Thanks for updating the list.
Ha this series is not ending in 50 chapters, at least I don't think so. You don't set something up so huge just to end it quickly.
Yu Yu Hakusho…

Yu Yu Hakusho…
anyone know Togashi money situation is like, does he needed the money.
The dude is set. On top of his own success he's got SailorMoon money to live off of too.
Oh my, a Hunter x Hunter sequel so soon. Or maybe it will be a spin-off dedicated to some side character like Leorio or Kurapica.
Oh the possibilities.
Togashi usually writes chapter in tens so as to fit the standard volume size. And since there are ~30 weeks to the beginning of the next publishing year, I will say Togashi will give his best till he can hold a pen no more (because it gets in the way of the controller) and writes 30 chapters.

Haven't you ever read YuYu Hakusho? It teased us with a huge arc that was pretty much going to be the best one in the entire series for around ten chapters or so… and then just ended because Togashi got lazy and didn't want to write it anymore.
That's bound to happen to HxH as well. In fact, it already happened to an extent with the election arc.
Yeah. Still pissed about YYH.. 'twas my childhood favorite. Which is why I'm half-expecting HxH to end at any given moment (though I guess with long ass hiatuses, people still buying your books and enjoying the series, there'd be no need to end your series) but hey good news! Maybe his wife's remake motivated him.. but who cares.
ANYways put me down for 21 chapters before his next hiatus!!
Yeah, I'd be extremely surprised if Togashi doesn't reenact YYH's ending scenario again, considering his laughably lousy publication schedule of a couple of months working - 2 years resting. He'll probably build up the best and most exciting arc ever and then Gon will get like an anemia or a heat stroke or something and pass out, and when he wakes up everything will be settled.
Anyways, I say 20-25 chapters before he goes back to hardcore videogame grinding.
21 chapters .
how many chapters did he release the last time after his longest hiatus, didn't he do like fifty chapters?
Since this hiatus has been pretty long, I'll bet 30, although I'm being generous
The broken record is on… Hopefully, it will stop in June when the first chapter is out.
I would like to discuss HxH not read for the 1000th time the same discussion about Togashi's work ethics.
About the length prediction, I'm quite sure that he doesn't really resume a weekly schedule but that instead they waited for a batch of chapters to be more or less ready to be published.
That's why I'm confident that we can have at least 3 volumes of chapters.
I hope Togashi rewrites the last YYH arc one day… after finishing HxH...
Also, pigs will learn how to fly.
Thanks for updating the list.
Yu Yu Hakusho…
The final arc of YYH wasn't set up like the Dark Continent Arc has been set up and WSJ didn't cooperate with Togashi back then. They fully cooperate with him now

He did 30. That's the longest serialization we've had since HXH adopted a clear hiatus/brief-run-of-serialization publishing model following the long hiatus that began with chapter 260
Yeah, it was set up better.
On the other hand, why should he end it? He rarely works on it and it's just some extra cash for scribbles every once in a while.
And it fills up time between Dragon Quest releases.
I think I'll go with 45 chapters.
I'm really happy for this announcement. Hope those chapters focus immediately on Netero Jr, his group and the dark continent.
I hope Togashi will go to the end of the series without any more hiatuses, but if I have to be realistic I'm saying 30 chapters (it's gotta be a multiple of 10 to be able to collect them in tankobons, no tankobon = no money)
22. there. I'll give him some rescpect with 2 more than 20
It'll be a multiple of 10 chapters, so that he can have a new volume printed. And it HAS been a two year hiatus… so I'm going to guess 20 chapters, 2 of them scribbly.
30 at the outside uber optimistic, but in that case we get a lot more scribbles.
I don't want to wait till June :(
People tend to forget the true final arc of YuYu Hakusho was going to reveal that Enma was the main villian (Probably even Koenma, but without the development and plotwist, that one wouldn't made sense) and behind everything bad that has ever happened.

9 and I don't want to post more than that but 16 characters.

