And you want him to go down on the second New World Island? Beaten by… whom exactly?
You missed my point dude. What I'm saying is I don't mind seeing an admiral go down as early as now, say Sabo takes down Fuji. I didn't say it's definitely gonna happen. You're rebutting my post because you believe it won't definitely happen. I'm saying that it can happen. Ha! Whatever.
And the reason Burgess didn't used his shockwave on Sabo while he was jumping towards the fruit was…?
because he can't fly and was probably distracted by the entire ring and water collapsing around him?
you can still take off guard a strong guy you know, see dolfa last chapter as another proof of that
yeah and Wano country maybe Kaido's favourite island
wano is "ancient japan island"..do that isle look like ancient japan to you?
And the reason Burgess didn't used his shockwave on Sabo while he was jumping towards the fruit was…?
So far he has only used it when he had ground beneath his feet.
He has backstory, yes, but that does not exactly help the current situation.
Seriously. Why suddenly both Burgess and Diamante are incapable of doing anything as soon as Sabo goes for the fruit?
Well they did lose their footing and started to fall down. He was left on that pillar in the middle.
But I'd be lying if I said I thought they were just going to fall down. Especially Diamante, since we see later he can make himself flutter as well.
The art in this arc has been top draw.
And here we go I wanna go read the mera mera thread now, take this all of you ''sanji will eat the fruit'' . That's all I had to say on this topic.
This was my type of chapter, that would be my top 3 of DR.
Is it just the translation…............or did sabo mean to say that Luffy WAS the man that will become pirate king…............does that mean either a) Sabo thinks someone else will take the title or b) The revolution will put an end to the pirate age and there will be no pirate king................?????? Thoughts????
Haven't read all pages, but Im gonna answer anyway.
My japanese is far from perfect, but I'd translate it as "The Lucy from earlier is man with 400 mil for his head. One day he'll be pirate king, that strawhat Luffy".
(But I suspect it might also mean "he's the guy who always says he will become pirate king" If 'he says' is supposed to be taken from context or something…) Oh well Im not sure about it, but anyway, the only thing that suggest past tense is '
| 最初 | さいしょ |
which im pretty sure refers to Luffy being there earlier
Okay, but EVERYONE lost their footing. Sabo included. And yet he is able to instantly spot the right fish, and get to it, rip open the box, be smug about having the fruit and eat it. The hell were Burgess and Diamante doing during that?
Reading through the thread, amazed to see I am the only one annoyed by the Usopp=Buggy thing.
Since I will be raining on a parade, I will put my rant on a spoiler tag:
! Maybe it's because both characters are important to me (Buggy being my favorite, Usopp being the one next to him), but it really upset me to see Usopp becoming a new Buggy. It is even more terrible thinking that Usopp is one of the main characters while Buggy is a minor villain. Seeing one of the main guys being developed to become an imitation of a minor villain is… I don't know how to put it, but it saddens me.
Even if this is because Oda wants to put them one against the other in the future, it still bugs me that he has to make it this way - by making Usopp become Buggy -, I think it would be much better to see things go Usopp's way for Usopp (through lies and deception) not Buggy's (through dumb luck and misunderstanding).
Oh, well, just a rant. Maybe it's too early to complain and this chapter was so amazing despite that… but, as a I said, I love both characters and it pains me to see both Buggy being imitated like that and Usopp becoming an imitation.
Epic Chapter, my man Sabo of Epicness! Birdcage? Will that mean that everyone in the palace will be trapped and have to defeat Mingo to get out?
Would the bird cage be pica closing every exits in the castle?
For starters? You are assuming that Akainu cannot use Insane Haki.
Yes, Akainu can use good Haki, but Akainu Haki <<< Kuzan Haki, because Magma >>> Ice .. and with this advantage Akanu still fight equal with Kuzan. Kuzan have Insane Haki because he was taught by Monkey D. Garp (Ch. 319). Sabo will have insane Haki because he was taught by Monkey D. Dragon.
Do you guys think sabo infused the hiken with haki?

It's true but I couldn't see that happening in any other way.
I do not expect Dragon to show in this arc. That's too much epicness in an arc already. It's like how Shanks arrived in Marineford. Besides, does not totally makes sense for him to show after sending Sabo. But what I want, if possible, to make an appearance here is either Jack, or the 7th shichibukai.
Okay, but EVERYONE lost their footing. Sabo included. And yet he is able to instantly spot the right fish, and get to it, rip open the box, be smug about having the fruit and eat it. The hell were Burgess and Diamante doing during that?
Well, you know, Sabo was the one who caused it…
The others were caught by surprise, he wasn't because he was simply executing what he planned (even if he planned it one second before). Others were still adapting to the new situtation, while he could move accordingly. That's how surprise effect acts: the victims are caught offguard, the one using it isn't.
I was wrong on Burguess eating the fruit and right on Law savind Doflamingo. You win some, you lose some. And Usopp officially got his followers.
Wait did I miss the bolded part? Law is tied up with kairoseki handcuff and all that was said was the riku sayin ''what kind of body does he have'' or something along these lines. Nothing even suggests that it was law's doing.
Hell it's ever more plausible that it was pica's doing at this point, but now i'm slightly turning towards the fact that it might be part of doflamingo's ability

he was also the only one who know what was about to happen, since he was the cause too.
diamante was out of strenght due to water, burgess was taken by surprise

I think he found mera mera on the second try. In the panel where he jumps on the right fish, we see an opened chest behind his back.
So he was jumping from fish to fish while the others were falling.
From my understanding, after Dragon's Breath, all that remained intact was the pillar in the middle, where he jumped from while others were falling. Then he destroyed it as well with Hiken.

