As much as Simpsons are unwatchable garbage, I'm surprised they know about One Piece.
Probably googled top popular animu or something.

Their are some pretty good episodes every now and then. I know it's a popular opinion to hate them because of longevity, but their are good episodes in the batch, and the couch gags get better and better.
-
There are absolutely no good episodes, and I don't give a flying fuck about what's popular. The writing on Simpsons is literally the worst on television right now. Worse then MacFartlane.
How are there so many tasteless plebs that still keep it on air is a question. -
Can someone help me ?
I recall that there was a thread here about the One Piece Film Z poster with the young marines where everybody was identified. Can someone link me please to that thread ? I can't find with the search function on the site and with google, I might be using the wrong tags though.
Thanks in advance.
I don't know about the thread. Might have been trending before I joined. But there's a picture on deviantart with some names on. Not sure if all the known names were listed. Naturally, Corazon is not listed, since he was unknown at that time.

Those rabid new accounts keep getting worse, Jesus.

You know; would it kill Toei to get some new sound effects for the anime once in a while? It's just that Toei has been reusing so many old effects for years that it's getting on my nerves, and they're often not very good. I still hate that teardrop sound since the beginning.

Haha no. That's good money that needs to be spent on hookers and blow. The anime can keep its old sound effects and like it.
That means every time a rock/boulder/wall breaks, they use that same opening-pokeball-sounding "crack" effect that's been around since the Kuro arc. Or when a big person walks around, their steps sound mechanized. Almost as if they were Pacifistas.. Go figure. -
I don't get why they change some other sounds. For the worse. For example, the first Soru sound was awesome. Now, when Luffy does it, it sounds like… I don't know what it sounds like. A high pitched fart?
Kuma's fast movement sounded awesome on TB. It was a separate sound and it fit him nice. But on Shabondy, his fast movement had the same high pitched fart sound.
But at least in this last episode Hakuba's moving sounded nice to my ears.

Maybe, but they are plenty of great episodes.

So, this is it. We've literally ran out of things to criticize the anime for. I knew this day would come.
-
The
is relatively new though…I think.
It's true that they could find a better sound in the country where fictional characters cry the most. Or they could use no sound at all like they did during Merry's funeral. -

Don't worry, we haven't.

This seems like a legit complaint to me. I've been a bit bothered by it for a while now.

Well then,…..
OK. Though I will admit your criticisms are more colorful and varied, unlike most of the bandwagoners.

Stock sound-effects rarely get updated even over the course of decades. Most of the time it's an off-the-shelf studio library. It's less common now in terms of feature films (or they hide it better) but not so in terms of anime (and most other cartoons) where they will try to avoid spending extra money on recording new sounds.

Never figured out why those teardrops needed a sound effect unless special attention was paid to a teardrop falling into a puddle or such.

Sholololololo!
(I would have laughed more if you hadn't already kill me with your last post) -
20th of October 1999 was the date the One Piece anime began airing, the Anniversary that has been hyped so much since the new opening aired in January!
I think it's notable that the Simpsons payed tribute to One Piece on the 19th of October, nice little coincidence. Although they are nothing alike, it's notable that One Piece has surpassed the episode count of the Simpsons, it would come as no surprise if One Piece were to air for 25 years as well. Anyway until then….
Happy 15th!

I'm just really tired of these bad sound effects. It's not even like they're well mixed or sound good in the first place. The sound guy at Toei does a terrible job hiding the fact that they all sound the same or just leaving scenes barren that could use sound effects. For starters, in the Dressrosa episodes where Luffy would be in the preparation room of the Coliseum there is not a single sound of ambience even if there are hundreds of gladiators tromping around the place. Not even a sound of someone coughing. Or you have that same walking sound effect for every character that sounds like they are horses.
-
I think the sound effects complaint is actually a really fair complaint. One piece sound effects aren't that good and there are too many reused ones, would it hurt for a series this long and big to innovate a bit?
And the sound effect on those chinjao tears were probably because Chinjao is just a really big guy

It was probably a clumsy attempt to emphasize his sadness. He was hurt so bad!

isn't it is time for new Opening? how many episode current op air right now?
-
Normally, yes. But I don't think it will happen right now because they've changed some scenes in the opening, so the new opening might air until april or so.

Don't expect a new opening until after Dressrosa. Nor do I think they could even MAKE an opening with the precious few new material they have.

I've always been curious about this, but I have to ask. What makes you keep up with the anime?
You don't seem to like it very much at all. The way you describe it makes it seem insta-drop worthy. -
Honestly, the love of one piece is something I'm sure that keeps most people watching. Though this is coming from someone who isn't so anal about the details.
-
I Love the one piece manga but I enjoy the anime a lot more then the manga, i feel the like the epic story scenes/major plot points or emotional scenes/flash back arcs are even better in anime then manga.
-
Not sure if you guys have seen these before:
-
Cool idea, very creative and interesting.
-
Komaki aya is such an amazing director, if she doesn't direct the next one piece movie then burn Toei to the ground.
One piece Movie 13
Director Komaki aya
Chief animation director Katsumi ishizuka
Script writer Yoshiyuki Suga
Original story & produced by eichiro OdaDream Team make it happen toei or else.

I just said they're almost caught up to the manga; I dunno what else new they could squeeze into another opening. Besides, we've had to put up with the same opening for much longer before. At least they changed some stuff up for this current one.The One Piece anime is like owning a sick dog. Sure it throws up on the carpet and poops itself in its sleep.. but what can you do? It's your dog.

@Miss:

Nothing in that particular post made me ask that question. This is something that i've always been interesting in knowing so when I saw you I decided to ask it. You've always been vocal about your dislike for the majority of the things that happen so I was interested in what made you keep with it despite not being very happy with it's quality.

Oh, I understand now. Makes sense.

I was introduced to the series through the anime first. Long before I ever read a single manga chapter, I was watching the 4Kids dub of Drum Island. I liked the look of the series. How solid and sharp, colorful and unique the characters looked. The anime's lost almost all of those qualities now. Everything looks dull and flat and there aren't any bold lines anywhere. And that's just from a general "look" perspective.
But I continue to watch it because it's not 100% bad. And I always want to see the things they do get right, or sometimes manage to do better than the manga. So it's not a lost war.. just an uphill battle.

Why you posted that here is beyond me.
-
-
I think something like that would be better suited for General One Piece.
-
Ok, will keep that in mind if I post the next one.
-
-
And yet your post had nothing to do with the anime.
I mean it's not like they used the audio from the anime or anything right?
just some moving manga panels that have nothing to do with the anime.
