There's still a long road ahead for the scientists, but one woman was completely cured of her terminal blood cancer after receiving one bigass dose (enough to vaccinate 10 million people) of the measles vaccine intravenously. From almost dead to remission in one friggen go. This is incredible news on the cancer fight front. The other person who they also conducted this trial on didn't go into remission, however, so there's still a lot to perfect. If they're able to nail down what type of cancer this will be effective on, so many lives could be saved. I know someone who lost a 7 year battle with such cancer >_<
I'm interested to see how the anti-vacc movement will take this, especially if they discover that other anti-viral vaccines produce the same results with other cancers (scientists have been studying the possible anti-cancer effects of the measles vaccine for some time now, but maybe now other ones will be studied more extensively with other kinds of cancer). She received enough dose to cover 10 million people and it cured her cancer, is one dose to a single person REALLY going to have such a significant effect that it's worth the risk of getting the disease >__> yeah, don't think so.
