I'm preying so hard they don't mess up the voices for the Supernovas, but hearing the dubbed Moriah, I am very VERY excited, because THAT LAUGH IS JUST PERFECT AND IT'S NOT THE ORIGINAL IT'S THE ACTUAL ENGLISH VA DOING IT. Wasn't so certain about the talking BUT THE LAUGH WAS PERFECTION. Oz confused me. OH WELL. Still loving it and excited v u v

Season 6, Voyage 4 trailer:

When Thriller Bark originally aired in Japan was there less blood shown? I'm watching the funimation DVD's and I swear there is more blood than I remember and at the very least it's red instead of black.

The only noticeable example I can think of is the Sanji vs. Absalom fight.
This thread details the changes.

Oh wow thanks! This scene was certainly one which that I questioned.

Season 6, Voyage 4 trailer:
http://www.funimation.com/shows/one-piece/videos/promotional/season-six-voyage-four
squeals so loud it can be heard from space I was wondering how long before the rest of Thriller Bark came out! I can't wait to see this!! flail We'll finally get the full English version of Bink's Sake! And Brook's backstory!
I'm so torn, though. I'd prefer to just get the Collection sets, that have full arcs all in one set (plus I like the box art better), but the Collection sets are rather behind the Voyage sets. Should I just wait until Thriller Bark is released as a collection, or should I help support sooner by buying the Voyage sets? I don't knoooooow!
-
You should support the show and buy the voyages! They're only 20$ a pop. Really affordable for 12 episodes each. Can't wait to watch the trailer when I get home from work. Don't actually care much for thriller bark, but I'm looking forward to the song and flashback and whatnot.
Oh. And that zero scene.
-
I prefer the collection sets, honestly. More episodes for the same price, and less space taken up overall. You're still supporting the show by buying those.
The gigantic 100 episode box sets are a steal though, but not sure if you've actually bought any of the collections yet. If not, go for those, and buy the collections following them individually.
-
Nice trailer, although I'm not a fan of them using scenes from the last voyage.

Quick FYI, I know the image in the first post is out of date. I recently had a computer break on me and only just got a new one, haven't installed photoshop on it yet.
Gonna Update the image in the first post soonish.
-
Someone please let us know if they post it for elite members early again. Hoping to get it early and not ration it so much. Won't mind a small break between arcs, but I hate breaking in the middle.
Any word on whih con we think they'll annouce season seven at? They usually announce in July, but hat seems too late for this season unless there's another large break. And the podcast interview made it sound like they were already dubbing it.
-
If they do end up posting them early, it is more likely to happen in March, i really hope im wrong because i am ready to finish thriller bark
-
I think it's best to assume they can announce the next season at anytime. We shouldn't necessarily expect anything to be announced at a con; they could just as easily announce it on the One Piece podcast (like season 4) or on their blog/facebook (like season 6).
-
I'd like to think that the delay in Voyage 4 coming out was to reduce the wait between releases once Season 7 is officially announced.
-
I figured that, too. I'm hoping it's the usual six week break. Or slightly longer.
-
Can someone make the trailer available for non-Americans?
-
You guys do realize Funimation needs to license season 7 (or at leat annouce that it's lcensed) before there can be any hope of it coming out in the near future.
-
Nah. They could announce it one day and we could see solicitations for the set come out the next day.
-
Who said it hasn't been licensed or that they're not already recording? They were in Season 6 for a long time before they officially announced it, or even when Josh said it was a sure thing.
-
From hearing them talk, I'm like 90% sure they're already recording.
-

That means nothing though, sadly. Nearly all of Thriller Bark was dubbed last year and just look how long it's taking for the final set to come out.
-
Their excuse for delaying season 6 was because they put all their resources in trying to get Film Z out by the end of the year (I still consider it kind of a weird excuse, but I'm not inclined to believe they were lying). I believe they were trying to capitalize on the movie while it was still relatively new, so I can't imagine they would do something like that again even if they started dubbing another one of the movies. As for voyage 4, as several people have pointed out, it might have been delayed to give themselves more time to finish dubbing enough of season 7 to start releasing it at a relatively decent pace (which they did, more or less, do with season 6 prior to the final voyage). There's no guarantee things will turn out the same way as season 6.
Point is, I don't see whats wrong with people speculating, especially since we've had hints of season 7 already being in the dubbing process. I don't think we should get our hopes up for anything, but we can at least try to guess how things might turn out.
-
If they already have to rights to Season 7, then they also have to make the effort to getting the rights to Season 8 since that would be a continuing follow-up to the plot of S7.
It could be similar to how they announced the home video rights to Season 5 right before the first S4 voyage came out. -
I'm pretty sure it's being dubbed. I made an obscure reference to Shakky's Rip-off Bar on Mike's Facebook page, and he liked it.
OMZG SEASON 52 CONFERRMED

So what "clues" are you guys talking about, that lead you to believe season 7 is being dubbed? I'm just wondering is all.

