Yeah, next chapter it will be probably Geera vs Jaleco and Hauser vs Gil, and seeing the name of the next chapter it will be quite an one-sided battle and Gowther will come to save the day. Anyway I knew Hauser would turns himself agains Dreyfus but not that soon, he is the best knight here.
By the way, Poor Oslo.

I fucking love Diane. Strong female characters are generally written as these generic tough bitches that never actually do anything. Diane is a kickass warrior that gets shit done who also happens to want to be treated like a girl and its great. Because women are different and complicated like men are and it's nice to see that Nakaba knows this.
-
I see the One Piece comparison coming up for the second week in a row, and I feel it's a bit unfair. A series in its 67th chapter with a supposedly planed lifespan of 40 volumes TOPS vs. a series in its 738th chapter with a lifespan of 100 volumes AT THE VERY VERY VERY LEAST. Of course the first has a freshness that the latter has lost with time, but that is 100% natural. So, yeah, kind of an unfair comparison (One Piece during the Arlong Park was incredibly fresh and exciting too).
That being said. . .holy shit is this series fucking awesome. All things considered, this is a HUGE step up from Kongoh Banchou, and that was already a very good series. This Nakaba guy knows his shit and he knows it well.
Great chapter! Diane ftw.
-
All things considered, this is a HUGE step up from Kongoh Banchou, and that was already a very good series.
One problem I had with Kongoh Banchou was that plot twists often felt like complete ass pulls. Which wasn't that big of a deal because it fit the ridiculous tone of the series but the storytelling in Nanatsu no Taizai feels way more organic.
-
Kongoh Banchoh was supposed to be manly over the top action (it was Toriko done right basically), this series is Nakaba being more ambitious and writing a more coherent and grand narrative and so far he's been doing a fantastic job.

[Random baseless speculation]I wonder if Geera and Hauser are going to join King Arthur's group[/Random baseless speculation]

I enjoy this manga a lot but the holy knight's motivation seems stupid so far. I hope it's revealed to be more than what we know.
-
Seeing Diane take all that damage breaks my heart. I feel like her character is putting in the most effort often and struggling the most. Managing to put up a fight against all those Holy Knights and still protecting an innocent child… I'm truly impressed. Heartbroken but impressed nonetheless.
-

Yes it's stupid. Even so, the plot is not, since it could be about some stupid knights that aiming a stupid purpose released a non stupid, huge power and menace to the kingdom, the demon clan. Let me throw this prediction, once the seal is broken, a Demon immensely powerful will smash Helbram or Hendricksen like if it were just an annoying fly. Good, ins't it?
-
Diana can't die yet because we don't know what her sin of Greed was, right guys?
She is greedy for Meliodas, no? :P
One Piece's strongest point is that Oda had a lot of years to build a huge world with all its folklore, power struggles and characters. It's biggest problem is that Oda has issues addressing all the open fronts, and when some could be expecting some plot development all we got is evasives and onevsone fights. Seven Deadly Sins is young and very consistent since it has less elements to deal with.
To put it simply, Seven Deadly Sins is more straightforward and that works better with a shonen formula, One Piece attempted to tell a complex story but is so far stuck by the very same shonen formula.

Alain Chabat resumed perfectly evil guys motivations in an old
: Mais pourquoi est il aussi méchant ? PARCE QUE ! -
Diane's envy is that she wants to be small.:ninja:

But seriously, in this manga's case, I hope it's something a little more contrasted than that.

How Hauser's character conviction was strong enough for him to betray his organization, I will not understand. He has been getting a lot of panel time in the recent chapters, all about Diane. Sure they had some fun in the tournament but as a reader I do not feel that his connection to Diane was remotely strong enough for this sort of action. I do like the progression of a couple holy knights not being completely oblivious to their deeds but the last page with Jeera and Hauser helping Diane felt kind of forced.

Absolutely not. Hauser not only saw the kindness of the Sins through Diane, but he also witnessed how rotten some of his own HK comrades can be, that will take innocent lives for the sake of defeating their enemies if it's necessary. Between this and that and the most recent events, his action is justified.
And same goes for Geera. Her reason for drinking the Demon Blood was so she could protect her little brother. Just recently she was given a memento of her father and slowly began to question Helbram's actions. And now she herself saw how one of the framed criminals that she was told were supposed to overthrow the kingdom saved the life of the only family she has. Her decision to side with Hauser and face off Dreyfus is also justified.
All the hints leading to this were thrown as the plot progressed.

Basically, what TLC says:
@Thousand:
Kongoh Banchoh was supposed to be manly over the top action (it was Toriko done right basically), this series is Nakaba being more ambitious and writing a more coherent and grand narrative and so far he's been doing a fantastic job.
The writing in KB was less than stelar, and the final act wasn't anything to write home about. . .that is, before the fucking Godzilla vs. Godzilla fight, of course.
But one thing that manga had and it hasn't been replicated yet: Hikyo Banchou, aka Best Banchou. No, Ban is not even on the same league as him (yet).
Nakaba was so dead set on making Hikyo stupidly, impossibly likable in the most Poochie way ever conceived. . .and it worked. I consider that character a freaking miracle without equal.
One Piece's strongest point is that Oda had a lot of years to build a huge world with all its folklore, power struggles and characters. I don't think plot developmet is One Piece's biggest issue. Oda DOES adress the plot points that he slowly sets up. Some of them get their payback much later in the future, but they get it. Also, lately if there's something totally lacking in OP is 1vs1 fights to the point that even those who don't read it for the fights are actually itching for some fisticuffs.
If anything, One Piece is simply less fresh. After Alabasta, Skypiea, Water 7, Thriller Bark. . .there's a pattern you can follow to correctly guess how an arc will end in terms of good guys vs bad guys and such, so of course with time it has lost a bit of its novelty, but, honestly, is it even possible to avoid that with one of the longest running series with a focused plot, not episodic in nature like Detective Conan and the like? Hard to tell.

