Because unlike Doflamingo, Rocinante has humanity, sympathy and familial affection in his heart. Even when standing in his brother's path, he still cherishes their blood bond as evidenced clearly when he told Law that Doflamingo won't kill him as they are after all brothers. Now, whether he truly believed that or just said it to comfort Law, in the end he still couldn't pull the trigger. He is "a lot like their father".

"Its a pitty" because he was the first Corazon (Vergo) and Law was going to be the third one in the seat and is something that they started together, so overseeing over who was going to be his successor became something I guess???

Chopper wasn't with Luffy in Marinford because he was weak, he would've gotten in the way. And Luffy got badly damaged because he was weak too. That's the whole point. If anything like Marinford happens again I'm sure Luffy won't go at it without his crew or his crew will come to him and Luffy won't be so badly injured that he needs operation again, if he does Chopper will be there.

I'm very confused about the first few panels. We are given no context as to how hem met vergo or trebol lol. Even so, trebol looks wayyyy too old, unless thats his father haha.
I wonder about the exact relationship Drake and Barrels has.
I mistook Barrels for being Drake when he first appeared and that's saying something…
Especially with him being an ex-marine, having similar features and the Diez (X.) thing with his name.

Perhaps as the strongest member in the crew, Dory was responsible to be the main fighter for most of the fights Barrels pirates had.

This was a Freakin' Awesoem chapter. It is a bit symbolic that DD killed both his dad and Rosinante with a pistol and also shot Law with it; whenever DD whips out a pistol some trauma is not far away.
Rosinante, you were a true man and (hands down) one of THE best non-strawhat characters of the series. The 2 parts that really stuck out for me was:
a) Rosinante declaring Law's freedom from both his former doomed fate and Doflamingo.
b) Rosinante staying alive to make sure Law got as much time as possible.
R.I.P Cora-san; you said more with your silence than most people could in an entire lifetime.
Noticed that Dofla killed his father and his brother in one chapter. Quite an achievement.
And he does it like a real Celestial. With pistols.

I just need to say that trebol with glasses and the voice chosen by the anime looks rather clumsy. In the manga with glasses and without sound looks kind of freaky. But trebol without glasses with or without voice looks incredibly EVIL. This guy might actually be the biggest threat from all the executives if he is not indeed the one who is controlling the puppeteer himself from behind. God after this flashback corazon, law and trebol have scored high places in my Most wanted OP characters. They´re so amazing

I have to say that even though Cora san's fate was known beforehand , I still had a tear in one of my eyes while reading the chapter. I think that as far as flashback characters goes , Cora -san is now one of my favorites and strangely enough he gave the only grin I had while reading this chapter when He said I love you to Law before dying .

I understand. It's as described by you, more passive than the immediate "I wanna be a sea cucumber when I am reborn". The last point where you mentioned that breathing is too much is what sparked the Perona comparison in my head. I think the lack of ambition would result in a monotonous loop of repeating the old "work dead end job, eat, sleep, grow old and die" with no higher aims in life and life just becomes living the preset remaining number of days until death. I mean desa mentioned owning a bar but even that requires ambition. Lack of ambition means no dreams what so ever and if someone is stuck like that in a series revolving about dreams then they are doomed, you are so cruel.