Wait, what? Never heard of this, but then again I read the manga when I was, like, 14, so there's that. Does this revelation come from an interview or what? And what did change Togashi's mind, his editor or his laziness?
A quadrillion chapters
…Oh no, wait, I'm sorry. That's just my imagining of what Togashi's personal hell will be.

I require more information about this as well.
I'm guessing 26 chapters. Half a years content worth to milk for a special OVA set for a couple years.
Also, holy fucking shit. This week's episode has been the best one yet. Holy Netero.
ROSE BOOOOOOOOOOMB. Man I was so waiting for this, amazing climax. I knew the result of the battle beforehand, but still… DAMN THIS IS SO GOOD.

Glad to know. Otherwise I would've ended up paying way too much for importing all volumes.

after the Demon World Tournament, there are a few chapters in which we see what the main characters are doing with their lives. In one of those, in like a page or so, it is explained that Enma was the big bad boss behind everything.
EDIT: that's the page we're talking about

HxH chapters 341 to 350 will be a novel that details the amazing chronicles of Gon venturing into the Dark Continent and then defeating Gyro, Killua resolving his family issues, Kurapica hunting successfully for the Spiders and Leorio jerking off in his doctor's office. It will end with a scribbled doublespread showing off their planned final outfits. After that we will get a single page where Togashi thanks us for our patience with his masterpiece, beautifully illustrated by a giant, photorealistic middlefinger.
Btw, HxH 126 was pretty damn good.
Oh man. I'd given up hope on this shit so long ago.
I can't shake off ironproof feeling that this announcement pic rehashes Gon from "hiatus end" from around 5 years ago. The one where behind Gon is visibly sad Killua in equally watercolour-watered brushpen colouring with light blue hair and on the background between them (I think in the space between thir knees) sits Pitou with magenta skin, cyan hair and whole orange eyes. Can't get to finding it right now, though I will try later.
found it while taking a pause from typing - http://www.batoto.net/read/_/20903/hunter-x-hunter_ch271_by_binktopia
Don't know how to take it - wether Togashi doesn't care for small fry like announcement until actual first chapter with cover illustration (which may be a hint on what kind of content first setup chapters will be and how long it will last), or he is polishing his work ethic to manage two tankobons worth of work without scribbles in Hyperbolic Time Chamber and can't afford doing little picture.
@Devil:
All the episodes so far have looked fantastic, I wouldn't worry too much.
To me, they showed using low budget tactics recently. After all the high quality such parts, even if not for long, capture attention on spot. Like when a high quality mug shot or emotional part with great transition of manga possibilities happens. Despite episodes being the way they are, so to say - with lots of slow motions and inner dialogue and narrator's voice, since the start of this invasion part we got a lot of moments with visibly cheapened quality. Pitou falling and observing the palace - her forehead hairline is noticably low-quality, especially jarring when quality just happened. Several moments with Yupi, especially when he went centaur featured low budget. In slow paced moment such thing go especially bright. A lot of stock moments rehashing, noticable in Pitou reacting to Pouf's decisions, only in those frames with Gon on the right when she is looking at him. Low detalization on her there, despite her not moving. And overall through several episodes around that one. Killua and Palm was prolonged, yet featured a lot of staples of low cost fighting. Kings fucking aura is no longer fluid, instead CG aura layer cutout with sharp border is put under him. When pampered with high quality over the course of anime, such parts are stark in the eyes. Especially since I feel feelings towards Pitou so I'm especially interested in scenes with her, and so I'm biased. Not to mention strange pacing - sometimes it felt like events could be done faster (and in this, closer to the original), instead it felt stretched with no good reason. Not for suspense and faithfullness to the manga, but to make moments last longer to fill the episode. Noticable in second part of Youpi fight. Despite the action parts being fast and taking, what, 10 minutes or so (30 for the moment Pouf goes to the king I think)? With 40 minutes for the whole invasion until Gon and Pitou depart. So perhaps instead of dragonballz'ing the action it could've been done pricier, yet faster. Then again, industry and stuff. But they are making an adaptation to finite material, not an ongoing…
You guys probably discussed it to holes when it started showing, so sorry for scrutinizing it again. Can't find time to read the last pages right now.
Have yet to watch the new one, but I had and have great faith in it.
I think in order to fix the ending of YUuYu Hakusho the anime actually skipped like 4 chapters entirely. They just did the final tournament then went to the afterward and avoided the rushed nonsense in the middle entirely, and then focused on the characters instead.
I might be wrong, its been years since I saw it the once. But I do remember being thrown by the manga having a tiny bit more story.
Also. Gotta love this two page spread in the final chapter.l
Nice idea, awful execution.
The latest episode was just perfect.
That's the kind of moment where I just forgive every hiatus he had when doing the last part of the ant arc. If they were the price to pay for that moment, it was definitely worth it to me.
I'll probably avoid this topic until June. The hiatus discussions are always the same.
I knew it'd be back when the anime finally caught up!
I'm going to be bold and call 30 chapters for the newest run. I bet Togashi has been working and planning the story since the last break. Oh man I'm excited