Chapter 66.5 is out.
http://www.mangahere.com/manga/nanatsu_no_taizai/c066.5/4.html
It's a Gowther-based side story that focuses more on his peculiar/quirky behavior and further points to him being mechanical(?) in origin, since he appears to never sleep at night, or at least does not require sleep to function, and instead spends the nights reading mushy romance novels (which he attempts to act out lol)

Err…You are kinda late here dude.

Finally caught up on this series, I love it. It's been a long time since I read a series with action that's this good. So far it's been an all around fantastic experience reading this series it just ticks all the right boxes for me.
-
Hmm well seeing as the volumes only have 4-5 chapters, that only averages out to about 160 chapters, which is only a tad bit longer then Kongo Bancho.
Which I still say could have gone on longer but Nakaba is doing a fine job with this series so that's good.

Don't the volumes usually have like 9 chapters?

I misread that.
Hmm, so that brings it up to the 350 range at least.
Interesting.

The art… Its mind blowing.

Chapter 68
This chapter took quite a time.
Heya Dawn Roar. -
Holy shit is this good fun! Mayheeeeeeeeeem!
This is fucking epic.
This manga is seriously going up on my "favorite manga ever" list. I had my doubts on this (imho) sudden and a bit sporadic kingdom invasion, but so far this is shaping up to be the best arc in the series. If the author can keep this level of epicness and raise it little by little, this can get to orgasmic levels.
-
Yes, the art is really good and Threader's design is superb.
-
Threader looks like Ban's long lost brother.
And we still have Arthur and Meliodas going wild in the city, next chapters are going to be an adrenaline rush.
-
-
Someone on Batoto pointed out that "MAKEUP!" is like a Sailor Moon reference. Wow.
-
Tuxedo Mask? Never seen Sailor Moon, but that's what a quick google search tells me. Apparently he said it in Japanese though (Kamen), whereas here it was written in English. Echoing Uki above, I'm liking Threader's design. I almost want to skim the last chapter to see if he was sprinkled in the background somewhere. Doubtful though.

Someone at Batoto found this on page 13th.
Now we really know why Threader is mad, they scared his date XD
-
!
Now no one can stop it.
-
Hahahaha, but Tuxedo Mask was a male character, not one of the Sailor Moon…ers?
-
Hahahaha, but Tuxedo Mask was a male character, not one of the Sailor Moon…ers?
Well, technically, he was the representant of Earth (something about crystals or whatever), making him a sort of "Sailor Earth".
-
Those images gonna haunt me for a long time.
-
I hope Geera and Hauser make it out of this alive. Wind and Explosions are my favorite elements.
-
Anybody else think the title did not fit the content of the chapter? Reading the title and going into the chapter, I was expecting Hauser and Geera to be outclassed by their opponents.
-

The pic of the reference to Sailor Moon posted in Batoto is this:

If Threader's secret identity is to be a housewife… it'll be just absolutely great!!!
-
Ok, definitely NOT the best way to start a chapter. . .creeeeepy.
Now, to forget about that and onwards to the chapter! Enjoy!
Ok, finished it. Pretty good stuff as usual, though I'd like to see if the usual crowd of "One Piece is too sexist" with certain scenes in this chapter. Particularly the shameful cover page and the last page. . .
-
Was a good chapter….except what the hell Nakaba ? What's with that title page ? -_-
-
Gowther is quickly becoming my favourite sin, his deadpan face is so hilarious and that laugh.
Also was the cover page really that bad? It's still kinda tame, I mean this is a series where the main character has been groping the female lead from chapter 1.
-
Geera = Guila
Everything I know is wrong.
The question of "what is Gowther?" gets more evidence to the "not-human" category.
-
Slowly but surely this manga is turning into something great. And I like it.
-
While the cover page was dumb, it didn't surprise me. Fanservice is the only real issue I have with the series (fucking hell Melodias is creepy), but it thankfully isn't as bad, or forced, as Fairy Tail. It honestly feels kind of shoehorned in as an afterthought, and is balanced by an impressive roster of female fighters-including a knight fighting in actual armor!
Anyway, I like Threader a lot. He's like a not-terrible Lucchi.
-
You know, first page aside, I was also refering to this scene. Money's on, had it been Hauser the one about to be pierced, that scene wouldn't have happened.
Yet, it's true that Nakaba is a lot more unrelenting on dealing punishment to his female characters than most mangaka out there, and they're legitimately badass on their own, but precisely because of that, the demon that was Geera when he trounced 3 Sins at the same time without any remorse, I don't think she's a character that needs this kind of damsel-like-rescue scene.
Oh, and Jericho didn't receive the most dignified-woman empowering scene either. . .
(Someone has to bitch about this manga every once in a while, otherwise we'll get too complacent. . .).
BTW, I never got into Gowther that much, but this chapter definitely started to change that. He was both cool and somewhat hilarious, so more power to him!
-
To be fair, Jericho is outranked by the other knights she's fighting with.
-

No, I was talking about her "ass in the air" defeated stance, which is even a bit hilarious. . .
-
No, I was talking about her "ass in the air" defeated stance, which is even a bit hilarious. . .
That's not that bad. If this was Fairy Tail it would've been from the other angle. It would be a upskirt pov type of shot.
-

I hadn't actually noticed that.
