Heh heh Alluka's got some really nice toys.
Hiatus x Hiatus III: Goodnight, Sweet Princes

I agree about the underlings, though. They should definitely be giving Ging a little more scrutiny. But, if the money really is linked to his ability, then I'm sure he would just lie about it as necessary if probed.
Even if he lies the fact that its possible that maybe by taking the money they've just fullfilled a nen condition where they can become his slaves should be informing a lot of their suspicions, not just, he looks like an untrustworthy person.
Although, can you lie when having someone complete your condition? I remember Bomber guy saying you can't or was that how he restricted himself and does the level of restriction inform the power of the ability?
So I'm thinking Alluka was probably stolen or salvaged when either of Killua's parents went on a mission to one of the survivors of the Dark Continent(most likely the mom).
-
@MajinA: Well, when you show someone who appears to be just a talented layman using a very medically-oriented ability that was invented by a guy learning medicine, it makes said medical knowledge seem pretty underwhelming.
@kevo_k: Yes, it has been said that the higher the restriction, the more of a boost it gives to the restricted ability. Who knows if, or how much, honesty plays into the whole bargain? All I'm saying is that, even from this chapter, we shouldn't rule out the possibility that this money deal plays into Ging's nen ability. The characters are sort of asking about it, and he is sort of being a little circuitous in his explanation.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Heh heh Alluka's got some really nice toys.
LOL I wonder if the only reason they could really do that is because he's married to Takeuchi.
-
I don't know, I personally apreciated the way it was done instead of the typical-character explains his own abilities routine.
-
The theory that Golem is Gyro is still up, right?
-
I hadn't noticed it in the manga, but Silva has a really poor taste for decoration.
-
ging was totally a monster
nice chapter
-
I like Ging's ability it strikes a nice balance of being pretty damn strong ability but not ridiculously OP. Togashi is pretty good at putting limits on his strong characters, something Kubo should really learn to do. Having to tank a bunch of strike attacks can't be fun for him though.
Ging's explanation did make me like Leorio's ability a lot more, I was kind of worried that it was just of copy of that boxer guy from Greed island but it's much more interesting than that, with the stealthy En functionality.
Ging surely has an ulterior motive with the whole money thing. Maybe it's just to lock everyone in a contractual agreement or something.
-
I guess it wasn't his nen ability he was just fooling around and doing some shit
-
Aside from the fact Ging has made a big deal about it for 4 chapters now so it's very likely pretty important?
He's spent about as much time setting up this group condition of him being No. 2 as he did explaining Alluka's hax ability.
That was the worst example you could have chosen, because in the end all the explanation of Allukas ability amounted to nothing.
And what I wanted to say was not against the "money" theory in general, but then adding Nidhoeggrs theory of the money just being a first phase for a trust based condition and then speculating about Parison having fullfilled it or not.
-
The first half of the chapter was great; the second half was just tedious to read.
Not only can Ging outdo you in your greatest skill/talent, he can even understand the concept of your ability and imitate it. That's also not even his actual nen ability.
I know Ging one of the top 5 nen user. So, him being hax is expected.
But I didn't like the fact that he use Leorio's ability. At least, let Leorio showcase his own ability! -