I don't think Sabo lost his footing. If you look at last chapters cliffhanger you can see him standing on a lone pillar. The attack does not target the epicenter of the user.
!
Sabo clearly has his footing.

You are trying too hard. Sabo was already standing on the pillar when the colloseum collapsed: http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/743/19

If I were Sabo and planned to destroy the entire arena, I'd already be geared up that the whole floor is gonna cave in! And obviously planned to take the Mera Mera along with all the ruckus happening.

woop. Yep. that.

Sabo was the one who destroyed the grounding all of them were on, so, it's not surprising that he did not need to adapt to the situation. While others were caught off guard and all they could think off is to find something to stand on and try to save their asses. He could have found the fish by using observation haki, or it was luck that he noticed it…yes simple luck
Diamante was surrounded by water, later on as everything collapsed he was free. Burgess was in no mosition to interfere, he is busy...
everything happened very fast....there was nothing they could have done....especially Diamante who does not have any long range attacks
Meh.
That's exactly how I feel about this chapter. Meh.
Sabo getting the fruit so easily feels both rushed and anti-climactic.
Burgess fails.
Diamante fails.
They haven't even been able to give Sabo significante challange, much less stop him.
Also, weren't devil fruits of all types supposed to be hard to control? As in, it should not be possible for Sabo to pull that attack instantly?
Doflamingo lives with his head chopped off, beating Whitebeards record for ridicioulous endurance, unless he really is a robot.
And how the hell does he talk without lungs?
Also, Sabo being No. 2 in revolutionaries… How exactly do they intend to challange WG with just that?
lol you are quickly falling down the hill with these posts man
I think that happens right before aliens arrive coincidentally to attack everyone and the ghosts of dinosaurs cast spells to summon the transformers and pokemon
Well, we know for a fact that there are aliens and dinosaurs and ghosts in One Piece, DFs already give people magical powers, and Franky is almost a transformer. So just add some animals coming out of toy containers and… Oh wait, we have just had that as well...
Not so far fetched after all. :D
I think that Law's reaction as one meaning : the last time he saw Doffy performing Birdcage, Cora-san disappeared. And he is next. Just assumption of course.
That's very plausible rami
I suspect the "bird cage" refers to Mingo taking control over a new vessel, as mingo being the cage around the vessels souls or something like that. Now with him being beheaded, assuming he can't reattack himself, and thus being forced to switch host.
Just some thought, farfetched but I can't let the vessel comment from earlier chapters go.
Would the bird cage be pica closing every exits in the castle?
lol you are quickly falling down the hill with these posts man
Yeah, I know. How can I not love savior of all, the greatest character ever, Sabo?

That was a mistranslation.
The phrase in Japanese means that DD thinks Luffy has higher potential than Law.
How can a man of ice freeze his brain?
Another unusual thing about doflamingo…
He's talking while beheaded. Talking-- meaning air is being moved from his lungs to his head while disconnected...
If this is really Doflamingo-- as things like the sweat on his head make it seem like always has been-- then either somehow he (or an unknown DF user on his side) are channeling Law's ability somehow, or else it's a Logia effect

Starfishes don't even have lungs, but Pappug can still talk.
Really interesting to see that both of Luffy's brothers ended up being subordinates while the former, with the goal of being the greatest pirate, up to now has been his own boss.

Or he modified his body like Kuma.
He seemed to know a lot about the procedures Kuma went through, back in Marineford.
At first I was really disappointed on how Burgess and Diamant didn't react at all but then I reread chapter and i noticed that when Sabo did his attack last week he destroyed all the ring but his place stayed safe.
we can see here http://readms.com/r/one_piece/744/2337/5 that the center of the ring was not destroyed
we can also see Burgess and diamant losing their balance.
ok now i have no problem with this scene but, I still don't like how the fact that after a lot of chapter in this arc focusing on the mera mera, sabo eat the DF in a litle panel, like the mera mera was nothing more but a detail in this arc, I personally found it very rushed Oda could'have done this in a much much better way.
And about sabo being Nbr 2 of revolutionary, i don't know how to feel, either he is really that strong and i underestimated him, either the revolutionary are not that strong…. and i was disappointed by the fact that the revolutionary army looks like a crew, I was thinking it may be like an actual army (like marine) with generals (who are as strong as admirals) etc etc....
Beside that on usopp side it was expected nothing special.
I loved the end, too bad Oda is taking a break, I really want to see this birdcage.
Also I'm probably one of the few people but I thought Sabo's design was great, one of the bast in the series.
And with this chapter the awful theory of Sunkist eating the fire fruit comes to an end. It shall not be missed.
But now i dread to find out what other stupid thing people will start to latch onto.
Other than that it was fun to see Usopp shine, and it'll be even more fun to see the officers ( and maybe Burgess) deal with the entire rebel army.
And with Doffy i figure his head is simply still attached with strings. Maybe he can use his own body as a puppet too.
And as for the birdcage i assume that this has something to do with Nathan Lane and Robin Williams
I knew Doflamingo was an otaku and a fan of Captain Tsubasa

First things first: a Penguin named 'Camel' and Kuzan getting brainfreeze….......chuckles. OK, moving on. You know, we all thought that DD was screwed, but we forget he has his position and our wariness oh him for a reason. Even when the shit is hitting the fan, he still is resourceful and prepared with some ace up his sleeve. I should have known DD had some contingency plan just in case and it is apparently so scary even Law is trembling. Oda you are a writing genius.
I'm 100% certain that the number 1 General of the revolutionarys and the right hand man of Dragon is "Buggy 'The Star' Clown". There just is no one stronger than this juggernaut of an individual.
About Usopp and Buggy… hmmm... it must be the nose! :ninja:
I do not mind the similarity between them. It doesn't hurt at all. They're both awesome characters. Maybe a showdown between them will happen in the future.
