There's so many boy band and road trip movie jokes to choose from I feel like I'm starving under a fig tree.

The gameplay is kinda slippery and awkward, it less KH style..
Don't know if that's bad or or good.
-
Ugh…I dunno why, but I'm definintely not feeling FF15.
It's probably because you were actually expecting a Final Fantasy game
-
Can Square Enix go back to aping fantasy cliches instead of anime cliches?
-

Best they'll compromise with is Bravely Default
-
It looks like the cast of Free went on a road trip and beat up some dinosaurs along the way….I don't hate this concept.
-
Hey its FF15 in TGS
There's something about making the game look more realistic that really brings home the face that you're just slaughtering animals in their home fields.

Is it the realism or the fact that they're driving aimlessly in the middle of nowhere just killing animals for experience?

That certainly helps. It makes me think of teenagers that blow up frogs with firecrackers for fun.

Maybe if the attitude was less nonchalant about it…
All in all the mechanics of the actual game though look really... rough. I know they're going for engaging and Advent Children style action... but it doesn't look too exciting at the moment.
-
It is really sad, ya'know. They can make the best game they can, it won't live up to 10 years of hype. They only have themselves to blame really.
-
I dunno, I think it looks really fun. Though it also gave me Xenoblade Chronicles X vibes lol.
-
I think FFXV looks awesome
I love cars? I really like cars? And even if JRPGs are always like, technically road trips, if hte whole game really is one For Real I'm sold
-
I'm all up for a roadtrip RPG if it were titled Mother 4 :ninja:
-
I would be all up for a tax-filing RPG if it were titled Mother 4.
-
Time to get your balance sheets ready for Mother 4

Welp, Tetsuya Nomura has been fired as director of Final Fantasy XV. He is no longer working on the project at all and instead is working on Kingdom Hearts III and other titles. Guess Square got sick of the delays finally and believe a new director will actually get the game finished. That must really hurt tho.
Hajime Tabata is his replacement. He is the director of FF Type-0, the 3rd Birthday, and FF Crisis Core.

Silent Hills TGS stream is starting.

I'm guessing they didn't want another Final Fantasy 14 debacle on their hands…not that it can't still happen.

Hey its FF15 in TGS
-
Great animation and overall graphics: check. Amazing rendered cutscenes: check. Somewhat cool gameplay with teleport mechanics: check. Interesting world, much more so than the crap in FF 13: check. Annoying emo dudes and teens and not a single female party member: check.
The game so far sure looks very interesting and I like the new combat mechanic, but I don't really feel the main characters yet, especially the hyper blonde guy, ugh. And if there really won't be another members that are gonna be in that group, then it's gonna be kinda boring to only have those 4 guys. But who knows, maybe don't.^^
-
The combat system looks madly similar to something I've seen already. The heavy movements and animations especially. Can't remember what the name of the game was… Uh? White Knight Chronicles?
-
Lol FF: Road Trip. The vibe seems really fun but man nothing has changed much. It still looks good but nobody has played it yet, the story can still be craptastic who knows.
It's waiting and hoping. For now I'm going to get myself more hyped about bravely second the hopefully amazing soundtrack that will come with it.
-
I wouldn't mind go in a RPG road trip with Travis Touchdown. I got a Stand By Me felling even without the train rails.
-
Game of the Infinity
Seriously if this game is as heavy on them just hanging out together and bonding as it looks, it'll be wonderful. This is a really unique approach to the series we legit haven't seen before, and there's so few JRPGs in the first place that seem to have this as an angle? Just pals hanging out? This road trip is the most interesting thing the non-online series has done since uh. The 2000s?

Okay the barbecue is making me interested
Side quest where you have to collect all the barbecue recipes in the world???
-
You get a game over if you use a charcoal grill.
-
This game smells like adventure! It's looking great.
It will surely erase FF XIII-2 from my memory.
-
What's this final fantasy XIII you are talking about? I don't remember them ever releasing that. I'm sure they jumped from 12 to 15.
-
Mah, XIII's gameplay was often soporific but I loved the universe, the characters and the story.
Not only XIII-2 had none of these, but it was full of doors that open with DLC. -
I ended up buying Wildstar to treat myself for making it into 2nd year and also because it looks pretty kickass and some things with WoW were frustrating me (I still play WoW cause I be damned I want my fecking cape) but I need a teeny wheeny break from WoW due to things annoying me (i.e. BLIZZARD BEING DOUCHES AND GIVING SUCH SHORT FUCKING NOTICE ON THE FACT THEY DECIDED WHEN WOD DROPS PANDARIA WILL BE LIKE TTLY USELESS AND REMOVE THE WHOLE FRIKKEN QUESTLINE FOR THE CLOAK AS WELL AS OBTAINING IT I MEAN CMON I KNOW WRATHY ISN'T GONNA BE CHILLIN IN PANDARIA BUT COME THE FUCK ON)
Yeah I need me some Wildstar.
And the first thing I'm gonna make is a fecking Chua and dey gon' be the most badass lil thang to ever live in the realm of booty stompin' -