-

I never said that.Though considering Ging's strength, he obviously outclass Leorio in terms of nen. I have been looking forward to seeing Leorio's ability for many many years now. I would have liked to see him using his own ability first before Ging went and imitate it. I hope so but it seem unlikely.
-
I didn't like that Ging could use Leorio's abilities, but I did like that it gave some insight into exactly why Leorio has such abilities. And yeah, it might just be Gin overthinking it and giving Leorio too much credit, but it's nice to think that Leorio didn't just develop his Nen to punch things. However little we get to see of him, Leorio remains one of my favorite characters because of his motivations. I do hope we get to see him using his abilities through the coming arc at some point, just to show that Ging's doing it wrong!
So yeah… maybe it's meant to give us a bad taste that someone like Ging is using Leorio's abilities to beat up on others?
-
I think it's fine to allow Ging the ability to understand how other people's striking abilities work. It goes in line with Netero's previous statement to Biscuit that Ging is "one of the top five nen users in the world" and being able to understand hatsu and how other people use it makes sense.
Now to wait and see what his actual ability is
-
That was the worst example you could have chosen, because in the end all the explanation of Allukas ability amounted to nothing.
During the hiatus, you had a valid point. Now? Not so much.
- They're going to a continent full of AI like creatures. Those same rules and side effects might just come fast and furious… and a Killua in the way.
2)It wasn't for nothing. It set costs, limits and risks for anyone else to keep Alluka from being completely broken (and even then she can't heal Gon completely) ... and it makes Killua just as much a target as his sister. Now that Illumi knows he can break the ability, getting them both will be his future objective.
-
I actually wonder what is up with the Zoldyck's in general. I eman, we always get hints dropped that there is more to come but it always gets strangely sidelined. I don't want another "Killua family problems" arc though, despite seeign all of the Zoldycks fight on full power being interesting.

Oh yeah, I really want to see what Kikyo is like when she fights. She's the only one not born from the Zoldyck line so she probably isn't as naturally talented as the rest of them. She's still gotta be strong though, right?
-
Watch Togashi troll everyone when he reveals that Ging's nen is the Spirit Gun.
-
That would be pretty lame. But still better than copying other people ability.
-

Her design is intriguing and she managed to marry into the Zoldyck family after all… You must be strong if you can impress Silva and make him fall for you...
Also, me and a friends recently thought of a wonderful crossover - Zoldyck Souls:
Silva = Gwyn/Artorias?
Kikyo = Gwynevere
Illumi = Solaire
Kalluto = Gwyndolin
Milluki = Smough
Alluka = Priscilla
Killua = Chosen Undead Hero
Zeno = Gwyn/Ornstein?
Maha = Furtive Pygmy/Everlasting Dragon
Zzigg = ???
Mike = SifI need to finds a talented artist to request such a picture.

I'd both love and hate this. Ging is Not-Yusuke in adult form anyway.
-
Spirit gun in another form
we see the shotgun teleportation punch.
will just wait from the revelation of his skills
-
Now we get to see a copy ninj..äh I mean hunter done right, instead of spamming same things over and over.
-
I liked the chapter. I enjoy it when HXH starts explaining things like this. I thought the vase stuff in Yorkshin was really cool. Nice to see Leorio's ability be explained a bit more. I liked the sonar.

-
@FKM:
from what i understand, he is just a fast learner, "that" isnt his hatsu.
Yeah I know it wasn't his ability I just thought the "copying nen abilities" part was though. But its even cooler to know he can just learn to use others techniques by getting hit with it once and has another ability we haven't seen yet.
Great chapter by the way lots of good action and some endearing emotional content between Ging and some of the DC crew. Sure it means the auxiliary has a higher chance of dying now that we have a reason to like them but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
While we're here to the anime viewers anyone catch that foreshadowing to Alluka's true nature in the new episode? "That thing is not from here" and the rest of related lines. It wasn't nice of Killua's dad to say but the people who think she's from the DC just got another piece of evidence in their favor.

Will do.
When did this happen? :/
When Togashi announced he would return, somewhere in the last HxH thread.
-
Has it ever been confirmed what gender Alluka is?
having recently watched the latest episode, Killua address' Alluka as female. -
Will do.

Was the avatar wager there the whole time? I don't remember that.

16 chars of it was.
Oh no.
On a different note, what are the chances of the 2011 anime coming to America? I think Viz released the old series, but I don't know how well it did or if they'd be ready to release the new one. How is it with the rights? Could Funimation release it or are the rights still with Viz, making them the only ones able to release the series?

Check out Mr Toto's and Foreva's posts, they're interesting.