Start listening to the one piece podcast when they have interviews. They reference moments and whatnot.

You mean Ian Sinclair talking about ridding in a bubble. I'm gona need a little more than that to convince me here.
-
the director talks in the interview about how they came up with a joke they have while recording One Piece where if someone questions something strange about the series, they anwser "because One Piece", and one of the instances that the director describes is camies first introduction into the seires. So I think it's safe to say that they have started to record it.
-
This definitely seems like an Amazon Lily reference from the current ADR director of the series
and this tweet from Brina fits very well with this
-
I don't know. Both those comments seem kind of like a stretch. The podcast commentary isn't entirely definitive either, but at least they suggest some knowledge of the upcoming arcs. Joel's comment there doesn't seem like a reference to any particular moment in One Piece and Brina's just seems like a general observation.
I'll take anything I see until an official announcement with a grain of salt, but I'll remain cautiously optimistic for now.
-
I agree that it's all a stretch but I'll take any hint to hope on until an official announcement. The wait for the season six announcement had similar little nothing official hints.

That's fine, no one's suggesting you should believe something without an official announcement, it's just FUNi has shown us similar hints in the past regarding future seasons prior to announcements as well. So some folks are used to this kind of thing but it makes total sense to not believe anything.
-
I'm not really trying to dismiss the idea that they could be hinting at future seasons. I'm just trying to make it clear that we should be careful of putting too much faith into some of these comments. Back during the break between seasons 3 and 4 (actually, even before season 3 officially ended) I seem to recall there being a couple comments "hinting" at season 4 that, ultimately, seemed to amount to nothing. Though I certainly understand where people are coming from; even I am kind of hoping the comments from the podcast are an indication of the next season.
-
What i hope is that for the May Solicits, we get two Season 7 sets announced , i know thats not going to happen heck we lucky if we even get one but it would so make up for this past year if it did
-
I don't know. Both those comments seem kind of like a stretch.
That's the thing about evidence; by themselves they have little meaning but put it within the context of other evidence, then you start to get something. Like this next piece of evidence regarding season seven.
The press release screw up has been on the ball so far. I see no reason to disbelieve it at this point which indicated having everything up to the end of Impel Down.
-
Wait, Chopper eats meat? For the life of me I can only imagine him eating cotton candy.
Oh, I see, non-canon anime moment.

Unless he's counting octopus as meat, because the Straw Hat's will eat takoyaki relatively soon.

Come to think of it, can Chopper talk to fish like fishmen can?
-
He can. fish are animal too.
-
He can. fish are animal too.
Can he? I don't remember him ever being shown to talk to fish at all. He can talk to land animals, but so far no sea animals. Unless I just missed something.
-
Well, Chopper could talk to the Yagaras in Water 7, as well as Sodom and Gommorah from EL, so that has to count for something.
-
It's a real gray area. If he can talk to any animal, fish included, then that should mean he can talk to Sea Kings, too. Those who have seen the Fiahman Island arc will know why that's significant.
So I am going to say that no, fish aren't meant to be included.
-
I don't think Sea Kings count as fish.
-
! Sea Kings are different from fish in the "talking ability" regard. Only Poseidon can talk to the Sea Kings (and summon them).
! And it's safe to say he can only talk to land animals. Camie had to talk to the fish to learn the location of Duval's hideout. -
Hey people watch out for spoilers. There are people in this thread who follow dub only.
-
Today is the release day for Collection Box Two and there hasn't been any update on the box-art.
-
I think it has been delayed. me and some other people who have had it pre-ordered since about august just got a notification today that the collection box set 2 is delayed and on the page itself it says that it is "sold-out". someone had contacted CS and was told that they were trying to get more shipments from the publisher. I believe that Funimation may have delayed the release for a bit and forgot to update through amazon or some kind of miscommunication like that.
-
I figured. Geez, so much miscommunication going on.
-
It's funimation; they have this reputation of not always being professional in their deadlines and packaging.