This means that we can't be friends anymore.

I really did. It just turned out to be another WoW clone for the most part though, unfortunately. Not to mention that after 3 months, they still haven't been able to optimize the game properly, from what I've read.

Four dudes traveling and hangin out for the entirety of a billion hour rpg? Get ready for some major bromance shenanigans.

I know most people on this forum don't play on PC but Nvidia just announced their high end 900 series cards. The 970 for $330 (almost $100 less than the 670 and 770 were on release) is especially enticing. Both the 970 and the 980 are around the same performance as a 780ti while costing much less and the 980 even beats it sometimes. They're both more powerful than a Titan at half the price or lower. They also have built in downsampling for up to 5k resolutions, support for some method of voxel based global illumination, and a new aa method, MFAA, which is finally a new aa method that isn't post processing and give 4x msaa results at the cost of 2x msaa performance hit.
Here are some reviews with benchmarks
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_980/
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_970_SC_ACX_Cooler/Still on the fence about picking up the 970 though.
-
I just got prompted to update my driver due to the new release and got slapped with a black screen, had to hard-reset my PC as a last ditch effort. Fucking scary. Everything seems cool tho.
Alas I bought an Alienware X51 which has like a 240 Watt power supply, so I am completely fucked out of graphic card upgrading.
-
Life has been hectic and I'm only now catching up to all of the TGS news(Only saw the big FF XV trailer and saw a few headlines) and I have to say TGS actually didn't suck this year and it isn't even over yet. From what I've seen it doesn't seem likely we're getting more P5 news beyond the small anime teaser we've seen(but who knows Atlus presentation is on Saturday) so that's a bit disappointing but in general this TGS seems to be pretty exciting and hits way closer to what I like than what E3 and Gamescom brought us.
But maybe it's also just that it's better than the last 2 TGS years which have been just awful so maybe that makes this one seem so much better without it being actually exceptional :P.
-
Any chance we will get a screenshot of KH3 ?
-
Wait till ps5, then it might come out.
-
Good news everyone, now that Tetsuya Nomura is taking full time responsibility for Kingdom Hearts 3, it will be announced that there is no news for Kingdom Hearts for twice as long as when he was working on two projects
-
Kingdom Hearts III for ps5, along with The Last Guardian and Beyond Good & Evil 2.
-
@The:

Now you're really being optimistic.
-
The new 3DS is coming out in Japan soon, and to keep up the tradition, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be delayed in favor of a new game for the system.
-

I think it's more a case of Nomura being too absorbed with FFXV on the side.
The belt quota in the recent KH games wasn't high enough. That guy has to focus and get enough belts into KH3. -
Oh yeah, key blades with belts confirmed.

Steam's store got an update. Everything is blue now but the biggest thing is that they added "curators", which are groups you can subscribe to that will recommend games. You can now filter early access games from showing up too.
-
Yeah, I looked through all 15 games in my "recommended" queue. The first couple interested me a bit, but after that it pretty much dropped off. Of course, Steam directly tells you that the games at the end of the queue are only there because they are popular on Steam right now. Sorry Valve, you're never gonna make me believe Dota 2 belongs in any recommended list supposedly tailored to me.
All I really want right now is for Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube to get its Steam Workshop support, but unfortunately it's looking like that's gonna be delayed another month.
sigh
-
Blizzard's next MMO that has been in development for at least 7 years, Titan, has been cancelled.
Enjoy another 10 years of WoW guys!
-
If it lasts that long. I think subscriptions have been getting lower and lower over the last few years. And no mmo since WoW has really been anything most than a distraction for most people. You'd think eventually people would get sick of playing the same game for a decade regardless of how much new content is added.
-

I'm digging the new look actually.
Also I like that you can filter out the Early Access stuff - I'm giving early access a miss for now too many people doing it with poor results.
