So it's 11 minutes per side, 22 minutes total, though 14 minutes total (7 minutes per side) ideally. Though I'm not sure now if 45 or 33 1/3 rpm is more common but at least I know the general vicinity now. Thanks.

Does someone know where can i find academic sources of Cultural appropiaton and the relation with syncretism? I've done the nominal google search and found a lot of articles on Cultural appropiation and i'm sure that the people writing them brush their teeths everyday and love their mom very much but…well. I would rather read something with a little more reflection i guess. Can someone point me in the right direction?
edit: oh, a friend that is doing his phd on that will explain it to me. Still, if you guys have any info it would be great.

Anyone got any architecture blogs to suggest? Google search can only get me this far.
I need all the pictures of exteriors a blog can offer, facade ideas, elements one can decorate with, ect. But all I come up with is 4/6 of some plain box-like buildings, sometimes with planks, sometimes all glass, depressing, boring, empty of details pictures

How old are Magneto, Captain America and Wolverine ?
EDIT: And also, can someone explain to me the story of Captain Marvel ? (Marvel, not DC) .

Magneto and Captain America should both be around 80-90 while Wolverine is around 120-150.
Captain Marvel is more a title (or identity if you want) since many characters had that title (like the phoenix power or the Captain Universe title), but the original one was Marvell, a Kree officer sent to earth as a spy but then switched sides because love, his powers were granted to him by a high ranked kree commander (or something like that).
The marvel wiki can help you for details.

I just noticed that clicking the wheel of my mouse doesn't work anymore. Using the mousewheel to scroll still works, but clicking it (to close tabs for example) has no effect.
I've checked the mouse settings, but there isn't really anything related to this that I can change there. Is there anything else I can check/do? Or is my mouse just busted?

Try to take it apart, if you didn't yet. It happens a lot to me, when fur and dust collects inside. Cleaning usually fixes the mouse.

Yeah, I guess I'll give that a try.

Yay, I managed to fix it! :) -
Is there a word to describe the part where the red clouds form? Sorry if the image doesn't show but the link should work. Do tell me if it doesn't.
Thanks in advance! -

Thanks in advance! :happy:I can't see a link, unless you mean the picture itself. Seemingly, the red cloud formation is a spectacular sight that your link might shed light on.

He's talking about the red cloudy stuff in the liquid that the red stuff is being poured into. I can't think of any word off the top of my head but then again I'm not a chemistry person. Precipitate is the word for a solid that's left over after a chemical reaction though so there may be a word like that for what he's asking.
Edit: I think this might be close enough
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colloid
This is essentially an insoluble substance (such as another liquid that won't mix entirely with another liquid, causing it to be cloudy) inside another substance. So in your image the red liquid probably won't entirely dissolve into the other liquid. The red liquid would be a colloid and the substance itself that's made up of both liquids is also a colloid.
This seems to be a more specific word for a colloid made up of two liquids

Thank you very much for your clarifications and the links you provided, it's very much appreciated.

Thank you for both of your answers.
I clicked preview post and only saw the link, not the image so I just thought that I should mention it in my post. Turns out, the image worked but I was in a hurry so I didn't edit my post.
Sorry, but I think I was not very clear in asking the question. Let me rephrase it.
What I meant was a verb for the cloud formation in the chemical. For example, the red chemical insert verb here into the orange chemical.
Again, it was an error on my part so I really apologize.P.S.: I'm a she but it's okay. My avatar doesn't really show it.
But a really big thanks to both of you for taking your time out to answer this. I really appreciate it!
-
A verb for the pouring of the liquid into the other liquid or a verb for the cloud formation? Or for them mixing entirely?
-
The red liquid diffused throughout the yellow mixture
or something
-
I really apologize for the late reply.
@Sakonosolo
The verb for the cloud formation.@Purple Hermit
Thank you!I wanted to use the word in a story so it didn't have to be a scientific term but I really appreciate the help. Thanks a lot everyone!

Anyone know why my Macbook keeps automatically going to the dimmest setting even while I'm using it and am in a sufficiently bright area?
-
I don't use a Mac but I know that Windows has battery settings that control how bright the screen is and various other things depending on the circumstances, like if it's plugged in or running on battery and that kind of thing. Try looking for something like that in the settings.

I did that. I search this up and it says maybe it's my battery settings, but I changed that. Then it says maybe it's the auto light sensor, but that doesn't hold up because the light doesn't change when I cover the sensor.