The second half was chore to go through.
Dat Ging though. He has such a great mastery and control of nen that he can easily emulate enhancer and emission abilities. It's certainly OP as expected of a top 5 nen user, but still nothing completely insane.
-
Someone should put Leorio and Kurapika in this gif but instead of "Neeeerd!" it should say "Parenthoooood!" -
Didn't seem like Ging revealed his Hatsu since he basically told Pariston that he had to try a little harder than that to Reveal Ging's power.
-
That's pretty much the case, yeah. Also remember that hatsu are only at their fullest potential when you use something personalized to who you are; a hatsu that's just an imitation of someone else's won't nearly be as strong in most cases
-
I miss Wing and Zushi.
-
I´ll see your Wing and raise you a Biscuit.

What if imitating other is part of your personality :ninja:
-

That's why I say usually it doesn't work.
But then you have specialist abilities like Chrollo and Leol so yep
-
The difference is that those two aren´t imitating others Hatsu process, they are directly stealing it.
I was also confused by the "when i get hit by a physical attack" line. Made it seem like it was actually an ability instead of Ging just figuring it out and copying it.
-
I would argue that Leol is kinda that type of person who would rip off shit if it was the easier thing to do. More difficult to make the case for Chrollo other than that he's the leader of a group of thieves, but whatevs. But yeah like specialist abilities often go in line with something with the user's personality or traits. Komugi got super good at gungi, meleoron got invisibility powers, Pitou got toy fixing and manipulating things, and Kurapika became an Uchiha before the Uchiha existed
-
I was also confused by the "when i get hit by a physical attack" line. Made it seem like it was actually an ability instead of Ging just figuring it out and copying it.
It's probably not a condition in the strict sense. He just has to get a "feel" of the ability to mimic it perfectly. Without this it'll probably take weeks of trial and error to get the same level of proficiency. But when he gets hit it's an instant "aha! got it!" moment.
That's how I'll interpret it for time being, at least.
-
That's probably the case, yeah. He was kinda deducing it as he went along, and you see that because he was trying out things like percussion techniques doctors would use.
-
That's all well and good. It makes a lot of sense, and it makes Ging look like a pretty quick learner. Genius characters get on my nerves, though. There has to be some trick to his quick mastery of all things. I'm suspecting that there is something weird/wrong with him and Gon, genetically, because of their relationship to Don and his excursion(s) into the Dark Continent.
And it bothers me that Ging should understand exactly what the reverberating pulses should feel like from two bodies on the far side of a wall. Why should he be able to understand that sort of thing so quickly? It takes computers to analyze that information and turn it into actual images that you can see on medical devices.
OK, he gets a "feel" for it. But still.

In theory you'd think that if it's as he thinks Leorio's thought process works, then using the aura as ripples (lol), it'd be kinda like using En but using the ripples (I'm pretty sure Jonathan used this against Jack the Ripper) to get a sense of where the opponent is.
Long story short, Leorio is actually a Hamon user.
-
Now that you mention it, isn't that exactly how Jonathan won that little fight with Jack?
Aura Overdrive! As they say in the north, Boreas made the Hunters.
-
It just turns out that Leorio's aura is made of sweet, sweet wine
-
Ging's ability to get a grasp on strike type abilities once being hit seems pretty close to Knuckles ability to estimate aura and express it in numbers on sight.
Considering that the theory on emission and reinforcement nen is somewhat simple(pure aura manipulation) compared to transformation, materialization(we don't know enough about manipulation yet) it doesn't feel overboard to me.I would call foul on Ging being able to imitate Killua's electricity or Kurapika's chain. I mean those are abilities born out of insane familiarity with the respective hatsu(Killua knowing exactly everything about the sensation of electricity, Kurapika's chain training).
Whereas emission and reinforcement all follow rather similar application rules.Also rereading the election stuff it really feels like it's pretty much a given that Nanika is one of the Ai creatures. At that point should we start considering her hax abilities outside of nen? It always felt like her abilities kind of made sense in the context of nen but they also kind of didn't. Like all the rules and effects could maybe be justified but what always was odd was that she got her ability in the first place. There was no real connection to an awakening. Neon had that show that inspired her and Komugi lived Gungi.
-
I wouldn't say that I'm calling foul just yet. But I am starting to really want to see Pariston wipe that smug grin off of Ging's face.
