Nah, sounds more like, he's willing to gamble his life, but first we have to make sure we don't lose the dice (or cards if you will) first.
Otherwise there's no gamble to be made.Meaning, something is a piece to a chess here, and it's at the stake. Whether it be Doflamingo, Straw Hat, or something else, we don't know. Fujitora doesn't want to lose that "piece". Or else, there's no game to begin with.
Since Doflamingo is a key 'piece' to his disbanding the Shichibukai he is willing to gamble his life for it. Ok, thank you.
I don't think she's garbage. There are women characters who can fight but why compare them to Rebecca? We shouldn't be able to do it just because she's a character, unique. We watched her past multiple times so far and It's greatly plausible in her situation she panicked and lost her calm. She wasn't meant to be a fighter to begin with. It's hard-wired. Some people are fight what comes with it. Others avoid it. And not being a fighter in her core she tried her best but when faced with Diamante her pressure was to much and she flicked. It's not an excuse for her It's how she is. It's better written this way as a character in my point of view. She has time to catch her breath now and may help his father defeat Diamante anyhow.
