Well that's a tricky question. I don't want these fights to stretch endlessly, but at the same time, it's a shame to see characters that show promise being defeated in such an unceremonious manner. It is probably the best way to deal with the situation where there's so many fights going on at the same time, but can't help but wonder if it would have been better if it was done differently from the start.
This way we have some fights on and off, and then we get a resolution. Considering last chapter and how Machvise went down (or up ) it seems repetitive. If Dellinger or someone else gets taken out in a similar fashion next chapter, it will look even more repetitive.
Those are some valid concerns after 70 chapters of build up but on the other hand you have to think three things;
1)Although Oda adorned the villains with nice quirks and interesting personalities,yet he didn't bother to give them interesting powers to match their characters.And that leads me to believe that from the start Oda didn't intent to give them full Alabasta fights.How can you write a 2 chapter fight about a ton ton man,a spinning man,an old man whose powers are based on a gag and a fishman that just hops here and there?Where are the mysterious and weird powers that can support big and juicy fights?Heck,even the powers users have abilities that appeared before or don't fit wit combat.
2)This isn't the Alabasta of the New World.Yes i know,we are near 200 chapters after the timeskip and facing an over hyped villain but in fact we are only in the third station of the journey.I believe the troublesome enemies will start to appear at Wano country and after that.STORYWISE it's still early for our heroes to face all powerful enemies.
3)Our heroes aren't even facing the enemies.The classic shonen conflicts where the protagonists,here the strawhats,are facing yet another obstacle and are forced to harden their resolve,overcome the dangers and expose some bits of their character are absent here.To the contrary,we have completely secondary characters with basic fight styles and moves that Oda decided to pit against some minor executives in order to present them to us for the feature alliance.And i expect that in the future these allies will do the lowest enemy cleaning again
Now,if we see the same type of coverage and in the higher executives fights then i agree with you.(I also want Gladius to have a proper fight since his powers allow a big and detailed fight)
