feb. 8 – 681**:** 「五億の首! 狙われたウソランド!」 “500 Million Bounty! The Target is Usoland!”
-
If we have Sanji's crew escape trouble and head towards Zou there would be a perfect opportunity to have a filler arc containing people on the sunny and it could make up for not seeing them for about a year

The manga will likely cover those events, so I'd rather Toei stay away from it.

Oh, we might get some Koala action next week. I'm all for it.

Japanese Titles for Anime Episodes 682, 683 Announced: http://onepiecepodcast.com/2015/02/09/japanese-titles-for-anime-episodes-682-683-announced/ • Feb. 15 – 682: 「敵陣突破 ルフィ・ゾロ反撃開始」 Breaking through Enemy Lines! Luffy and Zoro Launch the Counter-Attack! • Feb. 22: Break (Tokyo Marathon) thanks to BernieCrane & ChibiGoku
• Mar. 1 – 683: 「大地鳴動 破壊神巨大ピーカ降臨」 The Earth Shakes – Advent of the Giant God of Destruction, Pica! • Mar. 8: Break (Nagoya Women's Marathon) thanks to BernieCrane & ChibiGoku -
So, I guess the Tokyo Marathon is on Feb. 22 but what's the deal with March 8th? Is it just the show taking a break (for whatever reason) or is there another event on that day?

Okay, that's odd. I checked Syoboi and they got an updated schedule from Fuji TV (Feb. 22nd being preempted), but March 8 is listed as airing a new episode (same with Dragon Ball Kai). So I'm not sure what to believe here…
EDIT: Okay, apparently from what my buddy in Kanzenshuu's IRC chat told me, apparently the "Nagoya Women's Marathon" is planned for March 8th, so that would explain why One Piece is off the schedule (and most likely Dragon Ball Kai as well). I'm guessing Syoboi's schedules going to get updated again, soon.
-
Got the feeling that the next couple of episodes are going to be slow.
It's gonna be amplified by the fact that the anime is taking a couple breaks.

There's a reason why I mentioned dat angle my friend.
It's not like I didn't notice it.
! Not as if I couldn't anyways
Also looks like we might get some Koala fishman-karate filler action in tomorrow's episode. Cute.

I think I posted this on the wrong tread

Let's hope these breaks give the animators some extra time to fine-tune the upcoming episodes.

Or maybe do a new opening

@Elektrik:
Or maybe do a new opening
yeah, thats not gonna happen. the arc isnt even half over, were practically at the climax give or take.
plus i don't think an arc has had 2 openings,at least not recently.
-
They'll probably just keep changing the scenes.

Punk Hazard had 2 openings. I think there will be a new opening on april or octuber.

Huh, for a guess there's a lot of time between April and October; what makes you think that?
-
Punk Hazard had 2 openings.
Doesn't really count since We Go was a holdover from the previous arc (in fact the beginning to the New World). It was loooong past its expiration date before they finally dropped it. Wake Up hasn't even gotten through half this arc (or just barely).
The most recent example I can think of was Enies Lobby which had its original opening last for a relatively short time-frame before dropping it for a extended one that also took the place of the since-absent ending credit sequence. Perhaps Impel Down too, but it's been ages since I've watched that arc.
I'm thinking they'll just keep updating the current one with a few new scenes like they have been.
-
@Mr.:
Perhaps Impel Down too, but it's been ages since I've watched that arc.
Impel Down started with "Share the World!" and after the Little East Blue filler arc resumed with "Kaze wo Sagashite", so not the same situation as Enies Lobby.
-
Of course there will be a change of opening for this arc, sometime in Spring. Celebrating a 15th Anniversary for more than a year is just, eh?
-
It's kinda easy to edit the 15th anniversary tagline though.
-
Keep in mind all the characters are wearing their 'anniversary' outfits and the whole opening sequence is based around that. The only thing they might edit with 'Wake Up' are the Dressrosa clips, and if those aren't updated within the next 3 weeks it's certain they plan on changing the opening soon.
The debate to keep a specific opening airing for arc consistency is weak, and only because there is short Dressrosa footage towards the end?
-
Celebrating the 15th anniversary, you say? Yeah, funny thing about that… That tagline isn't even there on the BluRays.
Though, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the first variation of the opening around for quite a bit longer than this new version with the commanders and Sabo and Fujitora VS Doffy and all that has been so far? I mean, the first version was used all up till the point Sabo appeared, which was already like, 40 episodes into the arc… and it's been what, fifteen episodes since then?
-
I wonder, if they are any changes between Bluray and TV version of One Piece? In terms of better drawing, new effects and so on.
-

I think it makes sense that the 15th Ani tag isn't used for home releases, it's potentially confusing.
Good point. The thing with the openings preview scenes is that they updated them soon after revealing them in the episodes the first time round, the same can't be said for the current version where the episodes have caught up with the preview scenes for a while, surely they could have used scenes from much further into the arc? That's why I'm inclined to think they plan on changing the opening, to save scenes from further into the arc for the new opening. Sorry if this is confusing to read.

They actually updated Wake Up's initial opening to include minor touches to the animation, this meant the initial broadcast version was never seen on the home release:
Toei rarely go back to re-do animation for home releases unless the errors are obvious, there was a broadcast episode with two Zoros on screen at the same time, I'm sure they fixed that. They also went back and fixed many things with Episode of Merry, but it's still a complete mess.
Here's a technical animation error from the debut episode which has never been fixed:

The Zoro error wasn't fixed, but since the DVDs were released at the "4:3" resolution, it was cropped out.

Pica's voice actor: Yuji Mitsuya.
-
If he does that voice, but with a slightly higher pitch, it'll be great.
-
Actually there's been rumor about him being Pica's seiyuu at 2ch and it became more likely once this photo from Mayumi's blog appeared last month (the guy sitting between Mayumi and Nozawa). Wasn't it Mayumi's birthday when they did ep. 682's dubbing (according to seiyuu's comment board)? Maybe they did 683 around that time too. I thought it'll stay as rumor but then it's true after all. Though it's gotta be interesting if the one dub Pica is female seiyuu, lol.
-
I love Grin´s voice but it isn´t high pitched enough.
-
-
Eh, I was expecting something SUPER high pitched. Pleakley´s ain´t enough either. I was going for something more like Chopper´s VA

Please god not another Chopper
You can't get much higher as a male unless you're Dellinger's VA or it sounds like you're trying too hard -
Let's wait until the episode airs before we judge the seiyuu choice.

Ok I'm commenting cuz I see nothing special on your sig till I look at the face.

Anyway he also did the voice of Ms. Fieldmouse from Thumbelina, it should be counted as girl voice I guess. Though I couldn't find the Japanese video.
-
He is also the seiyuu of Virgo Shaka in Saint Seiya for those who knows the series.
-
Yeah, I can´t stand Chopper´s voice either, but it´s more or less what I imagined for Pica when I read the description about his voice.
Also, basTchet: Is that something good or bad? :B the signature was made by a friend btw, and the avatar by me and colored by another friend.