Do you want to talk about what went wrong in your life or will you just continue on your hate spree?
You know, at first I took your comment regarding my looks personally but then I realised that you just want to get banned, so I actually don't even care. But you can try again if you want. -

Anyone knows the reason behind the new WSJ cover being a Kabuki themed one ?

I'm asking this because this isn't the only place where there's a Kabuki themed release, any special event ?

Late, but it might be because of the One Piece Kabuki play premiering next Fall.

So I've been trying to come up with a signature that I like so I frequently change it and I've noticed something weird that I'm not sure was how it worked before. Putting on a signature doesn't affect all of my posts. So if I put a new signature on, it seems like it only affects new posts and the posts I made before it without a signature don't automatically get updated with a signature, any signature. I doubt avatars work the same way. If I take my avatar off right now and make a post then put it back on that post I made without an avatar should have my avatar, but that's exactly how signatures seem to work right now and I'm not sure if there's an admin-side option for this or not. I didn't see anything in my options for it, though I can go back to posts I made without a signature and put show signature but that's a bit of a hassle.

Well…. I just checked some of your older posts, and the new signature seems to be there. Which posts are having that problem?
I believe if you untick the "show your signature" button, that post will never show a signature.
-
Huh. I noticed it a few times but the one I checked this time was my last post in the What Are You Listening To thread and it wasn't showing the signature until I edited the post and checked show signature. The box you're talking about is checked, I checked. Maybe there's some kind of delay until they start showing up on older posts?
Though I'm actually looking at

I have a question related to the forums here. When I'm able, I want to make a thread in the Art section to post my (really bad) fan art and such. Is it within the rules there to post short stories to go with the pictures, or would those have to be kept to the writing forum? The stories would always be directly related to the pictures, and always posted WITH a picture, so it wouldn't be any stories posted just on their own.
-
There's no explicit rules for the art forum other than the obvious categorizations, so feel free to do as you please if the short stories go along with the visual art.
-
Hello y'all.
Since this is a quick fix, I don't believe that my question warranted it's own thread, and so I'm asking here instead:
I need some help for a new signature. I already have the image I would like to use, but do not know how to change the image background to a transparent background (like my Avatar), so the background matches the forum's colors.
I don't have GIMP (the computer that I'm using is really outdated), so if I post the image in the hidden tags below, could a very generous and GIMP-savy member change the backgrounds to transparent for me?
I'd be very much appreciated.

If I wanted to get some help with writing, would I ask here or in the writing forums? Once I'm able to post my own threads the wait is so looooong I want to see about getting some help from folks here about some ideas with my OC and Brook, and will likely use the thread to ask for further help later on. Want to make sure I post it in the right place.

You're probably better off in the writing forum, as most of the people that frequent it are writers themselves.

Somehow the site isn't responding well with me, not where the problem is? like some buttons are missing when editing a post. I also tried to quote a big post and it only showed the first line of the post!
Also when I try to scroll up/down with my mouse it just moves slightly to the direction I'm scrolling too. Not like it should do or usually do in other sites. Not if it's a browser issue or what

Also my post doesn't show when I post it until I reload the page.

Dunno if it's a problem cuz of firefox… But if I quick reply the text I write won't return to the next line and instead it is writing in one all the time... A bit annoying cuz if I don't look at the text and to not enter some paragraps myself I have to scroll left and right all the time

I downgraded it to 35 and everything was fine...

Question, why can't I create any threads outside of the Introduction section? I can post replies just fine, but I get this message when I try to create a new thread:

You have to post more to get that ability.
Looking at your user title, you're a "Stowaway". After enough posts, that'll display as "Discovered Stowaway", and you'll be able to make threads.
-
I suspected this was the case, but I couldn't find anything about it in the rules or the Q&A… anyway, thanks! :)

How many of you guys in the states had lockers back in elementary school?
I see it all the time in fiction, but most people I've seen say they had cubbies.
-
Not in elementary school but in 6th grade, middle school, and high school I did. Not really much point of having lockers in elementary school since generally the students stay in one room and the teachers are the ones that move around. If you even have more than one teacher. Are you sure the stuff you're talking about isn't middle school?

Well, it seems like Firefox 36 was (and probably still is) quite the buggy release, since by now we are already at 36.0.4 (yes, the fourth bux-fix in a matter of days): is that issue still around?