While what we ended up getting wasn't as good as it seemed like it was going to be, I actually didn't think the arc was that promising from the very start. The demon world, which had previously been compared to an endless series of basements with each floor worse than the last, turns out to be actually really simple and relatively uninteresting. Billions of monsters full of malevolence and might, and somehow 3 guys are ruling almost everything. Oh, and the power inflation, which was already pretty bad, became absolutely insane. Our heroes (and a handful of other demons) can just suddenly become orders of magnitude stronger after normal training for several months. That spits so hard in the face of every single antagonist that spent decades or centuries accumulating might only to be outdone because apparently our heroes have the genetic material of gods.
It's hard for me to believe HXH is returning, so in order to familiarize myself with this idea, I've taken to thinking of Togashi as taking a hiatus from hiatus.
Episode 126 was amazing, I can't give enough credit to Madhouse, the pacing, the art, the rose, all perfect!
And the manga is coming back! Today has been a great day for HXH fans, and I say about 40 chapters, just because why not.
I feel I have to re-read this manga its been so long.
Weird feelings about more HunterXHunter. Like hooking up with a bad news ex-girlfriend knowing she'll leave me again one day but she's so good to me when we're together I almost don't care.
I predict 33 chapters.

That's pretty nice . LOL @ Zoro's Moss head.
So this is the first time I've dealt with a break in the manga for it to return… I don't know how to feel with all I've heard though... maybe I should be excited?

Needs more Brook, otherwise that's pretty neat!

Don't get too excited, he'll probably release a few chapters then get on another hiatus. :(

I voted 10 chapters a few pages back.
Those ancient japan art stills felt out of place and yeah the pacing has some issues. It's not bad, unlike Toei's stuff.
Excellent fight nevertheless.
Hmm these bets. Was kinda hoping someone would bet 0, 1 or continues weekly forever.
0 is the ultimate troll, he never returns from hiatus.
1 would be like pulling a YYH.
actual weekly chapters would destroy everyone's expectations.
I'm happy Hunter is coming back. So now I can drink all the delicious nerd rage tears when it goes back on hiatus. I'm betting 30 chapters.
That's like the best preview one can ever get, hell it's the best thing ever.
It even tops scribble Gon.
Also i like how the Gon in there feels like the editors trying to reassure people.
http://thumbnails112.imagebam.com/32239/2e0f0d322387020.jpg
This is the preview.
In some cultures, middle finger is a sign of love. Do you feel the love Togashi replies with to all your hopes of him working during the hiatus?
This is the preview, these are the BEST images they could use to hype the fans up.
Every time Togashi comes back from the hiatus, his standards get lower and lower. He should just Yu Yu the ending out of this and fuck off back to Dragon Quest permanently because he clearly does NOT give any fucks at this point.

I swear to God, if we immediately start with scribbles from chapter one, I'm gonna laugh my ass off.
